Prayer of a burdened king

Psalm 61:1-8
Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.
Psalmist prayed to the Lord as he was drowned or drop to a pit, so he asked God lead him to the rock that is higher than he.
Psalmist prayed the Lord give king more days and his nation more generations.
God have given me the heritage of those who fear his name.
I long to dwell in God's tent forever.
Maybe David on campaign or fleeing from Absalom and precarious on his throne, the king craves the safety and security only God can give.
Why?
My Heritage is given by the Lord for I fear his name.
Gos is my rock, my refuge and strong tower against the foe.
How?
Fear the Lord so I may have the heritage from the Lord.
