Judges 8:1-21
Gideon went up by the route of the nomads(游牧民族) east of Nobah and Jogbehah and attacked the unsuspecting(毫無防備的) army. He pursued them and capture them, routing(verb,擊潰) their entire army.
As is the man, so is his strength.
Gideon took the oraments off Zebah and Zalmunna camels' necks
Crescent-moon-shaped ornaments are still popular among Arab peoples today. The Bible mentions them only here and in Isaiah.
People lived in Scooth and Peniel refused to help Gideon, so they were be punished after Gideon came back from battle.
Why?
Brave are Gideon and his 300 men, attacked fifteen thousand entire army.
As is the man, so is his strength. As strong and brave is Gideon so he has trength to kill his enemy. As week is son of Gideon so he afraid to kill other. As evildoer is Zebah and Zalmunna, so they suffer the same consequences.
How?
Victory of fight is belong to the Lord, but all the plunder are belong to God either.

A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!
Judges 7:15-25
Gideon and his 300 men, they shouted, “A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!”
The Lord caused the men throughout the camp to turn on each other with their swords.
Israelites from Naphtali, Asher and all Manasseh were called out. Gideon sent messengers through out the hill country of Ephraim,"Come down against the Midianites and seize the waters of the Jordan ahead of them as far as Beth Barah."
Why?
Gideon uses his wits in the surprise attack, but the victory in the ensuing(隨後) rout(大敗) is God's.
Once again God go ahead before Gideon, the victory is belong to the Lord.
Because Gideon heard the dream in the camp of Midianites, "This can be nothing other than the sword of Gideon, the Israelite. God has given the Midianites and the whole camp into his hands." so they shout "A sword for the Lord and for Gideon."
How?
Be encouraged, follow God's way and work with God, there is victory belong to the Lord, we are working with the Lord.

Serve the Lord with faith
Judges 7:1-14
Before the war between Israel and Medianites, the Lord let Gideon reduce his army number from twenty-two thousand men to three hundred men. In order that Israel may not boast against God that their own strength has saved them.
Gideon went to the camp of Medianites as God told him, he heard the talk in the camp, Gideon knew that the Lord has bring the enemy into his hand.
Bedouin from the east - the Midianties who were descendants of Abraham by his second wife, Keturah - swept through southern Israel as far as the Philistines city of Gaza. The terror spread by these fierce camel-rider is vividly pictured in 6:11. Gideon is forces to thresh his meagre grain harvest secretly, in the confines of the wine press.
The faith of this man, for all his initial caution, is see in his readiness to face the Midianite hordes(成群) with a force of only 300 men.
The barley loaf stands for Israel, the tent for the nomadic(游牧) Midianites
Why?
God don't want the people serve him are trembles, without faith. The behavior is not good are excludes from the servant of the Lord either, who drink water like the dogs.
Those who scoop up the water and lap it from their hands are more alert to danger than those who kneel.
How?
Serve the Lord with faith and live as noble. For we are the servant of the Almighty God.

Out Lord is a really God
Judges 6:25-40
Gideon tore down hisfather’s altar to Baal and cut down the Asherah pole beside it. Then build a proper kind of altar to the Lord on the top of this height. Using the wood of the Asherah pole that he cut down, offer the second bull as a burnt offering.
When people found their gods Baal was demolished, they demanded of Joash bring his son Gideon. His father replied "If Baal really is a god, he can defend himself when someone breaks down his altar"
Gideon asked God second times to confirm that the Lord is with him to conquer the Midianites, Amalekites and other eastern peoples united enemy with the fleece as sign.
Why?
Ask the Lord for sign is allowed to follow God's command, in case the idea or mind is come from our own mind.
If Baal really is a god , he can defend himself. And Baal is not a really god. But the Lord is a really god, his love and righteousness endure forever. Our God listen to my prayer and blesses me.
How?
Fear the Lord and protect our heart with Him. He is the Lord!

The Lord is Peace, Gideon built a altar
Judges 6:1-24
"Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said."
Ans. I am theLord your God; do not worship the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you live. But you have not listened to me.
Go in the strength you have and saveIsrael out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you? Angel told Gideon
But how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.
If now I have found favor in your eyes, give me a sign that it is really you talking to me.
Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called it The Lord Is Peace. To this day it stands in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
Why?
Many people will ask the same question like Gideon, Why has all this happened to us? The answer is simple, because they do not listen to the word of God.
Gideon did not know who the angle was, so he asked the angle give him a sign.
Gideon is humble and careful to listen angle's talk.
Finally Gideon built a altar to the Lord, remember that the Lord is Peace.
If we do not sure the way God assigned to us, we can ask the Lord give us a sign.
How?
The Lord is peace, but there are many war and disaster in the world because they did not listen to the word of God.

Live to honor God's holy name
Judges 5:19-31
From the heavens the stars fought,
from their courses they fought against Sisera.
21 The river Kishon swept them away,
the age-old river, the river Kishon.
March on, my soul; be strong!
22 Then thundered the horses’ hooves(蹄)—
galloping(馳騁), galloping go his mighty steeds(戰馬).
So may all your enemies perish, Lord! But may all who love you be like the sun when it rises in its strength.
The song that celebrates the battle provides the clue to the victory.
A cloudburst turned the Kishon into a raging torrent. Many of the chariots were swept away, the rest completely bogged down in the mud.
The 'battle-hymn' has an eye-witness freshness and sheer exultation(大喜, 歡樂) about it that comes through despite some problems arising from the age of the text. The poet-composer uses all the devices of sound, beat and repetition(復誦)to depict scenes as swift and vivid as a film - finally cutting with dramatic effect from Jael, hammer raised straight to Sisera's mother, waiting in vain for her son's return.
Taanach is only 8km from Megiddo, the scene of so man battles that it gave its name to the ultimate battle-place 'Armageddon'. The waters or stream of Megiddo is the River Kishon.
How?
Write a song or a story to describe the Almighty hand of the Lord had done for me. I live to witness great love of the Lord and honor his holy name.

The song of Deborah
Judges 5:1-18
The song of Deborah.
I will sing to the Lord, I will sing; I will make music to the Lord, the God of Israel.
Village life in Israel ceased, ceased until I, Deborah, arose. When they chose new gods, war came to the city gates.
They recite the righteous acts of the Lord, the righteous acts of his warriors in Israel.
The song that celebrates the battle provides the clue to the victory.
Why?
Deborah knew is the Lord help them defeated the enemy, so she made music to the Lord.
The clue to the victory is the Lord walked head of Israel.
How?
Always thank to the Lord, do not forget his love and righteousness. God is with us when we seek the Lord.
