Tell the Lord what my bitter distress

2 Kings 4:8-37
Elisha let the Shunammite's woman has a son, for she invited Elisha to her home for meal and prepared a roof room for his rest whenever Elisha comes.
One day the son was suddenly dead, the  woman put her son on the bed of the prophet and shut the door,  she didn't tell anyone about this, she replied "It's all right."
Elisha saw the woman came and she hold of his feet. Gehazi came over to push her away, but the man of God said,'Leave her alone! She is in bitter distress, but the Lord has hidden it from me and has not told me why."
Elisha went to the woman's home after the woman said she will not leave Elisha.
Elisha turn the son's life back and said to the woman "Take your son". She came in, fell at his feet an bowed to the ground Then she took her son and went out.
The childless woman if Shunem who gave Elisha generous hospitality and the feeding of the hungry. Elisha did the same miracle to this woman  like Elijah.
Why?
The Lord does not let his servant know everything happened around us the reason why!
When trouble comes, tell someone else is useless, tell the one who can in charge of it is meaningful. Tell the Lord, for he has the power to turn the life back only.
How?
Don't always ask why, but asked myself what can I do? Tell the Lord what I have bitter distress

what you have ?

2 Kings 4:1-7
A wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, her husband is dead and he revered the Lord.
Elisha replied to her, "How can I help you? Tell me, what you have in your house?"
The woman said "Your servant has nothing there at all. except a little oil"
Elisha said,"Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don't ask for a few. Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side."
She did as Elisha said, when there was not a jar left, then the oil stopped flowing.
Elisha said to her, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left."
The widow whose children were to become slaves to discharge her debts.
Why?
Elisha takes care the life of his followers.
How can I help you? Is a way to ask the needed people.
The Lord help us through what we have. Don't despise what we have, if we devote the Lord, the Lord can use it and let us have more.
Go inside and shut the door, for the work of Holy Spirit can not be interfered. So it is prayer, go inside and shut the door behind me.
No empty jars than oil stopped flowing. Holy Spirit and the mercy of the Lord comes upon us when we are empty and cry to the Lord.
Elisha's miracles, like those of Jesus, show God's care of ordinary people and their needs.
How?
The Lord will help me through what I have and I can help other by what they have and through the power of the Lord.
Don't selfish to others. I usually cred about the money, the Lord might test me through money. All I have are belong to the Lord, it is the Lord lend me to use when I am living in the world.

This is easy things in the eyes of the Lord

2 Kings 3:1-27
A punitive expedition against Moab by the allied forces of Israel, Judah and Edom, is made hazardous by drought.
Joram did evil in the eyes of the Lord, but not as his father and mother had done.
Joram thought "Has the Lord called us three kings together only to hand us over to Moab?" Jehoshaphat asked to inquire of the the Lord through prophet of the Lord.
Elisha said to three kings, "if I did no have respect for the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not look at you or even notice you."
The Lord helped allied forces as Elisha had told them, "The Lord says:' You will see neither wind nor rain, yet this valley will be filled with water, and you, your cattle and your other animals will drink. This is an easy thing in the eyes of the Lord.'"
Wen the king of Moab saw that the battle had gone against him, he took his firstborn son, and offered him as a sacrifice on the city wall. The fury against Israel was great; they withdrew and returned to their own land.
Why?
In early times through the priests and now through prophets.
The sacrifices of the king's son so heartened the Moabites, or so appalled the Israelites, that the advance was halted.
There was not priest in Israel so the Lord sent prophets spoke in this land.
The Lord won't give any word to the evil man, for they won't listen or believe what the Lord says.
The work of the Lord done many thing are difficult to human beings, but it is easy to the Lord.
Only one third of the population, the Lord like to speak to them, hope them will know that He is the Lord.
How?
This is easy things in the eyes of the Lord when He will, for he is the sovereign Lord in all of the world and heaven. What I need is have confidence in God.
The Lord is speaking to us now when we seek for Him.

Salt in new bowl

2 Kings 2:19-25
Jericho city was cursed by Joshua, (6:24, 1 King 16:34). City's water is healed by the Lord through Elisha using salt in new bowl.
The boy might be any age, there were young men, local louts, yelling abuse at the prophet and his God, telling him to 'Go up' like Elijah.
These a few things are evidence for the reader that God has indeed empowered Elisha.
Why?
Salt is very cheap and common material, but it could heal the water and prevent corrupt and rot. Jesus asked us to be salt in this world.
New bowl, we have to be a new bowl that let the new life comes upon us.
New life from Jesus comes to me and we pour out the salt of life to this world.
When we have the life of the Lord, everyone has the power like Elisha, be aware of what we are talking.
How?
Dear Lord, please empower me, let my life could be like salt to this world around me.

The truth is never failed

2 King 2:13-18
Elisha picked the cloak that had fallen from Elijah and went back and stood on the bank of the Jordan. He took the cloak and struck the water, "Where now is the Lord, the God of Elijah?" asked.
When he struck the water, it divided to the right and to the left, and he crossed over.
The company of the prophets from Jericho who were watching, said, "The spirit of Elisha is resting on Elisha"
The company of the prophets didn't see the Elijah went to heaven so they persisted Elisha let them 50 able men went out to search Elijah. Three days later they returned to Elisha, who was staying in Jericho, he said to them, "Didn't I tell you not to go?"
Why?
Elisha saw the feature of Elijah went up to heaven with chariot of fire and horses of fire, so Elisha got the portion of spirit as Elijah.
Elisha said "Where is the Lord?", it was confirmed that the spirit of Lord is resting on him.
People always won't like listen the words of the truth, until they found there is no way and was proved by themselves, then they will believe in the truth.
How?
To be a servant of the Lord, speak the truth is our job, do they listen or not is their responsibility. Not only responsibility but also the love of God comes upon me. To preach to gospel is my obligation and mission.
The truth is never failed.

The chariot and horsemen of Israel

2 Kings 2:1-12
Elijah was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha were on their way from Gigal. then to Bethel, Jericho and cross Jodan river.
Elijah said three times to Elisha "Stay here; the Lord has sent me to Bethel..."
Elisha replied three time "As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you."
Last time, two of them crossed over on dry ground, Elijah asked Elisha what I can do for you before I am taken from you?" Elisha replied "Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit"
Elijah said "You have asked a difficult thing, yes if you see me when I am taken from you it will be yours- otherwise not."
The company of prophets in Bethel and Jericho asked Elisha "Do you know that the Lord is going to take your master from you today?" Elisha replied "Yes, I know, but do not speak of it."
Elisha saw a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated two of them. Elijah went up to heaven in whirlwind. Elisha cried out, "My father! My father! The chariot and horsemen of Israel!"
Why?
Elijah's reappearance at the transfiguration of Jesus underlines the unique position of this man among all the prophet of God.
Double portion which fell to the heir, the eldest son, who inherited twice as much as anyone else. So Elisha asks, not for twice Elijah's power, but for the share which would mark him out as the prophet's successor.
The fire often points to God's presence.
Elijah is the defender of Israel, he was of more value to the nation than its armed forces.
Elisha knew Elisha is a special prophet of the Lord, he hoped he can success Elijah as God's prophet in Israel, Elisha followed Elijah and did not go away. Elisha also asked company of the prophets did not speak it, it was running under the arrangement of the Lord.
Elijah knows to have his spirit upon Elisha is the authority of the Lord, so he couldn't answer it.
How?
Following Jesus and obeying the commands of the Lord as Elisha followed Elijah, for the Lord is our fortress and strength.
To be a prophet of the Lord is more valuable than armed forces in a nation. Hope I could be a prophet of the Lord to remind more people come to the Lord.

2 Kings: Is it because there is no God in here?

2 Kings 1:1-18

King of Israel, Ahaziah had fallen through the lattice of his upper room in Samaria and injured himself. He sent messengers, saying to them, ”Go and consult Baal-Zebub the god of Ekron, to see if I will recover from this injury.”

The word of the Lord came to Elijah, and sent message to Ahaziah, “This is what the Lord says: Is it because there is no God in Israel that your are sending men to consult Baal-Zubub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you will certainly die!”

King of Israel sent two captains and his fifty people to ask Elijah come down with them with order. Elijah replied “If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men!” Fire of God fell from heaven and consumed his and his fifty men.

Third time captain with his 50 men went up and fell on his knees before Elijah, asked Elijah respect for his life. Then Elijah went with them when the angle of the Lord said to Elijah.

Why?

When king of Israel does not have the Lord in his heart, the blessing will not come upon his country and his family.

Even the prophet and the servant of the Lord should be respected, for they are the messengers of the Lord. Usually they have not much property, but with the blessing and words of the Lord.

How?

He is the Lord, the Lord is exists in everywherein the world  and he is in our heart if we believed in him.

Is it because there is no God in here?

The Lord is waiting for repentance of every sinful man

1 Kings 22:41-53
Jehoshaphat son of Asa became king of Judah in the fourth year of Ahan king of Israel. Jehoshaphat reigned in Jerusalem 25 years, he walked in the ways of his father Asa and did not stray from them; he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He rid the land of the rest of the male shrine prostitutes who remained there even after the reign of his father Asa.
Jehoshaphat refused Aha suggestion "Let my men sail with your men." He built a fleet of trading ship to go to Ophir for gold, but they never set sail- they were wrecked at Ezion Geber.
Ahaziah son of Ahab became king of Israel in Samaria, he reigned over  Irsael 2 years. He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father had done.
Why?
Judah has many kings walked the way of Lord, did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. In Israel there was no any king walked in the way of the Lord.
Elijah pronounces God's judgement on his idolatry. It takes three military posses to bring Elijah to the king. But nothing can alter the sentence.
How?
When the atmosphere or the circumstance are getting worse, no any justice could be done on this land then the sentence of the Lord will coming. It is the choice of human being and there consequence of sin.
People have to take his responsibility of what he has done. The Lord have mercy that wait for repentance of every sinful man.

The life of everyone is in the hands of the Lord

1 Kings 22:29-40
The king of Israel cared the talk of prophet Micaiah, so he disguised himself and went into flight with Aram, but Jehoshaphat wear his royal robes.
The king of Aram had ordered his thirty-two chariot commanders, "Do not fight with anyone, except the king of Israel." So Jehoshaphat may safe in the battle.
But someone drew his bow at random and hit the king of Israel between the sections of his armor, the king was propped up in his chariot facing the Arameans. He died that evening.
So the king died and was brought to Samaria, and they buried him there. They washed the chariot a pool in Samaria (where the prostitutes bathed), and the dogs licked up his blood, as the word of the Lord had declared.
Why?
The destination or the decree of the Lord, no one can escape from it.
Ahab died for his sin and same as the word of the Lord had declared.
Jehoshaphat was dangerous in battle, but the Lord loved him so he may saved from the battle.
How?
The life of everyone is in the hands of the Lord. Worship the Lord and give honor to the Lord, he is the only God in the world.
Exalt the name of the Lord, He is worthy our worship.

Say the truth of the Lord people will know it

1 Kings 22:15-28
The Lord has decreed disaster for Ahab, let someone entice Ahab into attacking Ramoth Gilead and going to dead.
Zedekiah and Micaiah both listened the word from the Lord, but the difference is Zedekiah listen from a spirit, Micaiah saw the Lord sitting on his throne and heard what the Lord said.
Micaiah said the truth to the king but was put in prison and had nothing but bread and water.
Micaiah declared, "If you ever return safely, the Lord has not spoken through me." Then he added." Mark my words, all you people!"
Why?
Distinguish the Holy Spirit of the Lord, sometimes the evil spirit might says lie. Usually it comes from our own mind or desires. The Lord allowed lie spirit said to the other prophets but let his own prophet hear the truth.
Said the truth usually is displeased to most people in the world.
Make my words then you will know who said the truth, Micaiah left message to remind all people.
How?
Do not afraid say the truth, the word of the Lord, people will know that which one is truth. It is duty of a real Christian.
When we obey the words of the Lord, the Lord will say to us directly or through Holy Spirit.

A servant of the Lord says the truth only

1 Kings 22:1-14
King of Israel wanted to retake the Ramoth Gilead from the king of Aram. Jehoshaphat king of Judah went down to see the king of Israel. So king of Israel invited Jehoshaphat go with him, Jehoshaphat agreed it, but he asked to seek the counsel of the Lord first.
400 prophets said "Go, for the Lord will give it into the king's hand."
Jehoshaphat asked "Is there not a prophet of the Lord here whom we can inquire of?"
The king of Israel hated him because he never prophesies anything good about him, but always bad. He is Micaiah son of Imlah.
Micaiah said "As surely as the Lord lives, I can tell him only what the Lord tells me." The messenger who had gone to summon Micaiah said to him " Said the word agree with other prophets and speak favorable."
Why?
King Aram had promised king of Israel return the cities his father took from Israel. Aram seems did not return these cities to Israel, so king of Israel wanted to retake it back.
Ahab thought together the force with Judah could be victorious.
King of Israel does evil things so the prophet of the Lord wouldn't say good things to him, but bad.
Jehoshaphat obeyed the commands of the Lord so the Lord blessed him, but he cooperated with the king of Israel is not wise decision. Might be the Lord let king of Judah came to visit Israel, let Ahab die for his won sin on the battle.
A servant of the Lord speaks the words of the Lord only. Only the words of truth will come true. Words of the Lord are the truth.
How?
The words in the bible are the truth in this world. Follow the spirit of the Lord and obey the words of the Lord will never be forsake and be blessed.

Respect the honor of our life

1 Kings 21:20-29
Elijah said to Ahab,"You have sold yourself to do evil in the eyes of the Lord"
The disaster come upon Ahab, "I will consume your descendants and cut off from Ahab every last male in Israel-slave or free","Dogs will eat those belonging to Ahab who die in the city, and the birds of the air will feed on those who die in the country."
When Ahab heard these words, he tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and fasted. He lay i sackcloth and went around meekly. Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah "Have you noticed how Aha has humbled himself before me? Because he has humbled himself, I will not bring this disaster in his day, but I will bring it on his house in the days of his son."
Why?
The Lord is full of mercy when a man humbled himself, even the angry of the Lord will delay bring to him.
One who does not respect dignity of his life, then he is sold himself to evil. It is the choice of personal mind. People who has to bear his own responsibility of sin. Don't condemn to anyone else.
When one sold himself to evil, he is lost his conscious and enjoys in his fun of sin. He is becomes a beast.
How?
The Lord gives us a dignity life to everyone, it is an honor life.
Don't forsake the conscious of ourselves, sold ourselves to sin.

The Lord is righteous in all his ways

1 Kings 21:8-19
Jezebel proclaim a day of fasting and seat Naboth in a prominent place among the people. But seat two scoundrels opposite him and have them testify that he has cursed both God and the king. Then take him out and stone him to death.
As soon as Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned to death, she said to Ahab,"Get up and take possession of the vineyard of Naboth. He is no longer alive, but dead." When Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, he got up and wet down to take possession of Naboth's vineyard.
The word if the Lord came to ELijah, "Go down to meet Ahab, He is now in Naboth' vineyards, where he had gone to take possession of it. say to him, ' This is what the Lord says: In the place where dogs licked up Naboths's blood, dogs will lick up your blood-yes, yours!'"
Why?
Ahab and Jezebel both are the murders to kill the innocent people Naboth.
The Lord's angry came to Ahab, he will pay the blood of Naboth.
The Lord let Naboth's soul come to heaven, let Naboth avoid the coming suffering in Israel.
How?
The Lord remember the blood of innocent one. Sometimes the dead of innocent men is the mercy of the Lord to save them away from the coming disaster.
The Lord is righteous in all his ways and loving toward all he has made. (Psalm 146:17)

Wife with wise and beautiful inside is more benefit to a man

1 King 21:1-7
Naboth refused to five the inheritance of his father- the vineyard close to palace of King Israel.
Ahab went home, sullen and angry because of this, he lay o his bed sulking ad refused eat.
His wife Jezebel knew it and said,"Is this how you act as king over Israel? Get up and eat! Cheer up.I'll get your the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite."
Why?
To be a king of Israel want more vineyard, but it is the law that people can't give the inheritance of his father. This is protect the people of Israel sell their land to others or foreigner.
It is could be sold, as David bought the land of Araunah to offer sacrifices there. But Ahab was not a good king in eyes of the Lord.
To be a king of Israel should protect his people property, no to rob property of his people. Jezebel wanted to rob Naboth's vineyard by some trick.
How?
Marriage is important to a man to do good things or evil things. The heart of wife is more important than beautiful looking. Wife with wise and beautiful inside is benefit to her husband.

One who takes his responsibility for his deeds

1 Kings 20:35-43
A son of the prophets - Elijah, has the power of the Lord.
He disguised himself and said the king Israel a story about himself. "That is your sentence," the king of Israel said "You have pronounced it yourself."
Then the prophet quickly removed the headband from his eyes, and the king of Israel recognized him as one of the prophets. He said to the king, "This is what the Lord says:' You have set free a man I had determined should die. Therefore it is your life for his life, your people for his people.'"
Why?
The one who didn't obey the word of the Lord so he was killed by the lion.
If this man won't disguised himself the king will recognized him soon and won't says the words from his mouth. The Lord wanted Ahab said the consequence about himself from his mouth.
It is unreasonable to release biggest enemy of the country, and Aram,Ban-Hadad, was defeated by the Lord.
We have to take responsibility for our behavior when we presence before the Lord at that day.
How?
As your days, so shall your strength be. (Deut 33:25) 
Obey the words of the Lord is our peace and safety.

Pray and ask the Lord to make right decision

1 Kings 20:31-34
Ben-Hadad fled to the city and hid in an inner room. His officials said to him, "We heard the kings of the house of Israel are merciful. Let us go to the king of Israel with sackcloth around our waists and ropes around our heads. Perhaps he will spare your life."
The king said " Is he still alive? He is my brother."
"I will return the cities my father took fro your father," Ben-Hadad offered."You may set up your own market areas in Damascus, as my father did in Samaria."
Aha agreed and make a treaty with him and let his go.
Why?
Ahab looked Ben-Hadad as brother, even he was enemy and be defeated. Ahab was condemned by the prophet of the Lord later.
It is the help of the Lord let Ahab defeated Ben-Hadad. Not Ahab his own strength, so he should ask the Lord.
Merciful to people is good deed but should not merciful to our enemy, especial to the chief of the enemy. Just is needed to our enemy. It is hard to make decision under these situation. Ask the Lord will be the best way.
How?
No matter what we will do pray to the Lord, he will give us the wisdom and show us his way to follow Him. To be a servant of the Lord we should ask the Master before make decision.

Humble myself, don't despise others

1 King 20:16-30
Ben-Hadad despised Israelite, the Lord was with Israelites, so 7000 in all advanced and overpowered the horses and chariots and inflicted heavy losses on the Arameans.  
Meanwhile the officials of the kings of Aram said him, "Their gods are gods of the hills. That is why they were too strong for us. But if we flight them on the plains, surely we will be stronger than they." He agreed with them and acted according to what the officials recommended.
The next spring Bn-Hadad mustered the Arameans and went up to Aphek to flight against Israel. Israelites were also mustered and given provisions, they marched out to meet them. The Israelites camped like two small flocks of goats, while the Arameans covered the countryside.
The man of God came up and told the king of Israel, "This is what the Lord says:' Because the Arameans think the Lord is a god of the hills and not a god of the valleys, I will deliver this vast army into your hands, and you will know that I am the Lord."
Why?
The flight is the Lord handle it, if the stronger one is proud and despised the Lord will be defeated.Israel will know who is the Lord.
Unfortunately Israel didn't learned that the Lord is their God.
The Lord gave many chances to Israelites let them know who He is. Just as now the Lord gives us many chances to know him, but many people are stiffnecked people.
How?
Pray to the Lord for many people they do not know the Lord, and be a honest follower of Jesus. Humble myself to walk on the way of the Lord. Don;t despise others.

my help comes from the Lord

1 King 20:1-15
Ben-Hadad was boasted to ask Ahab "Your silver and gold are mine and the best of your wives and children are mine." Ahab did not refused him. But Ben-Hadad requested second time included send his officials to search his palace and houses of his officials, they will seize everything value and carry it away. Ahab refused Ben-Hadad this time.
Be-Hadad even said "May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if enough dust remains in Samaria to give each of my men a handful." Ahab answered "One who puts on his armor should not boast like one who takes it off."
Ben-Hadad prepared to attach Israel, meanwhile a prophet came to Ahab and announced,"This is what the Lord says, 'Do you see this vast army? I will give it into your hand today, and then you will know that I am the Lord.' "
And the prophet said to Ahab he has to start the battle, and the young offers of the provincial commanders will do it."
Why?
Ahab was not walked on the way of God, but Ben-Hadad was too proud so the Lord helped Ahab, let he know that I am the Lord.
The Lord is mercy to his people, for the Lord hope Ahab knows that the Lord still is the God of Israel.
Battle is not rely on the number of army or horses, but reply on the Load Almighty.
The instructions of the Load is clearly and let us know how to do it
How?
Praise to the Lord, my help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

To be a servant of the Lord like Elijah and Elisha

1 King 19:19-21
Elijah found Elisha son of Shaphat. He was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen.
Elijah threw his cloak around him.
Elisha said to Elijah "Let me kiss my father and mother good-by, and then I will come with you."
Elijah replied "Go back, What have I done to you?"
Elisha took his yoke of oxen and slaughtered them He burned the plowing equipment to cook the meat and gave it to the people, and they ate. He set out to follow Elijah and became his attendant.
Why?
Elijah didn't do anything, he threw his cloak around Elisha, the spirit came upon Elisha, so he forsake all he has and set out to follow Elijah. That is why Elijah said "What have I done to you?"
Anything of real prophet of the Lord may has the power from the Lord.
Elisha burn his yoke of oxen and slaughtered his oxen, then he has nothing left, he devoted himself to follow Elijah. To follow Jesus is similar have to devote all I have, all I have is belong to the Lord.
How?
To be a attendant of Jesus and God, love him with all my soul, all my mind and all of my heart. It is nothing should hold on me, all are belongs of the Lord.
Elijah is the servant of the Lord.

What are you doing here?

1 King 19:9-18
The word of the Lord came to Elijah "What are you doing here, Elijah?"
Elijah replied,"I have been zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant,... I am the only one left, an now they are trying to kill me."
The Lord showed powerful wind, earthquake and fire, but the Lord was not in it. After the fire came a gentle whisper. Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of cave.
Elijah said the same words to the Lord. The Lord said to Elijah "Go back to the way he came, go to anoint Hazael king over Aram, anoint Jeru king over Israel, and anoint Elisha to succeed you as prophet. I have reserve seven thousand in Israel - all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and all whom mouths have not kissed him."
Why?
Elijah though he was the only one left and zealous for the Lord, the Lord have reserve other 7000 prophets for Him.  Elijah is not the only one, don't look ourselves over high or frustrated to the environment.
The Lord control the wind, the earthquake and fire, but the Lord did not in these three mighty feature. The Lord showed to Elijah in very gentle whisper, let us not fear and let us feel more peace. The Lord let Elijah know he controls all of these, Elijah is not alone, there were wind, earth quake and fire which means the judgement, and there was gentle whisper that means mercy from the Lord.
The Lord asked Elijah continue work for Him, his mission haven't done yet. God assigned Elisha to succeed his mission. The Lord loves Elijah, let Elijah rest his work on the world.
To be a prophet of the Lord to anoint others is one of the important mission.
How?
What are you doing here? The Lord ask me. What should I say, what I can complain to the Lord, nothing I can say. He is the Lord, the Lord knows what my situation is, be faithful in Jesus. We can pray to the Lord our suffering, worrier and others. God loves me.

I am enough

1 King 19:1-8
Jezebel sent a message to Elijah to say, "May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them."
Elijah was afraid and ran for this life.
Elijah was tired and prayed to the Lord under a broom tree,"I have enough, Lord" he said "Take my life; I am not better than my ancestor."
The angle called him when he slept under the tree, angle prepared a cake of bread baked over hot coals and a jar of water. The angle woke Elijah twice and gave him cake and water.
Elijah ate and drank, strengthened by the food, he walked 40 days and 40 nights, he reached Horeb, the mountain of God.
Why?
Elijah was afraid for Jezebel will kill him, how weak Elijah was, even he did so wonderful work from the Lord. Elijah is a man, he might loss his faith and strength.
This frustrated is came when lost hope, and he forgot that the Lord is still with him.
God arranged angle gave food and water to Elijah, helping Elijah restore his faith and his strength. The gave Elijah two important elements food and sleeping, let Elijah completely restore his physical strength.
Went of Horeb mountain is far away from Jezebel and there is the mountain of God.
How?
When I am frustrated in any situation, remember the Lord is always with me. Go far away place, let me have peace time with the Lord. We need some peaceful and relax time to restore our spiritual life.

Serving the Lord is important than eating and drinking

1 King 18:41-46
Elijah said to Ahab "Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain."
Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees. Elijah said to his servant "Go and look toward the sea". The seventh time the servant reported,"A cloud small as a man's hand is rising from the sea.". Meanwhile, the sky grew black with could, the wind rose, a heavy rain came on.
The power of the Lord came upon Elijah and tucking his cloak into his belt he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel.
Why?
A prophet of the Lord do the work of the Lord is first priority than others, such as go to eat and drink.
The power of the Lord comes upon Elijah, so he may ran ahead of Ahab in stead of riding horses. The Lord can do anything beyond the man for he is the Lord.
Elijah obeyed the commands of God, so the Lord may worked through Elijah.
How?
Don't wonder the power and the sovereignty of the Lord.
Love the Lord for his mercy is better than our life. Serving the Lord is important than eating and drinking.

How long wil you waver between two options?

1 King 18:16-40
Ahab thought Elijah is trouble of Israel. Actually, Ahab and his family have troubled Israel. He has abandoned the Lord's commands and have followed the Baal's.
"How long will you waver between two options, is the Lord or Ball?", Elijah asked Israel, but they said noting.
Elijah said to them, prepare two bull and let them cut it into pieces and put it on the wood, but not set fire on it. Then call on the name of your God. I will call on the name of the Lord, The God who answered by fire - he is God.
The prophets of Ball and Asherah, 850, shouted louder and slashed themselves with swords and spears from morning until the time for the evening sacrifice. But there was no response, no one paid attention.  It could seen in ceremony of many paganism.
Elijah called to the Lord 'Answer me, O Lord, answer me so that those people will know that you are God and turning their heart back again'. The fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice the wood, the stones and the soil and also water licked up in the trench.
All the people saw this they fell prostrate and cried "The Lord - he is God, The Lord he is God.'
Elijah commands them, seize the prophets of Baal. Don't let anyone get away! They seized them, and Elijah had them brought own to the Kishon Valley and slaughter there.
Why?
The Miracle shows the power and glory of the Lord. Let people knows He is God and turn their heart to the Lord.
The Lord is the fire who burn all the evil things.
How?
Christian as me usually will waver our mind between two options. Not the Lord and other God, but hesitate between solve problem by the way of world or the Lord's way, buy this one or that one, forsake this or forsake that one.
May the Lord reminded me when I make decision with the wisdom of Spirit and honor name of the Lord.

As shre as the Lord almighty who I serve

1 King 18:1-15
   As surely as the Lord your God lives, Obadiah said to Elijah.
As surely Almighty lives whom I serve, Elijah replied.
Obediah was serving king Ahab, but he was a devout believe in the Lord.
Obediah had taken a hundred prophets and hidden them in two caves, and had supplied them with food and water, while Jerebel was killing off the Lord's prophets.
Obadiah wanted to confirm when he went to report Ahab, Elijah will present here , he worry the Spirit of the Lord carries him to somewhere else when he leave Elijah.
Why?
Obedia respected Elijah, for he is a prophet of the Lord, but he was concerning his life when he send message to his master.
A servant of the Lord has devoted his life to the Lord, even he also served a bad master, he helped the prophets of the Lord
Christians living in this world fill with many unjust things. We should remember we are the servants of the Lord, we can do something to be good witness of the Lord. Devote our faith in the Lord.
How?
As surely Almighty lives whom I serve. I will do the right things of the Lord, the only one of the God.

The Lord is our master of life

1 King 17:8-28

When the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land, the words of the Lord came to him,"Go at once to Zarphath of Sidon and stay there. I have commanded a widow in that place to supply you with food."

The widow was poor also, she has only a little oil and flour, she said ," I make meal for myself and my son, that we may ear it - and die." Elijah said to her,' Don't be afraid. Go home and do as you said, But first make a small cake of read for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son. For the Lord says, 'The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord gives rain on the land."

The widow went away and did as Elijah had told her. The flour and oil did ot run dry, in keeping with the word of th Lord spoken by Elijah.

The son of the widow was dead some time later, She said to Elijah," Did you come to remind me of my sin and kill my son?"

Elijah replied "Give me your son?" then, Elijah cried to the Lord and stretched himself out on the boy three times. The Lord heard Elijah's cry, and the boy's life returned to him, and he lived.

When Elijah give him to his mother and said, "Look, you son is alive!" Then the woman said to Elijah,"Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the Lord from your mouth is the truth." 

Why?

More important is the widow followed the words of Elijah, she did a small bread to Elijah and than did it for her self and her son. Originally, she plan make bread for herself and her son only.

The woman finally knew Elijah is a man of the Lord, all his words is the truth, for she experience his son may revived from the death.
People usually thinks the dead is the sin of his own, woman though Elijah came from the Lord to judge her sins.
The Lord will judge our sin, but he is mercy God, he will forgive our sin when we commit our sin in present of the Lord.
How?
The Lord is our master of the life, only the Lord knows how long our life will be. More important is follow his commands and give honor to the Lord, let our life more abundant and meaningful.

Difficult situation testify our faith

1 King 16:21-34, 17:1-6
Omri became the king of Israel, he built a city on the hill, calling it Samaria.
Omri did evil the eyes of the Lord and sinned more than all those before him.
Ahab son of Omri became king of Israel and reigned in Samaria over Israel twenty-two years. He did more evil in the eyes of the Lord than any of those before him, He also married Jezebel daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians.
Elijah said to Ahab, "As the Lord, the God of Osrael, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word."
Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah,"Leave here, turn esatward and hide in the Kerith River. You will drink from the brook, and I have ordered the ravens to feed you there."

Why?
Omri and Ahab still doing evil in the eyes of the Lord, so the angry of the Lord came upon Israel, there was no rain in the land of Israel.
The Lard let Ahab know these is come from the Lord through his servant Elijah.
The Lord provide food for his servant Elijah in special way. By the ravens and a widow with a son, provides the food for him and her family.

How?
Serve the Lord is a heard word but would not let anything. The Lord provides his servant in special way, let us know it is the sovereignty of the Lord and his mercy.
Difficult situation testify our faith, no matter what situation I have, the Lord is my only hope.

Pray to the Lord

1 King 15:25-16-20

Pray for the mercy and grace of the Lord come upon our country

Baasha killed Nadab, son of Jeroboam, he killed Jeroboam’s whole family. He did not leve Jeroboam anyone that breathed, but destroyed them all, according to the word of the Lord.

Baasha did evil in the eyes of the Lord, wwalking in the ways of Jeroboam and in his sin.

The words of the Lord came to Jehu son of Hanani against Baasha. “I lifted you up from the dust and made you leader of my people Israel, but you walked in the ways of Jeroboam and caused my people to sin and provoke me to angry by their sin. Dogs will eat those belonging to Baasha who die in the city and the birds of the air will feed on those who die in the country.”

Zmri, one official of Elah-son of Baasha killed off Baasha’s whole family. He did not spare a single male, whether relative or friend.

Isarelite in the camp heard that Zimri had plotted against the king and murdered him, they proclaimed Omri, the commander of the arm, king over Israel that very day there in the camp. Zimri saw tht the city was taken, he set the palace on fire around him.

Why?

The rebellion kings and murders were running again and again in each evil doing kings of Israel. Their hearts had not God. Their lifes were short and people of Israelite are sinned and living was getting worse.

Jeroboam and Baasha were chosen by the Lord, others were allowed by the Lord what they wanted to do.

How?

When a country leave away from the Lord, the situation will getting worse and the people are sinned against the Lord.
