Joshua 13:1-14:5
The other half of Manasseh, the Reubenites and the Gadites had received the inheritance that Moses had given them east of the Jordan, as he, the servant of the Lord, had assigned it to them.
But to the tribe of Levi, Moses had given no inheritance; the Lord, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, as he promised them.
Levites received no share of the land but only towns to live in, with pastureland for their flocks and herds.
Their inheritances were assigned by lot to the nine and a half tribes, as the Lord had commanded through Moses.
Not all the land allocated had been completely subdued- and not every tribes realized its ideal by conquering all its allotted territory.
In several places, as in the previous chapters, the writer comments on the situation in his own day.
1-7: the land still unconquered includes the Mediterranean coast lands and land in the north. But Israel never controlled Phoenicia.
13:8-33 concerns the land east of Jordan already allotted to Reuben, Gad and Manasseh in Moses' time.
14:1-5 Concerning the dividing of the land west of Jordan among the remaining nine and a half tribes.
How?
The promised lands are haven't conquered, it needs faith and courage to get it by themselves. So as to my territory from the Lord.
