Joshua 24:29-33
After these things, Joshua son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died at the age of a hundred and ten.
Joseph’s bones, which the Israelites had brought up from Egypt, were buried at Shechem in the tract of land that Jacob bought for a hundred pieces of silver from the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem.
The strength of Joshua's influence for good.
The contrast between this and the book of Judges, which follows, is marked.
V 32 rounds off the history of the patriarchs as Joseph's bones are buried in the promised land.
110 : This may be an ideal, symbolic age, especially since it matches that of Joseph.
The promise to Joseph is kept. He is laid to rest on the only piece of land that belonged to his father, Jacob.
The family which for long years had only burial-places purchased from the local people now possesses the whole land of Canaan.
How?
God's promises have been done. Trust in the Lord and follow Him is good to us!
