I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent

Luke 4:31-44

On the Sabbath he taught the people. They were amazed at his teaching, because his words had authority.

a man possessed by a demon, an impure spirit. He cried out at the top of his voice, “Go away! What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!”

“Be quiet!” Jesus said sternly. “Come out of him!” Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him.

Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her. So he bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them.

At sunset, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them. 

They tried to keep him from leaving them. But he said, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.” And he kept on preaching in the synagogues of Judea.

Why?

In this world, there are many decisions and men possessed by demons, people are seeking to be healed, but most people don't know the real helper is Jesus Christ.

Christians like us should follow Jesus to preach the good news of the kingdom of God. Healing work and demons are many and never stop for our sins.

Daemon knows Jesus is the Holy One of God, but most people saw this miracle but they did not know to worship this real Son of God.

Simon's mother was healed by Jesus, she knew Jesus so she got up at once to serve Jesus.

Jesus knows his mission is this world is to proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to many.

How?

Not only living for job and living, but preaching the good news of salvation to others.

He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners. and recovery of sight for the blind

Luke 4:14-30

He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written: The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners. and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

“Truly I tell you,” he continued, “no prophet is accepted in his hometown. I assure you that there were many widows in Israel in Elijah’s time, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and there was a severe famine throughout the land. Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow in Zarephath in the region of Sidon. And there were many in Israel with leprosy in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed—only Naaman the Syrian.”

All the people in the synagogue were furious when they heard this. They got up, drove him out of the town, and took him to the brow of the hill on which the town was built, in order to throw him off the cliff. But he walked right through the crowd and went on his way.

Why?

Because people in Nazareth knew Jesus was the son of a carpenter, so they looked down on Jesus. 

Jesus mentioned Elijah, and Elisha chose the widow and healed Naaman the Syrian, they are lower people in Juda and emeny of Juda. So they looked down on Jesus either and were furious about what Jesus said.

People in the synagogue were Priests or teachers, they were more familiar with the word of the Lord. But Jesus said the word they don't like to hear.

We should not be proud of our life or my Christian life, all of us are sinners, and without the love of the Lord coming upon us we are nothing. Maybe we are worse than these priests or teachers

How?

I am a sinner and poor in spirit, dear Lord, please clean me with your Holy Spirit and pour down your wisdom and love on me.

Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness

 Luke 4:1-13

Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.

The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.

And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you worship me, it will all be yours.” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’

“If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here.

Jesus answered, “It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’

When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.

Why?

Jesus accepted three temptations, 1) Hunger for his life, 2) the authority and splendor in this world, and 3) religion, who is the Lord in his life.

People struggle to work for a living, and it is easy to give up on food, after a long time hungry.

Everyone likes the splendor and authority, but Jesus holds on to the principle and his mission.

Worship other gods, if we don't know the real God it is easy to worship other gods. Because I know my Lord is the real God in this universal. I won't be missing the right way.

How?

Jesus Christ is my way, my savior, and my God forever. May the Holy Spirit help me to reject these temptations.

The Genealogy of Jesus is son of God

 Luke 3:23-38

Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry. He was the son, so it was thought, of Joseph,..

…the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.

Why?

Luke described the genealogy of Jesus is the son of Adam, the son of the Lord. It is trace to the beginning of us and Jesus Christ.

How?

I trust in the Lord and Jesus Christ is son of God. Moreover we should let others know this truth, so missionary is needed.

Heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove

Luke 3:15-22

The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might possibly be the Messiah. John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” And with many other words John exhorted the people and proclaimed the good news to them.

But when John rebuked Herod the Tetrarch because of his marriage to Herodias, his brother’s wife, and all the other evil things he had done, Herod added this to them all: He locked John up in prison.

When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”

Why?

People waiting for the Messiah and wondering if John might possibly be the Messiah. But John refused it, He is not the Messiah, and he is not worthy to serve Him.

Herod's marriage to his brother's wife is against the law of the Lord, and it was because of the sexy mind, and the proud heart. 

People saw Jesus was baptized, but many of them did not see the Holy Spirit descend on him.

Jesus is God but because he came to the earth in human style he accepted the baptized too. So we, Christians, have to be baptized either, to accept the Holy Spirit.

What do we see? most time we see what we like to see.

How?

May my might and my heart come closer to the Lord and see what the Lord sees.

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests

Luke 3:1-14

He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

Why?

Jesus is the Savior, the Messiah, who was born in the manger. This is the symbol of our Messiah.

Jesus is the king of Heaven, but He chose the humble way to come to this world.

Jesus brings peace to those on whom his favor rests.

How?

Praise the Lord and give thanks to Jesus Christ. Jesus was born for us and released us from sins.

Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?

Luke 2:40-52

 Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom. After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. 

After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. 

“Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” But they did not understand what he was saying to them.

Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart. And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.

Why?
When Jesus was 12 years old, he showed his identity was different from other children.

Yes, Jesus had to be in my Father's house. But at that time his parent didn't understand what he said.

Jesus still went back with his parent to Nazareth.

A man grows up not only in his body but also in his wisdom and humanity with a comfortable relationship with the Lord and people.

How?

Jesus has shown his identity at twelve years old. His mother treasured all these things in her heart. He is not a common child.
