Give thanks to the Lord for his love endures forever. 2 Chronicles 20:21-37

2 Chronicles 20:21-37
Give thanks to the Lord for his love endures forever.
They returned joyfully to Jerusalem, for the Lord had given them cause to rejoice over their enemies.
Jehoshaphat walked in the ways of his father Asa and did not stray from them; he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, and the people still had not set their hearts on the God of their fathers.
"you made an alliance with Ahziah king  of Israel, the Lord will destroy what you have made." Eliezer prophesied against Jehoshaphat
The invaders quarrel among themselves and leave the spoil溺愛, 毒化 to Judah. Only the alliance with Israel mars損傷 the good record of Jehoshaphat's reign.
Why?
Every thing is right in the eyes of the Lord, but made alliance with wicked nation is evil thing. Be careful to our living and thinking, let us be Holy to the Lord.
Praise and worship God is power to defeat the fear and enemies.
How?
Give thanks to the Lord for his love endures forever.

Be silent and pray ; Zephaniah 1:1-13

Zephaniah 1:1-13
During the reign of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah.
Sweep away everything from the face of the earth.
Punish all who
bow down on the roofs to worship the starry host
avoid stepping on the threshold, who fill the temple of their gods with violence and deceit. Enter other god's temples.
think,' The Lord will do nothing, either good or bad.'
Be silent before the Sovereign Lord, for the day of the Lord is near.
The two previous kings, Manasseh and Amon had brought the religious and morality of Judah to an all-time low. Zephanaah himself may have been of royal blood, tracing his ancestry back to Hezekiah, who was king in Isaiah's day, 70 years or so before.
Zephaniah spells out the same message as Amos, in detail, to Judah.
Why?
The day of Lord would bring untold blessing to all God's people, and destruction to their enemies.
The day of God's judgment on Judah too.
God will judge this world, don't think 'The Lord do nothing.' The Lord give us opportunity to repent and turn to Him.
Be silent, don't complain or angry about the vilent in this world. The day of God is near.
How?
Be silent and pray for those who do not knoe the God.

Struggling to the permanently trouble-free life in heaven; Revelation 7:9-17

Revelation 7:9-17
Great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.
They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
Why?
Christians are not promised a trouble-free life on earth. But they will come through their struggles to the permanently trouble-free life of heave.
The promised land will be no harm, no worry, no tear and have the Lamb as shepherd and with joy and living water.
How?
Here is not trouble-free life on earth, but struggling to the permanently trouble-free life in heaven.

Victory comes through trust in God; 2 Chronicles 20:1-20

2 Chronicles 20:1-20
Moabites and Ammonites with some of the Meunites came to make war on Jehoshaphat. Jehoshaphat resolved斷然的 to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah. The people of Judah came together to seek help from the Lord; indeed, they came from every town in Judah to seek him.
Jehoshaphat cried to the Lord in front of the temple of the Lord,"We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you."
Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.
Jehoshaphat said to his people, "Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful"
There is no account of this war in Kings. Judah's trust in God is amply充分 vindicated.
Again and again the Chronicler stresses that victory comes through trust in God.
Why?
Jehoshaphat knew that the help is from the Lord, so he resolved inquired to the Lord.
For the battle is not ours, but God's. So as the war on the world or county election in Taiwan are in God's hand.
Have faith in the Lord, who will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful. Thank Lord I trust in you.
How?
In Him I trust! Victory comes through trust in God.

There is no injustice or partiality or bribery

2 Chronicles 19:1-11
Jehu the seer went out to meet Jehoshaphat and said to the kin, "Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Because of this, the wrath of the Lord is upon you."
Jehoshaphat appoints judges, "Consider carefully what you do, because you are not judging for man but for the Lord, who is with you whenever you give a verdict. Let the fear of the Lord be upon you. Judge carefully, for with the Lord our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery."
After Romoth-gilead, Jehoshaphat concentrates on home affairs. He appoints civil judges, sets up local law-courts and a mixed court of appeal in Jerusalem.
Why?
Jehoshaphat did a wrong thing to help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord, but he did many good things for the Lord, so the wrath of the Lord is not come upon him soon.
Judge is not judging for man but for the Lord, for the Lord there is no injustice or partiality or bribery, every judge should have this in mind.
Don't judge others for the right of judge man belong to the Lord.
How?
Christian, do anything there is no injustice or partiality or bribery.

Go to hide in an inner room

2 Chronicles 18:12-34
Prophet Micaiah said the right word about the war to king of Israel.
Even he entered the battle in disguise. Someone drew his bow at random and hit the king of Israel between the sections of his armor. All day long the battle raged, and at sunset he died.
Micaiah replied, "You will find out on the day you go to hide in an inner room."
Why?
The inner room is the place where we meet with God and he speaks to us.
It is the place of quiet where Jesus tells us to go when we pray.
How?
Pray to the Lord in an inner room, listen to the word of the Lord!

True and false prophets

2 Chronicle 18:1-11
Now Jehoshaphat had great wealth and honor, and he allied himself with Ahab by marriage. But Jehoshaphat also said to the king of Israel, “First seek the counsel of theLord.”
But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there no longer a prophet of the Lord here whom we can inquire of?”
The king of Israel answered Jehoshaphat, “There is still one prophet through whom we can inquire of the Lord, but I hate him because he never prophesies anything good about me, but always bad. He is Micaiah son of Imlah.”
“The king should not say such a thing,”
All the other prophets were prophesying the same thing. “Attack Ramoth Gilead and be victorious,” they said, “for the Lord will give it into the king’s hand.”
Jehoshaphat's son Jehora marriaed Athaliah, Ahab's daughter. Far from reuniting the kingdom, this link brought near-disaster to Judah in later year.
Why?
A prophet of the Lord say the truth of God, he won't say the words to please men.
A good man should not have too much relationship with the evil one, but for sake of gospel we have to do so. But don't follow them. Blessing of the Lord is always with his sons.
Ture and flse prophets:
It was never easy to distinguish between the two. Jehoshaphat senses from the shallow optimism of their message that these prophets are merely telling Ahab what he wants to hear.

  • The false and the true can only be distinquished by their life and message, not by methods or manner.
  • No true prophet made a prediction which failed to happen; practised or encouraged immorality; or led people away from God and his law.

How?
A follower of the Lord seek the truth, God's word are the truth

The fear of the Lord fell on all the kingdoms of the lands surrounding Judah.

2 Chronicles 17:1-19
The Lord was with Jehoshaphat because in his early years he walked in the ways his father David had followed. He sought the God of his father and followed his commands rather than the practices of Israel.
In the third year of his reign he sent his officials to teach in in the towns of Judah. With them were certain Levites and the priests. They taught throughout Judah, taking with them the Book of the Law of the Lord.
The fear of the Lord fell on all the kingdoms of the lands surrounding Judah.
The Chronicler gives Jehoshaphat, a reforming king like Asa, much more space.
Jehoshaphat builds up strong army and defences. He arranges for the people to be taught the law. And he is much respected by the surrounding nations.
The worship of foreign gods clearly continues in the kingdom, since Jehoshaphat destroys their shrines, as his father had done.
Why?
A nation fear the Lord so affect all the kingdoms of the lands surrounding them.
People do not know the Lord so the king sent officials and priests, Levites to teach people fear the Lord and the Law of the Lord.
How?
Fear the Lord throughout whole nation can affect surrounding nations, so a family fear the Lord may affect surrounding neighbors.

Whose hearts are fully committed to him

2 Chronicles 16:1-14
In the thirty-sixth year of Asa's reign Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah and fortified Ramah to prevent anyone from leaving or entering the territory of Asa king of Judah. Asa tool the silver and gold and sent to Ben-Hadad king of Aram, who was ruling in Damascus. Asked Aram help him break the treaty with Baasha king of Israel so he will withdraw from Judah.
The Lord sent the seer Hanani to Asa and said to him: "Because you relied on the king of Aram and not on the Lord your God, the army of the king of Aram has escaped from your hand. ... For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war."
Asa's faith weakens under test in his later years. Under threat from Israel he calls in foreign aid from Syria. And in sickness he turns, not to God, but to 'doctors'. These may in fact be mediums or medicine-men, since 'this is the only time in the Bible that consulting physicians is considered a sin'. Nonetheless, in death, his people honour him.
Fire: Not a cremation, but the burning of spices.
Why?
A good king in eyes of the Lord fails in his trust on the Lord in his later years.
Too easy life or rest for a long time, his faith was weakened.
Trust on the Lord is a life time lesson to everyone who follow the Jesus. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.(1 Peter 5:8) 務要謹守,警醒。因為你們的仇敵魔鬼,如同吼叫的獅子,遍地遊行,尋找可吃的人。
How?
The eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. Trust in Him.

If you seek the Lord, he will be found by you

2 Chronicles 15:1-19
The Spirit of God came on Azariah son of Oded.
The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. But in their distress they turned to the Lord, the God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found by them.
But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.
They assembled at Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of Asa’s reign. They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their ancestors, with all their heart and soulThey sought God eagerly, and he was found by them. So the Lord gave them rest on every side.
King Asa also deposed his grandmother Maakah from her position as queen mother, because she had made a repulsive image for the worship of Asherah. Asa cut it down, broke it up and burned it in the Kidron Valley.
There was no more war until the thirty-fifth year of Asa’s reign.
Why?
Asa keep God's decrees and obeyed his commandment, so God blessed him, and then sent priest Azariah to encourage him.
When Asa heard this words of the Lord, he ordered all his people come to seek the Lord, so the Lord gave them rest on every side.
Obey the commandment the Lord not only seek the Lord with all my heat and all my soul , but also get rid of the evil things, idols and detestable images.
Take courage to seek the Lord, because from eyes of man that seems no hope, seems impossible, but it is true if seek the Lord will be found. Maybe it will take a little time.
How?
Take courage to seek the Lord, He will be found by us.

Do what is good and right in the eyes of the Lord.

2 Chronicles 14:1-15
Asa reigned in Judah, in his days the land had rest for ten years. He had no war in those years, for the Lord gave him peace. He did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God.
Zerah the Ethiophian came out against them with an army of a million men and 300 chariots. Judah had an army of 300,000 armed with large shield and spears and 280,000 men from Benjamin that carried shields and drew bows.
Asa cried to the Lord his God, "O Lord, there is non like you to help, between the mighty and the weak. Help us, O Lord our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this multitude, O Lord you are our God; let not man prevail against you."
Why?
On the number between Judah and Ethiophian, Ethiophian had multiple army than Judah, but Asa cried to the Lord and God helped them so they defeated Ethiophian.
God listens the pray of one who did what is good and right in the eyes of the Lord.
Sometime we can't identify does it make a right choice, but the principle of the Lord is existing and consistence, the Love others, respect life and honor the name of the Lord.
How?
Do what is good and right in the eyes of the Lord.

We keep the charge of the Lord our God

2 Chronicles 13:1-22
Abijah went out to battle, having an army of valiant men of war, 400,000 chosen men. And Jeroboam drew up his line of battle against him with 800,000 chosen mighty warriors.
We keep the charge of the Lord our God, but your have forsaken him. Behold God is with us at our head, and his priests with with their battle trumpets to sound the call to battle against you. O son of Israel, do not fight against the Lord.
Jeroboam had sent an ambush around to come upon them from behind. When the men of Judah raised the battle shout, God defeated Jeroboam and all Israel fled before Judah, and God gave them into their hand.
Jeroboam did not recover his power in the days of Abijah.
Why?
Abijah rely on the Lord and he keep the charge of the Lord, so God helped them defeated Jeroboam, even Israel had double chosen men than Judah, but the victory is not depend on the men but on the Lord Almighty.
Priests blew the trumpets mean attack the enemy, and the men of Judah cried to the Lord, it is asked for the help from the Lord.
How?
Judah prevailed because of the Lord, so as we conquered the trouble because of the Lord. Keep the charge of the Lord our God.

Revere the Lord from our heart, it is not a custom!

2 Chronicles 12:1-16
Because they had been unfaithful to the Lord, Shishak king of Egypt attacked Jerusalem in the fifth year of King Rehoboam.
This is what the Lordsays, ‘You have abandoned me; therefore, I now abandon you to Shishak.
The leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, "The Lord is just."
They will, however, become subject to him, so that they may learn the difference between serving me and serving the kings of other lands.
Why?
The Lord is just, what evil had done, what consequence will come also.
When we humble ourselves for our sins, God gives us the opportunity to live, but however, God will let us learned the lesson through the suffering or pain, in order improve our spiritual life.
Live too easy may lead people abandon the Lord, forget the just of the Lord. Fear the Lord and humble ourselves is not a custom but revere God from heart. God should be put on the first priority in my life.
How?
Love the Lord with all my heart, all my soul and all my strength. It is not a living custom but humble myself. .

Conscious of priests and Levites

2 Chronicles 11:1-23
Rehoboam lived in Jerusalem and built up towns for defense in Judah.
The priests and Levites from all their districts throughout Israel sided with him. The Levites even abandoned their pasture lands and property, and came to Judah and Jerusalem because Jeroboam and his sons had rejected them as priests of the Lord.
Rehonaom had eighteen wives and sixty concubines twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters.
Timely word from Shemaiah averts civil war. Instead, Rehoboam concentrates on fortifying his tiny kingdom against attack from her larger and stronger neighbours, particularly Israel and Egypt.
Refugee priests flock to Judah from Israel following Jeroboam's measures to break the religious ties with Jerusalem.
Why?
Rehoboam like his father Solomon had many wives and concubines, but his live is corrupt either.
Good priests abandoned their pastureland and property, and came to Judah to be the people of God.
How?
Priests and Levites are the people of the Lord, They had their conscious to do the right things.

Wise elders and proud young men

2 Chronicles 10:1-19
But Rehoboam rejected the advice the elders gave him and consulted the young men who had grown up with him. Those young men and Rehoboam were proud and spoke boast and cruelly.
So Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David this day.
In Chroniclers does not recognize the kings of Israel. Only David's descendants re the nation's true kings. From the time of the split he therefore largely ignores the northern kingdom, and frequently refers to Judah's 'Israel'. Even so, the ten tribes are still considered part of the Israelite nation, and contain elements which continue loyal to God and to the rightful king.
Rehoboam inherits from Solomon a wealthy kingdom beginning to how signs of weakness. By the time of his death only a fraction of that land and income are left to be handed down to his successor.
Why?
This is why: one of many places in the Old Testament where an event is attributed directly to God without reference to human freedom of choice.
Young men have more new mind and usually against the tradition. But about the management and social experience young men need listen to the elder men.
When a king turn way from the Lord, God will make some other one to be the new king to replace him.
How?
No one and his inheritance always can be the king, no one can be stand firm forever if he does not follow the decrees of the Lord.

God's promise is never fail.

2 Chronicles 9:13-30
Silver was considered of little value in Solomon's day.
King Solomon was greater in riches and wisdom than all the other kings of the earth.
Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.
The extent of Solomon's kingdom fulfills God's promise to Abraham.
V21 'Ships plying to Tarshih' in Spain is highly unlikely. Probably 'ocean-going ships' as in Kings.
V 29 All of these sources are now lost to us. Two of Ahijah's prophecies are recorded in 1 Kings 11 and 14.
David ruled over Israel forty years either.
How?
God's promise is never fail. His words are trust worthy!

Overwhelmed

2 Chronicles 9:1-12
The queen of Sheeba visits Solomon with great gift. She fave the king 120 talents of gold, large quantities of spices, and precious stones. There had never been such spices as those the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.
Queen Sheeba was overwhelmed by Solomon's wisdom and what she saw in Jerusalem.
The Chronicler includes the visit as an illustration of Solomon's widespread fame and reputation.
v 10 Algum: A foreign word, the almug檀香.
Why?
It shows the prosperity of king Solomon under the blessing of the Lord.
Queen Sheeba was subdued to king Solomon for his wisdom and all their regulation and officials in Jerusalem.
How?
How great it is uner the blessing of the Lord!

Daily requirement for offerings

2 Chronicles 8:1-18
Solomon sacrificed burnt offerings to the Lord, according to the daily requirement for offerings commanded by Moses for Sabbath, New Moons and the three annual feasts- the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Tabernacle.
Solomon rebuilding the villages that Hiram had given him and settled Israelites in them and trade by ships.
Why?
The Chronicler is silent on Solomon's many foreign wives and their influence, apart from what may be implied here.
Everything is successful completed, it may let heart go lust and apart from the Lord.
How?
Keep daily requirement for the bible reading and prayer may keep good relation with the Lord

God has revealed the results of the two ways

2 Chronicles 7:11-22
The Lord appeared to Solomon.
The Lord answered the prayer of Solomon, "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked way, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and will heal their land."
"If you walk before me as David your father did, and do all I command, and observe my decrees and laws, I will establish your royal throne, You shall never fail to have a man to rule over Israel. But if you turn way and forsake the decrees and commands I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them, then I will uproot Israel from my land, and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name."
In a second appearing, God agrees o ll Solomon's requests. But in return he expects loyal obedience.
Why?
The Chronicler's readers, looking back to the fall of Jerusalem and the years of exile that followed, would see in these waring verses the reason for those tragic events.
There is one way to survive and have peace on the promise land is observe the decrees of the Lord.
To a man 1)Pray by the Name of the Lord, humble himself, 3)pray and seek God's face 4)turn from their wicked way. The salvation of the Lord will come upon him.
How?
God has showed us the ways to choose, walk on his way or go off his way to other gods.

He is good, his love endures forever!

2 Chronicles 7:1-10
King Solomon finished praying. Fire came down from heaven and consumed the burned offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. All the Israelites saw the fire they knelt on the pavement with their face to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying, "He is good, his love endures forever."
The king and all the people dedicated the temple of God.
They celebrated it before the Lord for seven days and seven days more.
The seven days of festivity run on into the week-long Feast of Tabernacles, with a final day of solemn莊嚴 meeting before they all disperse.
Why?
Flame burns up the sacrifices in token of God's presence and approval.
The glory of the Lord filled the temple, even priests can't enter. So as Holy Spirit fill the church that people can't stand.
When a new church is built, we will dedicate this church to the Lord either. All of these are belong to God.
How?
He is good, his love endures forever! Remember it!

Rejoice in God's goodness

2 Chronicles 6:22-42
When people comes to take an oath and swears the oath before your altar in this temple, then hear them from heaven and act. Judge between your servants, repaying the guilty by bringing down on his own head what he has done. Declare the innocent not guilty and so establish his innocence.
What ever disaster or disease come, or they sin against you, they repent and turn back and confess your name, and when a prayer of plea is made by any of your people, then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Forgive, and deal with each man according to all he does, since you know his heart.
V41-42 A free quotation of Psalm 132:8-10 which the Chronicler has added.
Now arise, O Lord God, and come to your resting place, you and the ark of your might. May your priests, O Lord God, be clothed with salvation, may your saints rejoice in your goodness. O Lord God, do not reject your anointed one. Remember the great love promised to David your servant.
Why?
God knows our heart, whenever people turn back to God and prayer of plea is make by anyone, God will hear from heaven. God loves us.
How?
Rejoice in God's goodness, his salvation is come!

God put his Holy Name in churches now!

2 Chronicles 6:1-21
Solomon said "The Lord has said that he would dwell in a dark cloud. I have built a magnificent temple for you, a place for you to dwell forever."
Solomon's prayer of Dedication before the alter of the Lord in front of the whole assembly of Israel and spread out his hands.
There is no God like you in heaven or on earth - you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way.
But will God really dwell on earth with men? The heavens, even the highest heavens, cannot contain you. How much less this temple I have built!
May your eyes be open toward this temple day and night, this place of which you said you would put you Name there. May you hear the prayer your servant prays toward this place.
Why?
God does not dwell on earth with men, or dwell in the temple Solomon built for God. The Lord put his holy name there, so Solomon prayed to the Lord listen to his servant pray when they pray toward this place.
The ground for this prayer, and all prayer, is the fact that God and his promises are utterly dependable. The requests are based on other vital facts about God: his love for his people; his absolute moral standards; his readiness to hear and forgive those who genuinely真正 turn way from wrongdoing.
How?
God's holy name with power and glory. Praise be to the Lord! God put his Holy Name in churches now!

There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets

2 Chronicles 5:1-14
There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets that Moses had placed in it at Horen where the Lord made a covenant with the Israelites after they came out of Egypt.
All the priests who were there had consecrated themselves, regardless of their divisions.
They were accompanied by 120 priests sounding trumpets. The trumpeters and singers joined in unison, as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to the Lord.
He is good; his love endures forever.
The Ark is installed with joyful music and singing and great thanksgiving. The glory of God's presence fill the Temple.
Why?
It is great opening so all the priests come and regardless of their divisions.
There were many trumpets and singers joined in unison, as with one voice. All their heart in one to worship the Lord.
The Ark is a symbol of the Lord, there were two tablet means the words of the Lord everyone has to observe it.
How?
Observe the word of God, eat it leading us no hungry and no thirsty in physical and spiritual life.

The quality of service heart to the Lord.

2 Chronicles 4:1-22
Hiram finishes the work that he did for King Solomon on the house of God: the two pillars, the two bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars; the two sets of network decorating the two bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars; the four hundred pomegranates for the two sets of network (two rows of pomegranates for each network, decorating the bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars); the stands with their basins;  the Sea and the twelve bulls under it;  the pots, shovels, meat forks and all related articles.
The weight of the bronze was not sought.
The inner doors to the Most Holy Place and for the doors of the nave of the temple were of gold. all the vessels that were made of gold.
Why?
Chronicler is let people know that there were many articles in the house of God. Most precious place is the Most Holy Place, so all of the articles were made of gold.
How?
Doing God's work should be scheduled, in order ,with the best idea and best material, so as our service heart to the Lord.

The Most Holy Place

2 Chronicles 3 1:17
Solomon began to build the house of the Lord in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to David his father, on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
The Most Holy Place, its length, corresponding to the breadth of the house, was 20 cubits, and its breadth was 20 cubits. He overlaid it with 600 talents of fine gold.
In the Most Holy Place he made two cherubim of wood and overlaid them with gold.
In front of the house he made two pillars 35 cubits high, whit a capital of five cubits on the top of each. The pillars in front of the temple, one on the south, the other on the north; that on the south he called Jachin, and that on the north Boaz.
Why?
Solomon followed the command and instructions of his father David to build the house of the Lord.
The Most Holy Place is the most important part of the house and it is the symbol of the Lord.
How?
Worship center is the Lord, worship the Lord with sacred heart, mind and soul.

Endowed with intelligence and discernment

2 Chronicles 2:1-18
Solomon gave orders to build temple for the Name of the Lord and a royal palace for himself.
He sent message to Hiram king of Tyre for the logs and skilled man n gold and silver, bronze.. and experienced in the art of engraving with Israel skilled craftsmen. Solomon will give him twenty thousand cors of ground wheat, twenty thousand cors of barley, twenty thousand baths of wind and twenty thousand baths of olive oil.
Hiram agreed this request and send Huram-Abi, a man of great skill, work with Solomon's men in Jerusalem.
Hiram agreed because the Lord loves his people, he has made Solomon as their king.
Hiram said that God has given King David a wise son, endowed 天賦 with intelligence and discernment.
Who is able to build a temple for God, since the heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain him? Who am I to build a temple for him, except as a place to burn sacrifices before him?
Why?
Solomon not only built temple for the Lord but also built a palace for himself, so he made many people as slave for this construction.
Hiram, king of Tyre, acknowledge that the Lord is God, praise be to the Lord.
Solomon is endowed with intelligence and discernment so he has much achievement from the Lord, but the selfish heart is gradually increasing.
How?
Solomon was humble to build temple for the Lord at this moment. Endowed with intelligence and discernment is gift from the Lord.

Wisdom and knowledge. 2 Chronicles

2 Chronicles 1:1-17
Solomon asked God for wisdom and knowledge, that he ma ed this people, for who is able to govern this great people of God's?
God gave Solomon not only wisdom and knowledge, but also wealth, riches and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.
The time is the 10th century BC. Solomon is now in firm charge of his father David's kingdom. God gives him the wisdom he asks for, plus power, wealth and fame.
Shephelah/foothills: The low hills between Judea and the Philistine coastal plain.
Why?
Solomon knew that it is the Lord rules this kingdom, so he worshiped the Lord first at Gibeon first. God's Tent of Meeting was there.
Solomon has the heart to manage the kingdom God has assigned him to rule over. So the Lord gives him wisdom and knowledge and more are the wealth and honor.
How?
Wisdom and knowledge is more important than wealth and honor. Wisdom comes from the Lord.

Praise be to the Lord

1 Chronicle 29:10-29
Praise be to you, O Lord, God of our father Israel from everlasting to everlasting.
Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;  you are exalted as head over all
Wealth and honor come from you you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.
13 Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.

Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.
We are aliens and strangers in your sight. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope.
His prayers no other passage does, just why this man could be described as 'a man after God's own heart'.
Why?
Praise be to the Lord, He is worthy to be praised.
God is exalted as head over all, rules all over the world. He is majesty, greatness and power and glory, who can compare with the Lord.
All I have is come from the Lord, what I can give to the Lord comes from God.
Our life like a shadow, soon will be disappear, it is very short. What is the most importance in my life. It is to worship and honor name of theLord.
How?
Praise be to the Lord, I am glad I can be redeemed from the sin and be one of the God's kingdom.

Willing, joyful response from the people to the Lord

1 Chronicles 29:1-9
David have provided for the temple of God, he also asked the whole assembly help Solomon build this great task because this palatial富麗堂皇 structure is for the temple of my Lord.
David devoted 3,000 talents(110 tons) of gold and 7,000 talents(260 tons) of refined silver for the overlaying of the walls of the buildings.
The leaders of families, officers of the tribes of Israel, the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds and the officials in charge of the king's work gave willingly. They gave toward the work on the temple of God 5,000 talents(190tons) and 10,000 darics(84 kg) of gold, 10,000talents(375 tons) of silver, 8,000 talents(675tons) of bronze and 100,000 talents(3750 tons) of iron.
In addition to all he has put by over the years, David mkes a last lavish personal gift for the Temple building fund.
His example and appeal calls forth a willing, joyful response from the people, and the gifts pour in.
Why?
The work of temple of God is not the work of David but also the work of whole Israelites. It is related to the nations.
David make an example behavior to love the Lord, so people willing response to the Lord also.
How?
Willing and joyful devoting to the Lord is please to the Lord, for God sees our hearts.

Remarks: Thank the Lord listened to my prayer yesterday, let me solve the IDL problem of make KML image.

Understand and discern the mind of the Lord

1 Chronicles 28:11-21
David gave his son Solomon the plans of all that the Spirit had put in his mind for the temple of the Lord. He gave him instructions for the divisions of the priests and Levites, and for all the work of serving in the temple of the Lord, as well as for all the articles to be used in its service. He designated劃定 the weight of gold for all the gold articles to be used in various kinds of service and the weight of silver for all the silver articles to be used in various kinds of service.
The design is god-given, closely folowing the pattern given to Moses for the construction of the Tabernacle. At the same time, David hands over the lists of Temple duties.
Why?
All of the plan of the Temple was geven from the Lord throught the Holy Spirit put in David's mind. So somehow we had idea or mind could be put from the Lord when we follow the Lord closely.
How?
Pray to the Lord and had good relationship with God, we will understand and discern to the vision of the Lord.

Unswerving in carrying of the commands and laws of the Lord

1 Chronicles 28:1-10
David declared his plan to build house of God to all the officials of Israel whom was assembled at Jerusalem.
God said to David:'Solomon our son is the one who will build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be my son and I will be his father. I will establish his kingdom forever if he is unswerving堅定不移 in carrying of my commands and laws, as is being done at this time.'
David told Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with whole hearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.
The story interrupted by the lists at 23:2 is now piked up again. A formal public assembly marks Solomons' official coronation加冕, after the hasty affair of 1 Kings, David presents his son to the people and gives him a solmn莊嚴 charge before committing the plans for the temple to his care.
Why?
David publicly marks Solomons' official coronation to confirm his authority over Israel, and reminds all that unswerving in carrying of the commands and laws of the Lord is the essential foundation.
Yes, seek the Lord, he will be found by you.
Whole heart devotion: do not keep any small part to devote the God. Give authority of mine to the Lord. Let God be my Lord.
Willing mind: be joyful and lovely to do the service for the Lord.
How?
Serve the Lord with whole hearted devotion and with a willing mind. For the Lord searches every hearts and understands every motive behind the thoughts.

Complete number and completely serve the Lord

1 Chronicles 27:1-34
Heads of families, commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, and their officers, who served the king in all that concerned the army divisions that were on duty month by month throughout the year. Each division consisted of 24,000 men.
Benaiah is son of Jehoiad the priest and the commander for the third month who was a mighty man among the Thirty and was over the Thirty.
All 12 army commanders seem to have come from David's special guard of 'mighty men'
The officers in charge of the tribes, those in charge of the king's property - storehouses, produce and livestock - and his personal advisers.
Why?
Those under 20 were not eligible for military service and so were never counted.
'King's friend' is an official title.
12 tribes, 12 months, 24000 men for each division, 12 Levites in 24 divisions of Priests,12 members in  each 24 singer group. Twelve is a complete number in Bible.
How?
Manage a nation need many capable men, same as church need many honest Christians to serve God and honor God's name.
