Heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove

Luke 3:15-22

The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might possibly be the Messiah. John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” And with many other words John exhorted the people and proclaimed the good news to them.

But when John rebuked Herod the Tetrarch because of his marriage to Herodias, his brother’s wife, and all the other evil things he had done, Herod added this to them all: He locked John up in prison.

When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”

Why?

People waiting for the Messiah and wondering if John might possibly be the Messiah. But John refused it, He is not the Messiah, and he is not worthy to serve Him.

Herod's marriage to his brother's wife is against the law of the Lord, and it was because of the sexy mind, and the proud heart.

People saw Jesus was baptized, but many of them did not see the Holy Spirit descend on him.

Jesus is God but because he came to the earth in human style he accepted the baptized too. So we, Christians, have to be baptized either, to accept the Holy Spirit.

What do we see? most time we see what we like to see.

How?

May my might and my heart come closer to the Lord and see what the Lord sees.

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests

Luke 3:1-14

He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

Why?

Jesus is the Savior, the Messiah, who was born in the manger. This is the symbol of our Messiah.

Jesus is the king of Heaven, but He chose the humble way to come to this world.

Jesus brings peace to those on whom his favor rests.

How?

Praise the Lord and give thanks to Jesus Christ. Jesus was born for us and released us from sins.

Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?

Luke 2:40-52

Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom. After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it.

After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers.

“Why were you searching for me?” he asked. Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house? But they did not understand what he was saying to them.

Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart. And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.

Why?
When Jesus was 12 years old, he showed his identity was different from other children.

Yes, Jesus had to be in my Father's house. But at that time his parent didn't understand what he said.

Jesus still went back with his parent to Nazareth.

A man grows up not only in his body but also in his wisdom and humanity with a comfortable relationship with the Lord and people.

How?

Jesus has shown his identity at twelve years old. His mother treasured all these things in her heart. He is not a common child.

A light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel

Luke 2:21-39

On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.

Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.”

“This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too."

There was also a prophet, Anna,  Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.

Why?
The birth of Jesus is known by the Lord and Prophets. Simon and Anna proved the word of the Lord, Jesus is a light for revelation to the Gentiles and the glory of God's people.

Even though many hearts will be revealed and a sword will pierce your own soul too. Here predicted the future work of Jesus.

How?

Jesus is the son of the Lord, I believe it and I know I am son of the Lord through salvation of Jesus Christ.

Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.

 Luke 2:1-20

A census should be taken of the entire Roman world.

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Why?

Jesus was born at the place where the prophet has said in Bethlehem.

Angles come to say who Jesus is, and give the word about Jesus on earth peace to those on home his favor rests.

The salvation comes to those the Lord chose and the man who accepts Jesus Christ as his Lord.

How?

Give thanks to the Lord for God's love to come upon us so we can become sons of the Lord through Jesus  Christ.

For you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation

Luke 1:57-80

Then they made signs to his father, to find out what he would like to name the child. He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone’s astonishment he wrote, “His name is John.” Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue set free, and he began to speak, praising God. All the neighbors were filled with awe, and throughout the hill country of Judea people were talking about all these things. Everyone who heard this wondered about it, asking, “What then is this child going to be?” For the Lord’s hand was with him.

His father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied: “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed themHe has raised up a horn[c] of salvation for us in the house of his servant David.

And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High;  for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sinsbecause of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”

Why?
After the father of John wrote his name, his tongue was set free and he began to speak. this is a sign of the work of the Lord.

Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied the word of his son. John will walk before the Lord to prepare the way for Jesus.

All the story of Jaon and Jesus coming is the way of the Lord preparing for Isrelites.

How?

Luke explains the coming of Jesus and John. So it declared that Jesus and John come in the way of the Lord.

To make ready a people prepared for the Lord Luke 1:1-56

 Luke 1:1-26,26-56

With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.

Once when Zechariah’s division was on duty and he was serving as priest before God, he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, to go into the temple of the Lord and burn incense.  And when the time for the burning of incense came, all the assembled worshipers were praying outside.

Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense. When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear.  But the angel said to him: “Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John. He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born. He will bring back many of the people of Israel to the Lord their God. And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

The angel said to him, “I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news. And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their appointed time.”

In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”

On the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they were going to name him after his father Zechariah, but his mother spoke up and said, “No! He is to be called John.”

He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone’s astonishment he wrote, “His name is John.” Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue set free, and he began to speak, praising God.

Why?

Luke according to the vision and the truth wrote this book to witness the birth of Jaon and Jesus.

John Baptise and Jesus Christ were born as the promise of the Lord a long time ago.

The life of Jesus and John will save God's people from sins and John the prepare the way for Jesus Christ.

How?

Jesus Christ was born for us, to save us from sins, believe Jesus as my savior is the only way to blessing.
