I give to the Levites all the tithes in Israel as their inheritance in return for the work they do while serving at the tent of meeting

 Numbers 17-19

So Moses spoke to the Israelites, and their leaders gave him twelve staffs, one for the leader of each of their ancestral tribes, and Aaron’s staff was among them. Moses placed the staffs before the Lord in the tent of the covenant law. The next day Moses entered the tent and saw that Aaron’s staff, which represented the tribe of Levi, had not only sprouted but had budded, blossomed and produced almonds.

The Lord said to Aaron, “You, your sons and your family are to bear the responsibility for offenses connected with the sanctuary, and you and your sons alone are to bear the responsibility for offenses connected with the priesthood. Bring your fellow Levites from your ancestral tribe to join you and assist you when you and your sons minister before the tent of the covenant law. They are to be responsible to you and are to perform all the duties of the tent, but they must not go near the furnishings of the sanctuary or the altar. Otherwise both they and you will die. They are to join you and be responsible for the care of the tent of meeting—all the work at the tent—and no one else may come near where you are.

Then the Lord said to Aaron, “I myself have put you in charge of the offerings presented to me; all the holy offerings the Israelites give me I give to you and your sons as your portion, your perpetual share. You are to have the part of the most holy offerings that is kept from the fire. From all the gifts they bring me as most holy offerings, whether grain or sin[a] or guilt offerings, that part belongs to you and your sons. Eat it as something most holy; every male shall eat it. You must regard it as holy.

The Lord said to Aaron, “You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any share among them; I am your share and your inheritance among the Israelites.

I give to the Levites all the tithes in Israel as their inheritance in return for the work they do while serving at the tent of meeting.

Why?

The staff of Armon was not only sprouting but had budded, blossomed, and produced almonds. It is out of nature's rule for almonds, so it symbolize it is the work of the Lord and God's chosen in on Armon tribe.

The Lord said to Moses, “Put back Aaron’s staff in front of the ark of the covenant law, to be kept as a sign to the rebellious. This will put an end to their grumbling against me, so that they will not die.” Moses did just as the Lord commanded him.

How?

The tithes in Chriatisns are belong to the Lord, so we give tithes today to honor the Lord and represent out devoteion and thanks giving from our Lord. I am glad that I have this a little opportunity to serve the Lord. All I have is the grace of the Lord!

In the morning the Lord will show who belongs to him and who is holy, and he will have that person come near him

 Numbers 15-17

Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘After you enter the land I am giving you as a home and you present to the Lord food offerings from the herd or the flock, as an aroma pleasing to the Lord—whether burnt offerings or sacrifices, for special vows or freewill offerings or festival offerings— then the person who brings an offering shall present to the Lord a grain offering of a tenth of an ephah of the finest flour mixed with a quarter of a hin of olive oil. With each lamb for the burnt offering or the sacrifice, prepare a quarter of a hin of wine as a drink offering.

With a ram prepare a grain offering of two-tenths of an ephah of the finest flour mixed with a third of a hin of olive oil, and a third of a hin of wine as a drink offering. Offer it as an aroma pleasing to the Lord.

When you prepare a young bull as a burnt offering or sacrifice, for a special vow or a fellowship offering to the Lord, bring with the bull a grain offering of three-tenths of an ephah of the finest flour mixed with half a hin of olive oil.

You and the foreigner shall be the same before the Lord: The same laws and regulations will apply both to you and to the foreigner residing among you.’

When Moses heard this, he fell facedown. Then he said to Korah and all his followers: “In the morning the Lord will show who belongs to him and who is holy, and he will have that person come near him.

He has brought you and all your fellow Levites near himself, but now you are trying to get the priesthood too. It is against the Lord that you and all your followers have banded together. Who is Aaron that you should grumble against him?”

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Separate yourselves from this assembly so I can put an end to them at once.

Moses got up and went to Dathan and Abiram, and the elders of Israel followed him. He warned the assembly, “Move back from the tents of these wicked men! Do not touch anything belonging to them, or you will be swept away because of all their sins.”

As soon as he finished saying all this, the ground under them split apart and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them and their households, and all those associated with Korah, together with their possessions. They went down alive into the realm of the dead, with everything they owned; the earth closed over them, and they perished and were gone from the community. At their cries, all the Israelites around them fled, shouting, “The earth is going to swallow us too!”

So Eleazar the priest collected the bronze censers brought by those who had been burned to death, and he had them hammered out to overlay the altar, 40 as the Lord directed him through Moses. This was to remind the Israelites that no one except a descendant of Aaron should come to burn incense before the Lord, or he would become like Korah and his followers.

But 14,700 people died from the plague, in addition to those who had died because of Korah. Then Aaron returned to Moses at the entrance to the tent of meeting, for the plague had stopped.

Why?

The Lord is Holy; who can despise the servants of the Lord? No one, every God's people is chosen by the Lord. If anyone did something wrong, the Lord will judge them. We do not have the authority to judge other brothers or sisters.

God is love and faithful. So we should honor the Holy name of the Lord, and love each other, with love and grace, and keep ourselves from sins.

How?

Do my best to be a good Christ-like Christian, with love, faith, and hope.

But this is not true of my servant Moses; he is faithful in all my house

 Numbers 12-14

Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite. Has the Lord spoken only through Moses?” they asked. “Hasn’t he also spoken through us?” And the Lord heard this.

But this is not true of my servant Moses; he is faithful in all my houseWith him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the LordWhy then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

When the cloud lifted from above the tent, Miriam’s skin was leprous—it became as white as snow. Aaron turned toward her and saw that she had a defiling skin disease, and he said to Moses, “Please, my lord, I ask you not to hold against us the sin we have so foolishly committed. Do not let her be like a stillborn infant coming from its mother’s womb with its flesh half eaten away.

These are the names of the men Moses sent to explore the land. (Moses gave Hoshea son of Nun the name Joshua.

We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”

That night all the members of the community raised their voices and wept aloud. All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, “If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness! Why is the Lord bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword?

Why?

Aron and Miriam talk against Moses, they did not know Mose if faithful in all God's house.

After Moses pleaded to the Lord, the Lord let Miriam had chance to recover from leprosy.

Israelites heard the situation of the people in the promised land, and they lost their faith in the Lord. And complained to the Lord. They had totally forgotten what the Lord had done for them from Egypt until now.

How?

If I failed in my work, or lost my health, or lost everything I have, what would I do? Trust in the Lord and keep faith in the Lord, my life, my health, and my possessions are the gift of the Lord. Without the Lord I have nothing.

Is the Lord’s arm too short? Now you will see whether or not what I say will come true for you

 Numbers 9-11

The Lord spoke to Moses in the Desert of Sinai in the first month of the second year after they came out of Egypt.

So Moses told the Israelites to celebrate the Passover, and they did so in the Desert of Sinai at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. The Israelites did everything just as the Lord commanded Moses.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Tell the Israelites: ‘When any of you or your descendants are unclean because of a dead body or are away on a journey, they are still to celebrate the Lord’s Passover, but they are to do it on the fourteenth day of the second month at twilight. They are to eat the lamb, together with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. They must not leave any of it till morning or break any of its bones. When they celebrate the Passover, they must follow all the regulations. But if anyone who is ceremonially clean and not on a journey fails to celebrate the Passover, they must be cut off from their people for not presenting the Lord’s offering at the appointed time. They will bear the consequences of their sin.

The Lord said to Moses: Make two trumpets of hammered silver, and use them for calling the community together and for having the camps set out.

The divisions of the camp of Judah went first, under their standard. Nahshon son of Amminadab was in command.

Now the people complained about their hardships in the hearing of the Lord, and when he heard them his anger was aroused. Then fire from the Lord burned among them and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp. When the people cried out to Moses, he prayed to the Lord and the fire died down. So that place was called Taberah, because fire from the Lord had burned among them.

The Lord answered Moses, “Is the Lord’s arm too short? Now you will see whether or not what I say will come true for you.

But while the meat was still between their teeth and before it could be consumed, the anger of the Lord burned against the people, and he struck them with a severe plague. Therefore, the place was named Kibroth Hattaavah.

Why?

Honor the Lord and fear the Lord, for the Lord is greater and beyond us. Why do people complain that they had no meat? Be aware that our Lord is Almighty God, God supports anything we need, but the Lord won't give us to achieve our desire.

How?

Let us have faith in the Lord, and with love and faith in our daily life to serve each other.

Take the Levites from among all the Israelites and make them ceremonially clean

 Numbers 7-8

So Moses took the carts and oxen and gave them to the Levites. He gave two carts and four oxen to the Gershonites, as their work required, and he gave four carts and eight oxen to the Merarites, as their work required. They were all under the direction of Ithamar son of Aaron, the priest. But Moses did not give any to the Kohathites, because they were to carry on their shoulders the holy things, for which they were responsible.

When the altar was anointed, the leaders brought their offerings for its dedication and presented them before the altar. For the Lord had said to Moses, “Each day one leader is to bring his offering for the dedication of the altar.”

The one who brought his offering on the first day was Nahshon son of Amminadab of the tribe of Judah.

On the second day Nethanel son of Zuar, the leader of Issachar, brought his offering.

On the third day, Eliab son of Helon, the leader of the people of Zebulun, brought his offering.

On the fourth day Elizur son of Shedeur, the leader of the people of Reuben, brought his offering.

On the fifth day Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai, the leader of the people of Simeon, brought his offering.

On the sixth day Eliasaph son of Deuel, the leader of the people of Gad, brought his offering.

On the seventh day Elishama son of Ammihud, the leader of the people of Ephraim, brought his offering.

On the eighth day Gamaliel son of Pedahzur, the leader of the people of Manasseh, brought his offering.

On the ninth day Abidan son of Gideoni, the leader of the people of Benjamin, brought his offering.

On the tenth day Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai, the leader of the people of Dan, brought his offering.

On the eleventh day Pagiel son of Okran, the leader of the people of Asher, brought his offering.

On the twelfth day Ahira son of Enan, the leader of the people of Naphtali, brought his offering.

The Lord said to Moses, Speak to Aaron and say to him, ‘When you set up the lamps, see that all seven light up the area in front of the lampstand.’”

The Lord said to Moses: Take the Levites from among all the Israelites and make them ceremonially clean.

The Lord said to Moses, “This applies to the Levites: Men twenty-five years old or more shall come to take part in the work at the tent of meeting, but at the age of fifty, they must retire from their regular service and work no longer.

25~50 years is the best time in our lives to serve the Lord.

How?

To serve the Lord requires some qualities; they are the chosen ones.

Take a census of the whole Israelite community by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one by on

 Numbers 1-3

The Lord spoke to Moses in the tent of meeting in the Desert of Sinai on the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites came out of Egypt. He said: “Take a census of the whole Israelite community by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one by one. You and Aaron are to count according to their divisions all the men in Israel who are twenty years old or more and able to serve in the army.

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron: The Israelites are to camp around the tent of meeting some distance from it, each of them under their standard and holding the banners of their family.

The Lord said to Moses, Bring the tribe of Levi and present them to Aaron the priest to assist him. They are to perform duties for him and for the whole community at the tent of meeting by doing the work of the tabernacle.

The Lord said to Moses, “Count all the firstborn Israelite males who are a month old or more and make a list of their names. Take the Levites for me in place of all the firstborn of the Israelites, and the livestock of the Levites in place of all the firstborn of the livestock of the Israelites. I am the Lord.”

The Lord also said to Moses, “Take the Levites in place of all the firstborn of Israel, and the livestock of the Levites in place of their livestock. The Levites are to be mine. I am the Lord. To redeem the 273 firstborn Israelites who exceed the number of the Levites, collect five shekels for each one, according to the sanctuary shekel, which weighs twenty gerahs. Give the money for the redemption of the additional Israelites to Aaron and his sons.

Why?

The Lord asked Moses to count the number os Israelites, let them know how many people they were, and after arriving in the promised land, they may count the mercy and grace that the Lord has given them.

Count the man only, for a man means their family and their clans.

Every firstborn man belongs to the Lord; the Levites took all the firstborn of Israel, so redeem them with money. It is like the devotion of all Israelites.

How?

First born is belong to the Lord, so the one ten of our imcome are belong to the either. It is not means God like our money, but it means all we have are the grace of the Lord, this one ten is belong to the Lord.

If they will confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors

 Leviticus 26-27

Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the Lord your God.

Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the Lord.

If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit. Your threshing will continue until grape harvest and the grape harvest will continue until planting, and you will eat all the food you want and live in safety in your land. I will grant peace in the land, and you will lie down and no one will make you afraid.

I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you. You will still be eating last year’s harvest when you will have to move it out to make room for the new.

But if you will not listen to me and carry out all these commands, and if you reject my decrees and abhor my laws and fail to carry out all my commands and so violate my covenant, I will bring on you sudden terror, wasting diseases and fever that will destroy your sight and sap your strength. You will plant seed in vain, because your enemies will eat it. I will set my face against you so that you will be defeated by your enemies; those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee even when no one is pursuing you.

But if they will confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors—their unfaithfulness and their hostility toward me, which made me hostile toward them so that I sent them into the land of their enemies—then when their uncircumcised hearts are humbled and they pay for their sin, I will remember my covenant with Jacob and my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.

These are the decrees, the laws and the regulations that the Lord established at Mount Sinai between himself and the Israelites through Moses.

Why?

The Lord already knows that the Israelites will not listen to the word of the Lord, their hearts are attracted by idols, and they are unfaithful to the Lord.

But the Lord is full of love and mercy to his people, if they confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors and return to the Lord and humble themselves, the Lord will remember the covenant with Abranhsm, and Jacob and Isaac.

Why?

No matter what happened, if anyone confesses his sins and returns to the Lord, there is a way to get salvation from the Lord. For the Lord is full of love, and everyone was a sinner.

It is no my effort or my work, but it is the love and mercy of the Lord come upon me, so I can be a Christian, a son of the Lord. Not because of who I am, but because of who He is, not because of what I have done, but because of God's salvation and great works on me.

How?

Praise the Homy name of the Lord, and give thanks to the Lord, obey God's words forever!

Offering in different season and festivals

 Leviticus 23-24

These are my appointed festivals, the appointed festivals of the Lord, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies.

The Sabbaththe seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, a day of sacred assembly.

The Passover and the Festival of Unleavened BreadThe Lord’s Passover begins at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. On the fifteenth day of that month the Lord’s Festival of Unleavened Bread begins; for seven days, you must eat bread made without yeast.
Offering the First FruitsWhen you enter the land I am going to give you and you reap its harvest, bring to the priest a sheaf of the first grain you harvest.
The Feastival of WeeksFrom the day after the Sabbath, the day you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, count off seven full weeks. Count off fifty days up to the day after the seventh Sabbath, and then present an offering of new grain to the Lord.
The Feastival of TrumpetOn the first day of the seventh month, you are to have a day of sabbath rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. Do no regular work, but present a food offering to the Lord
The Day of AtonementThe tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. Hold a sacred assembly and deny yourselves, and present a food offering to the Lord. Do not do any work on that day, because it is the Day of Atonement.
The Festival of Tabernacles‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh month the Lord’s Festival of Tabernacles begins, and it lasts for seven days. The first day is a sacred assembly; do no regular work. For seven days, present food offerings to the Lord, and on the eighth day hold a sacred assembly and present a food offering to the Lord. It is the closing special assembly; do no regular work.

Olive Oil and Bread Set Before the Lord: Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning continually.

Why?
The Lord asked his people to remember they belong to the Lord, and in their living environment, have many festivals to remember the grace of the Lord and honor the Holy Name of the Lord every day.
Oliver Oil is the best oil before the Lord and human beings. Bread is Israelite main food daily, to worship the Lord daily and provide food to the Priests before the Lord.
How?
We celebrate the New Year each year, and we also need to remember that all we have are the blessings from the Lord, so we should give feedback to all the workers of the Lord in my church. And share our blessing to the needy persons.

 Leviticus 19-20

Be holy because I, the Lord your God, am holy. Each of you must respect your mother and father, and you must observe my Sabbaths. I am the Lord your God.

When you sacrifice a fellowship offering to the Lord, sacrifice it in such a way that it will be accepted on your behalf. It shall be eaten on the day you sacrifice it or on the next day.

When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest.  Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the Lord your God.

Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it.

Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the Lord

Say to the Israelites: ‘Any Israelite or any foreigner residing in Israel who sacrifices any of his children to Molek is to be put to death. The members of the community are to stone him.

If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death.

Why?

Because the Lord is Holy, every Israelite and every Christian needs to keep a holy life, no immoral sexual relationships with others.

How?

This generation is a evil generation, many sins and idol worship are popular, may the Lord blesses me living with pure hear, clean mind and honor the Holy name of the Lord.

The day of Atonment: On the tenth day of the seventh month you must deny yourselves and not do any work

 Leviticus 15,16

When any man has an unusual bodily discharge, such a discharge is unclean. Whether it continues flowing from his body or is blocked, it will make him unclean. This is how his discharge will bring about uncleannes.

When a man is cleansed from his discharge, he is to count off seven days for his ceremonial cleansing; he must wash his clothes and bathe himself with fresh water, and he will be clean. On the eighth day he must take two doves or two young pigeons and come before the Lord to the entrance to the tent of meeting and give them to the priest. The priest is to sacrifice them, the one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering. In this way he will make atonement before the Lord for the man because of his discharge.

When a man has an emission of semen, he must bathe his whole body with water, and he will be unclean till evening.

When a woman has her regular flow of blood, the impurity of her monthly period will last seven days, and anyone who touches her will be unclean till evening.

When Aaron has finished making atonement for the Most Holy Place, the tent of meeting and the altar, he shall bring forward the live goat. He is to lay both hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the wickedness and rebellion of the Israelites—all their sins—and put them on the goat’s head. He shall send the goat away into the wilderness in the care of someone appointed for the task. The goat will carry on itself all their sins to a remote place; and the man shall release it in the wilderness.

Then Aaron is to go into the tent of meeting and take off the linen garments he put on before he entered the Most Holy Place, and he is to leave them there. He shall bathe himself with water in the sanctuary area and put on his regular garments. Then he shall come out and sacrifice the burnt offering for himself and the burnt offering for the people, to make atonement for himself and for the people. He shall also burn the fat of the sin offering on the altar.

This is to be a lasting ordinance for you: On the tenth day of the seventh month you must deny yourselves and not do any work.

“This is to be a lasting ordinance for you: Atonement is to be made once a year for all the sins of the Israelites.”

Why?

It is important to all Israelites and to all Christians. Remember, we were atoned through the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross.

How?

Remember we were sinners and saved by the Lord, keep the love and faith and hope in my life.

Regulations About Defiling Molds

 Leviticus 13

Regulations About Defiling Skin Diseases: The priest is to examine that person, and if the rash has spread in the skin, he shall pronounce them unclean; it is a defiling skin disease.

Regulations About Defiling Molds:

“But if, when the priest examines it, the mold has not spread in the fabric, the woven or knitted material, or the leather article, he shall order that the spoiled article be washed. Then he is to isolate it for another seven days.
These are the regulations concerning defiling molds in woolen or linen clothing, woven or knitted material, or any leather article, for pronouncing them clean or unclean.
Why?
These regulations are used to prevent the molds from spreading and affecting more people get disease. And keep the other people's health.
How?
Even now, we are still fighting many diseases. For our health and joyful living.

Sin offering, the burnt offering and the fellowship offering

  Leviticus 8-9

The Lord said to Moses, “Bring Aaron and his sons, their garments, the anointing oil, the bull for the sin offering, the two rams and the basket containing bread made without yeast, and gather the entire assembly at the entrance to the tent of meeting.” Moses did as the Lord commanded him, and the assembly gathered at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

Then Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and everything in it, and so consecrated them. He sprinkled some of the oil on the altar seven times, anointing the altar and all its utensils and the basin with its stand, to consecrate them. He poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron’s head and anointed him to consecrate him.

He then presented the bull for the sin offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head. Moses slaughtered the bull and took some of the blood, and with his finger he put it on all the horns of the altar to purify the altar.

He then presented the ram for the burnt offering.

On the eighth day Moses summoned Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel. He said to Aaron, “Take a bull calf for your sin offering and a ram for your burnt offering, both without defect, and present them before the Lord.

He slaughtered the ox and the ram as the fellowship offering for the people.

Then Aaron lifted his hands toward the people and blessed them. And having sacrificed the sin offering, the burnt offering and the fellowship offering, he stepped down.

Why?

Here, the blood of bull calf and rams for sin offering, and ox and ram for fellowship offering.

How?

Jesus came to shed his blood for us, so we can erase our sins before the Lord.

Sins unintentionally: the sin they committed becomes known

 Leviticus 4-5

If the anointed priest sins: The Sin Offeringbringing guilt on the people, he must bring to the Lord a young bull without defect as a sin offering for the sin he has committed. He is to present the bull at the entrance to the tent of meeting before the Lord. He is to lay his hand on its head and slaughter it there before the Lord.

If the whole Israelite community sins unintentionally:  the sin they committed becomes known, the assembly must bring a young bull as a sin offering and present it before the tent of meeting. The elders of the community are to lay their hands on the bull’s head before the Lord, and the bull shall be slaughtered before the Lord.
When a leader sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the commands of the Lord his God, when he realizes his guilt and the sin he has committed becomes known, he must bring as his offering a male goat without defect.
If any member of the community sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, when they must realize their guilt. They must bring as their offering for the sin they committed a female goat without defect. They are to lay their hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it at the place of the burnt offering.
If someone brings a lamb as their sin offering, they are to bring a female without defect.
‘Anyone who cannot afford a lamb is to bring two doves or two young pigeons to the Lord as a penalty for their sin—one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering.
The Lord said to Moses: “When anyone is unfaithful to the Lord by sinning unintentionally regarding any of the Lord’s holy things, they are to bring to the Lord as a penalty a ram from the flock, one without defect and of the proper value in silver, according to the sanctuary shekel.[d] It is a guilt offering.
Why?
The Lord let sinners offer an affordable offering to erase their sins, which they had sinned unintentionally, and they had to confess their sins. If they did not confess their sins, it is meaningless to offer a sacrifice or ask for the erasing of their sins.
Here, the sins need to be erased by blood, so Jesus Chris shed the blood on the cross to erase our sins.
How?
Thank Jesus Christ shed for us, and through the trust and faith in Jesus Christ, we can be a family member of the Lord.
