Isaiah 39:1-8
Envoys from Babylon, Hezekiah received the envoys gladly and showed them what was in his storehouses. There was nothing in his palace or in all his kingdom that Hezekiah did not show them.
Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, "Here the word of the Lord Almighty: The time will surely come when everything in your palace, and all that your predecessors have stored up until this day, will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left, says the Lord.
"The word of the Lord you have spoken is good," Hezekiah replied. For he though, "There will be peace and security in my lifetime."
Hezekiah's illness and the embassy from Babylon probably preceded the siege. The events may have been reversed here to provide a lead-in to the following chapters, which focus on Babylon as the world power in later became.
'Peace in my time' was Hezekiah's reaction to the terrible prediction of conquest and captivity. Isaiah could draw no comfort from the thought.
Why?
When Hezekiah recovery from illness, he forgot what is the humble, all he has are God's mercy and grace. It is not the credit of him. So the Lord let Isaiah said the result of his wealth and posses will be carried to Babylon.
The word Hezekiah replied so not good, he considered his own life only. He did not care the future of Judah. It is selfish mind so Isaiah did not comfort from the though. Hezekiah may return to the Lord.
How?
A man is easy forget the mercy and grace from the Lord when he is safe and joy. Be alert! Always keeping humble before the Lord and honor the name of the Lord.

I will walk humbly all my years because of this anguish of my soul
Isaiah 38:1-22
Hezekiah's illness.
Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord. Then the word of the Lord came to Isaiah: Go and tell Hezekiah, 'This is what the Lord, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city.'
A writing of Hezekiah king of Judah after his illness and recovery.:..But what can I say? He has spoken to me, and he himself has done this. I will walk humbly all my years because of this anguish(痛苦) of my soul. Lord, by such things people live; and my spirit finds life in them too. You restored me to health and let me live. Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish. In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; you have put all my sins behind your back. For the grave cannot praise you, death cannot sing your praise; those who go down to the pit cannot hope for your faithfulness. The living, - they praise you, as I am doing today. The Lord will save me, and we will sing with stringed instruments all the days of our lives in the temple of the Lord.
Why?
Once again God listen to the prayer of Hezekiah's pray. For his deeply pray and he wept a lot before the Lord and he did many things to turn his people back to the Lord and erase the idols in his country.
Actions and faith and deeply regression is the key to pray to the Lord.
Hezekiah said the same word as David said "For the grave cannot praise you, death cannot sing your praise"

Praise to the Lord all days of my year, I will sing with instruments before the Lord.

The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this
Isaiah 37:21-38
Isaiah sent a message to Hezekiah:"This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Because you have prayed to me concerning Sennacherib king of Assyria, this is the word the Lord has spoken against him.
Because you rage against me and because your insolence has reached my ears, I will put my hook in your nose and my bit in you mouth, and I will make you return by the way you came.
This will be the sign for you, Hezekiah: "This year you will eat what grows by itself, and the second year what springs from that. But in the third year sow and reap, plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.
I will defend this city and save it, for my sake and for the sake of David my servant!"
Then the angel of the Lord went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morning - there were all the dead bodies! So Sennacherib king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew. He returned to Nineveh and stayed there.
Why?
God did the miracle, it is unbelievable things happened. For God has listened to the prayer of Hezekiah.
Who can against the Lord Almighty, no one can boast before the Lord and Sennacherib insolence has reached God. No arrogance or insolence man could existing before the Lord.

All the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, Lord, are the only God.
Isaiah 37:1-20
When King Hezekiah heard this, he tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and went into the temple of the Lord. It may be that the Lord your God will hear the words of the field commander, whom his master, the king of Assyria, has sent to ridicule the living God, and that he will rebuke him for the words the Lord your God has heard. Therefore pray for the remnantthat still survives.
Hezekiah's Prayer.
It is true, Lord, that the Assyrian kings have laid waste all these peoples and their lands. They have thrown their gods into the fire and destroyed them, for they were not gods but only wood and stone, fashioned by human hands. Now, Lord our God, deliver us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, Lord, are the only God.
Why?
Israelites was sin against the Lord, but king Hezekiah was struggled to lead his nation to the right way to honor the name of God. The situation was very worse he had not capability to fight against Assyria's army, but Sennacherib has sent to ridicule the living God. From king to the children everyone tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and went into the temple of the Lord. God listened to their prayer.
No matter how difficult the situation it is, pray to the Lord, God has mighty hands and strength to deliver us. God is the Lord, God is help us.
My God is the only God. Even I am facing many difficulty in my company.
How?
Pray to the Lord and ask for his help, for my Lord is a real living God.

The Lord will deliver us
Isaiah 36:1-22
Then the king of Assyria sent his field commander with a large army from Lachish to King Hezekiah at Jerusalem. When the commander stopped at the aqueduct of the Upper Pool, on the road to the Launderer’s Field, The field commander said to them, “Tell Hezekiah: This is what the great king, the king of Assyria, says: On what are you basing this confidence of yours?"
“Do not let Hezekiah mislead you when he says, ‘The Lord will deliver us.’ Have the gods of any nations ever delivered their lands from the hand of the king of Assyria?
Then Eliakim son of Hilkiah the palace administrator, Shebna the secretary and Joah son of Asaph the recorder went to Hezekiah, with their clothes torn, and told him what the field commander had said.
The three chapters are a straightforward historical account, after all the prophecies of chapters 1-35. See on 2 Kings 18-20, an almost identical account apart from Isaiah's omission of Hezekiah's initial cave-in to Sennacherib.
Why?
My god is a living God who listen to my pray. God is my savior my fortress and my strength.
Yes the Lord will deliver us, even I have sins when we turn to Him, he will help us.
God makes wonder beyond humans imaging.
God listen to the prayer of a righteousness man.
How?
Fear the Lord and follow God's command, God is the fountain of blessing. The Lord will deliver us.

Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way
Isaiah 35:1-10
Joy of redeemer.
Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”
Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped.
And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it. But only the redeemed will walk there, and those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
Why?
The Redeemer Jesus Christ will come, he makes highway of Holiness and salvation to his followers.
Strengthen the feeble hands and steady the knees that give way.
Jesus did many miracle and wonder, the sign of the Redeemer is the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped, the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy.
How?
Let sing the song to the Redeemer, rejoice with the everlasting king. My Redeemer is here!
