Do not say, “I’ll pay you back for this wrong!” Wait for the Lord, and he will avenge you

Proverbs 20:1-30

It is to one’s honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.

Sluggards do not plow in season; so at harvest time they look but find nothing.

The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.

Many claim to have unfailing love, but a faithful person who can find?

Who can say, “I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin”?

Gold there is, and rubies in abundance, but lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel.

Plans are established by seeking advice; so if you wage war, obtain guidance.

Do not say, “I’ll pay you back for this wrong!” Wait for the Lord, and he will avenge you.

The human spirit is the lamp of the Lord that sheds light on one’s inmost being.

Love and faithfulness keep a king safe; through love his throne is made secure.

Why?

It is good to avoid strife, fo not involve the quarrel.

All of us are sinners so we have to humble ourselves, we can't say I am clean and without sin.

Even if we have trouble, let the Lord help us, Wait for the Lord and he will avenge us. The righteousness is my Lord.

How?

Thanks the Lord let the love and the secret of the wisdom come upon me. Let me be a wisdom man in my life to honor the Holy name of the Lord.

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

Proverbs 19:1-29

Desire without knowledge is not good— how much more will hasty feet miss the way!

Wealth attracts many friends, but even the closest friend of the poor person deserts them.

A false witness will not go unpunished, and whoever pours out lies will not go free. 

A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.

A king’s rage is like the roar of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.

A foolish child is a father’s ruin, and a quarrelsome wife is like the constant dripping of a leaky roof.

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.

The fear of the Lord leads to life; then one rests content, untouched by trouble.

Penalties are prepared for mockers, and beatings for the backs of fools.

Why?

Desire without knowledge = no good, = bad.

False witnesses and lies will be punished.

Only a person's wisdom yields patience.

All of us have plans in our hearts, but only the Lord's purpose will prevail.

Fear of the Lord leads to life, wisdom is relative to knowing the Lord.

Penalties is education to the fools and mockers.

How?

Don't care too little things but keep fear the Lord, it is relative to our life.

Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor

Proverbs 18:1-24

The words of the mouth are deep waters, but the fountain of wisdom is a rushing stream.

The mouths of fools are their undoing, and their lips are a snare to their very lives. The words of a gossip are like choice morsels;  they go down to the inmost parts.

The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. The wealth of the rich is their fortified city; they imagine it a wall too high to scale. Before a downfall the heart is haughty,  but humility comes before honor.

To answer before listening— that is folly and shame. 

The human spirit can endure in sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear?

The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out.

A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great.

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.

Why?
He who finds a good wife receives favor from the Lord because no one knows the reason and opportunity.

Keep humility is the way to be honored. Haughty brings downfall.

Don't speak gossip, it is an innocent word.

Crushed Spiritual no one can bear and is more dangerous than in sickness.

愚昧人不喜愛明哲，只喜愛顯露心意： 只愛講，不愛聽的人。

人口中的言語如同深水：話中有話，讓人去猜

傳舌人的言語如同美食：把別人的錯誤當作笑話在說，在聽，看好戲

浪費人： 消極、墮落的人。

富足人的財物是他的堅城： 容易把看得見的錢財為貴，為保障。

敗壞之先，人心驕傲；尊榮以前，必有謙卑： 整本聖經的原則。靠自己想往上爬的就是開始墮落了

未曾聽完先回答的： 自我很強烈的人

心靈的問題只有依靠神

聰明人的心得知識；智慧人的耳求知識：智慧人不斷在求知識，真正知道愈多的人，愈覺得自己知道的不足。

先訴情由的，似乎有理；但鄰舍來到，就察出實情： 不要單聽單方面的論述，福音書有四篇，可以全方位認識到。

掣籤結果也在神的手中。

說話的人要承擔自己話語的後果，有時在言話得勝，卻失去朋友關係！

但有一朋友比弟兄更親密：耶穌是我們最好的朋友。

Proverbs 17:1-28

A prudent servant will rule over a disgraceful son and will share the inheritance as one of the family.

The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests the heart.

Whoever mocks the poor shows contempt for their Maker; whoever gloats over disaster will not go unpunished.

Whoever would foster love covers over an offense, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.

Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out.

A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

If imposing a fine on the innocent is not good, surely to flog honest officials is not right.

The one who has knowledge uses words with restraint, and whoever has understanding is even-tempered.

Why?

Let me be a prudent servant of the Lord. share the inheritance as one of the family.

The Lord tests the heart so God allows many troubles and difficulties for us. It is good for us.

A brother is born for a time of adversity, only in time of adversity can see who are my brother.

A cheerful heart is good medicine, so keep a cheerful heart, for the Lord is my stress and my savior.

Uses words with restraint, has understanding is even-tempered. So care what I am speaking and tempered altitude.

相爭： 充滿爭吵，因為驕傲！朋友間和好相愛很重要。

鼎為煉銀，爐為煉金；惟有耶和華熬煉人心。生命成長是痛苦的，但是苦過就有喜樂！

子孫為老人的冠冕；父親是兒女的榮耀。晚輩看長輩的看法，三代間的關係。

愚頑人說美言本不相宜，何況君王說謊話呢？美言：大話，也是說謊，愚頑人如此，更何況君王?一般人如此，何況是基督徒?

賄賂在餽送的人眼中看為寶玉，惡人暗中受賄賂，為要顛倒判斷。

惡人只尋背叛，不求公義、忠心，結果也是惡人來攻擊他們。

紛爭的起頭如水放開： 不要無謂的爭辯！

高立家門的，乃自取敗壞： 立高牆也是驕傲，和別人疏遠、高不可攀，

寡少言語的，有知識：少說話，要說造就人的話！智慧人從說話開始！

Proverbs 16:1-33

To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue.

All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord.

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

Better a little with righteousness than much gain with injustice.

How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver!

The hearts of the wise make their mouths prudent, and their lips promote instruction. Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.

Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained in the way of righteousness. Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city. The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord.

Why?

Commit to the Lord whatever I do, and God will establish my plans. The Lord is my savior my way and my life.

Answer proper words need the wisdom of the Lord. My wisdom comes from the Lord.

Word in our mouth could be like fire to hurt others or like gold to establish others and make peace.

There is a way that appears to be right is the way of this world, which depends on our own, pride mind.

How?

Trust in the Lord and commit to the Lord whatever I do.

Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord, and humility comes before honor.

Proverbs 15:1-33

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.

The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.

The lips of the wise spread knowledge, but the hearts of fools are not upright.

A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.

Better a small serving of vegetables with love than a fattened calf with hatred.

Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.

A person finds joy in giving an apt reply— and how good is a timely word!

Light in a messenger’s eyes brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.

Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord, and humility comes before honor.

Why?

A gentle answer is better than a harsh word. 

The soothing tongue is a tree of life, so speaking gently may construct human's life.

Love is more important than eating something delicious.

How?

Always be humble and in the end will be honored, for the Lord lift up the humble man.

Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy.

 Proverbs 14:1-35

The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.

Whoever fears the Lord walks uprightly, but those who despise him are devious in their ways.

A fool’s mouth lashes out with pride, but the lips of the wise protect them.

Stay away from a fool, for you will not find knowledge on their lips.

Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy.

There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.

The simple believe anything, but the prudent give thought to their steps.

All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.

The wise fear the Lord and shun evil, but a fool is hotheaded and yet feels secure.

The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning a person from the snares of death.

Why?

The fool is connecting with pride.

A way that appears to be right is the way of selfish and prideful way, which leads to death.

Don't believe everything only the prudent give thought to their steps.

Fear the Lord is a wise man. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life.

The Bible asks us to work hard, which brings a profit.

婦人的比較：婦女在家：影響力很大，很重要，一個家是否被建立起來，妻子是否重要角色。

表面上講農業社會現象，強調為了乾淨以致什麼都沒有，什麼都沒有就不用花時間做工，有牛才能有好收成，當然就會多出許多需要清理的東西，我們希望成長，就是須要去清理我們自己，必須清理修剪。若我們要土產加多，就必須去清理牛糞等。

褻慢人因為拒絕神以致尋不著智慧，若我們沒有謙卑的心，我們讀聖經是讀不懂的。

通達人如何知道走對路，因為會常常自我反省。愚昧人常常以為自己走對的路。

異端的教會有個特點通常很封閉，不易明白其真正教義。一個正統教會如果不常常反省自己，自然容易走向異端。

通達人追求的是認識神，以此為他的榮耀。

敬畏耶和華1)今生有依靠，2)未來有生命的泉源。
