Ezekiel 20:1-32
Some of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the Lord, and they sat down in front of Ezekiel.
I give them my decrees and made known to them my laws, by which the person who obeys them will live. Also I gave them my Sabbaths as a sign between us, so they would know that I the Lord made them holy.
During the way out of Egypt, the people of Israel rebelled against God in the wilderness, They did not follow God's decrees but rejected God's laws - by which the person who obeys them will live - and they utterly desecrated (褻瀆)God's Sabbaths.
As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I will not let you inquire of me. You say, “We want to be like the nations, like the peoples of the world, who serve wood and stone.” But what you have in mind will never happen.
Why?
Some of the elders of Israel still try to inquire of the Lord, but the Lord rejected them and not let them inquire of God. Because Israel have rebelled the Lord, God doesn't want to listen to them, the God's wrath pour on them. For they are rebellion people.
Only those who obey God's word and his prayer will be listened by the Lord.
The person who obeys them will live. Who are not follow God's decrees but rejected God's laws will die!
Sabbath is a sign between Israelite and the Lord, but they desecrated Sabbath, so the Lord leave them away.
But what you have in mind will never happen: it means there are not any blessing among them.
Jesus came there is symbol between each Christan and God, which is the Holy Spirit.
How?
Obey God's command and follow God's word will be allowed come in front of the Lord.

A lament for Israel's Princes
Ezekiel 19:1-14
A lament for Israel's Princes.
What a lioness was your mother among the lions! She lay down among the young lions and reared her cubs.
With hooks they pulled him into a cage and brought him to the king of Babylon. They put him in prison, so his roar was heard no longer on the mountains of Israel.
Your mother was like vine in your vineyard planted by the water; it was fruitful and full of branches because of abundant water.
Fire spread from one of hit main branches and consumed it fruit. No strong branch is left on it fit for a ruler's scepter.
The poem is written in the familiar dirge rhythm. The lioness is Judah; the kings her cubs. The lioness is Judah; the kings her cubs. The first is Jehoahaz, carried off to Egypt by Pharaoh Necho in 609. The second is Jehoiachin. Now, thanks to Zedekiah's rebellion, both the nation and its line of kings will be destroyed.
Why?
God using lioness and vine to describe Israelite, Judah, they were strong lines and strong vine, but they forgot how they could be strong and roared over the nations. It was the Lord who took care of them provided them their needed water and food. When God's favor and love left them, they are nothing at all.
How?
The Lord is my love, my strong hold and my hope and my way. What I have now is the grace of the Lord on me! Praise the Holy name of the Lord and give thanks to the Almighty God.

People should turn away from evil and live
Ezekiel 18:19-32
But if a wicked person turns away from all the sins they have committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, that person will surely live; they will not die.Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?
But if a righteous person turns from their righteousness and commits sin and does the same detestable things the wicked person does, will they live? None of the righteous things that person has done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness they are guilty of and because of the sins they have committed, they will die.
Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, people of Israel? For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent and live!
He holds everyone answerable for their own sins. It gives God no pleasure to sign the death warrant for anyone. His concern, always, is that people should turn away from evil and live. And he makes his standards plain.
Why?
God is not unfair, God's judge is the righteousness and good to man. God hope wicked person turn from their way and back to righteousness. But righteousness man turn to wick will die. God give everyone the chance to turn from wicked. No one is righteousness, keep walking on the right way is the best way.
Die or live decided by ourselves.
How?
Reading God's word everyday and mediate it and check each item in my heart, alway follow God's word.

People will die for his own sin
Ezekiel 18:1-18
“What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land of Israel,
‘The parents eat sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge?'

As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, you will no longer quote this proverb in Israel. For everyone belongs to me, the parent as well as the child—both alike belong to me. The one who sins is the one who will die.
But suppose this son has a son who sees all the sins his father commits, and though he sees them, he does not do such things.
He will not die for his father’s sin; he will surely live. But his father will die for his own sin, because he practiced extortion, robbed his brother and did what was wrong among his people.
Called to account
Contrary to popular, God is not so unjust as to punish one generation for the sins of another.
Why?
Everyone have bear the responsibility of his conducts and his practises. Everyone is belongs to God, God will judge everyone what he has done. Even his father sin, he will die for his own sin.
How?
After Jesus come, everyone heard the good news turn to the Lord or reject the good news, everyone has to bear his responsibility. It is not the sin of whole generation but personal reaction.

Two eagles and a vine.
Ezekiel 17:1-24
Two eagles and a vine.
Will it thrive? Will it not be uprooted and tripped of its fruit so that it withers? All its new growth will wither. It will not take a strong arm or many people to pull it up by the roots. Even if it is transplanted, will it thrive? will it not wither completely when the east wind strikes it - wither away in the plot where it grew?
As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, he shall die in Babylon, in the land of the king who put him on the throne, whose oath he despised and whose treaty he broke. He despised the oath by breaking the covenant. Because he had given his hand in pledge and yet did all these things, he shall not escape.
All his fleeing troops will fall by the sword, and the survivors will be scattered to the winds. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken.
All the trees of the field will know that I the Lord being down the tall tree and make the low tree grow tall. I dry up the green tree and make the dry tree flourish.
Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, who took King Jehoiachin captive. The seed he plants is Zedekiah. But Zekekiah soon turned to Egypt for help, bringing the Babylonians back to destroy Jerusalem. In 587, within three or four years, the prediction came true. But God will take a cutting from the line of Israel's kings which will take root.
Why?
God cared about the oath and treaty. if we made we have to follow it. For the Lord hates the lie or one who despise his oath.
It is the Lord who make plant have rooted and make it grown up. It is the Lord gives them water and good environment. Only God is my Lord, I will trust in Him and follow his word.
How?
God's word will be done, don't doubt it. God's word is my way and my strength.

I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth,
Ezekiel 16:35-63
Because you did not remember the days of your youth but enraged me with all these things, I will surely bring down on your head what you have done, declares the Sovereign Lord. Did you not add lewdness to all your other detestable practices?

Yet I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you. Then you will remember your ways and be ashamed when you receive your sisters.
I will give them to you as daughters, but not on the basis of my covenant with you.
She courted them and worshipped their gods, with all the hideous pracrices that involved. God was forgotten; the covenant broken. God must punish, but will also restore his people, making a new covenant with them that will last for ever.
Why?
Everyone has to bear his own sins, according to what he have done. God deal with Israel for they even did more detestable thing than her surrounding nations. So God's angry came upon them.
How?
God is full of mercy and love but God's righteousness is endure forever either.
