John 3:22-36
The argument developed between some of John's disciples and a certain Jew over the matter of ceremonial wishing. John replied to this matter.
A man can receive only what is given him from heaven.
Joy is in him when he hears the voice of Jesus, He must become greater; I must become less.
The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what he has seen and hear, but no one accept his testimony.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him.
No trace of bitterness or jealousy sours his gladness at Jesus' God-given success. John is happy to let Jesus take the limelight, and to fade into the background himself.
Why?
Jesus was baptized by John, but Jesus is baptizing also, so there were argument between John's disciples and Jews.
Jesus comes from heaven, his word is truth and relates to the eternal life. Whoever believes in his name has eternal life. Whoever rejects Jesus will not see life, they see the matter on earth only, they belong to the earth.
How?
All I have, all of my capability are comes from heaven, if mercy of the Lord did not come upon me, I will have nothing. I appreciated the gifts and loves from the Lord. I am glad that I believe the Son has eternal life.
