God's glory and his present, cloud

Exodus 40:17-38
Moses ad Aaron and his sons used it to wash their hands and feet. They washed whenever they entered the Tent of Meeting or approached the altar.
Moses finished the work. Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
So the cloud of the Lord was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel during all their travels.
When all is done, God signifies his satisfaction. The cloud, the visible token of God's presence, rests on the Tent, and the place is filled with the dazzling light of God's glory.
For 300 years, until it is replaced by the Temple in Solomon's day, God's Tent will remain the focal center of the nation's worship.
Why?
God present the cloud as His glory. Visible but could not touch it. It is come from somewhere we do not know, and go away like wind, like the Spirit of God.
God is the fire that give us the light and heat to warm us and warn us. The fire may burn the evil men and things but also give us the comfort living.
How?
God is great, He is the Lord, God is the fountain of blessing.

Peace and blessing

Exodus 39:32-40:16
Moses inspected the work and saw that they had done it just as the Lord had commanded. So Moses blessed them.
The Lord said to Moses:"Set up the tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting, on the first day of the first month. Place the ark of the Testimony in it and shield the ark with the curtain. Bring in the table and set out what belongs on it. Then bring in the lampstand and set up its lamps. Place the gold altar of  incense in front of the ark of the Testimony and put the curtain at the entrance to the tabernacle."
When work is finished, God gives Moses his instructions for setting up and arranging the Tent, and for its consecration. Aaron and his sons are anointed for service.
Why?
Moses is a leader so he blessed his people worked for the Lord is good and necessary behavior.
The first day of the first month is an important day to Israel.
How?
God's work is in order and has the consequence of peace and blessing.

HOLY TO THE LORD

Exodus 39:22-31
They made the plate, the sacred diadem, out of pure gold and engraved on it, like an inscription on a seal: HOLY TO THE LORD, Then they fastened a blue cord to it to attach it to the turban(頭巾), as the Lord commanded Moses. Same as Exo28:36
HOLY TO THE LORD: HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD
Zec 14:20 On that day holy to the Lord will be inscribed on the bells of the horses, and the cooking pots in the Lord’s house will be like the sacred bowls in front of the altar.
Only Jesus Christ is worthy to wear the plate Holy To The Lord.
2Chr35:3 For we were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden upon your shoulders: serve now the LORD your God.
Honor the Name of Holy God for God is Holy!

The Lord remember us and calls us by our name

Exodus 39:8-21
The Breastpiece: There were twelve stones, one for each of the names of the sons of Israel, each engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes.
They made two gold rings and attached them to the other two corners of the breastpiece on the inside edge next to the ephod. Two more gold rings and attached them to the bottom of the shoulder pieces on the front of the ephod.
They tied the rings of the breastpiece to the rings of the ephod with blue cord, connecting it to the waistband so that the breastpiece would not swing out from the ephod.

The Breastpiece memory the twelve tribes of Israel, the people of God.
How?
God remembers us and calls us by our name.

Work together for the Lord with one heart, one mind and one body

Exodus 38:21-39:7
The total amount of the gold from the wave offering used for all the work on the sanctuary was 29 talents and 730 shekels, according to the sanctuary shekel.
The silver obtained from those of the community who were counted in the census was 100 talents and 1,775 shekels, according to the sanctuary shekel—  one beka per person, that is, half a shekel, according to the sanctuary shekel, from everyone who had crossed over to those counted, twenty years old or more, a total of 603,550 men.
The bronze from the wave offering was 70 talents and 2,400 shekels.
from the blue, purple and scarlet yarn they made woven garments for ministering in the sanctuary. They also made sacred garments for Aaron, as the Lord commanded Moses.

God is great desinger

Exodus 38:1-20
Altar of burnt offering, 5 x 5 x 3 cubits height.
The basing for washing
The courtyard: south 100 cubits with 20 poles and 20 bases. East 50 cubits; 3 poles and 3 bases on each side, 15 cubits long curtain on one side of entrance

The curtain for the entrance to the courtyard was made of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen—the work of an embroiderer. It was twenty cubits long and, like the curtains of the courtyard, five cubits high, with four posts and four bronze bases.
How?
All of the structure of Tabernacle are made with fine measurement and find architecture. How great is the Lord who designed his place on the world.

Worthy to worship his Holy Name

Exodus 37:1-29
The Ark: two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide and a cubit and a half high. 2.5x1.5x1.5
The Table: two cubits ling, a cubit wide, and a cubit and a half high. 2x1x1.5
The Lampstand : The bud and the branches were all of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold. Seven lamps as well as its wick trimmers and trays, of pure gold.
The Altar of Incense: A cubit long and a cubit wide, and two cubit high. 1x1x2
The Ark of the covenant: At the very centre of this whole divinely-directed religion was the Ark. Everything pointed t it. Three matching entrances led to it for the purpose of entering the court of the Tabernacle was to enter the presence of God himself.
Along the path leading to the Ark lay the altar of burnt-offering and the mercy-seat where the blood of sacrifice was finally sprinkled - showing that it was only by sacrifice, prayer and the effectiveness of the shed blood that people could come to God
How:
God is the center of his followers. For God is the sovereign Lord, worship Him and honor his name is worthy.

The whole structure of the Tabernacle

Exodus 36:20-38
They made upright frames of acacia wood for the tabernacle.
South: 20 frames, North: 20 frames. West: 9 frames.

They also made crossbars of acacia wood: five for the frames on one side of the tabernacle.
The whole structure of the Tabernacle therefore, speaks clear and splendid truths. It provides a visible summary of the central affirmations of the Bible: that God indwells his people; that he intends his people to worship him according to his will and not their own whim; and that only by means of sacrifice and shed blood can sinners ever come to live with the Holy One.
How?
Tabernacle is the worship center among God's people, we are the temple of the Lord now, We worship the Lord in our heart with spirit and honest.

One God, one spirit and one believe to work for the Lord

Exodus 35:30~36:19
Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the Lord has given skill and ability to know how to carry out all the work of constructing the sanctuary are to do the work just as the Lord has commanded.
The people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning until people bringing more than enough for doing the work the Lord commanded to be done.
Why?
Bezalel and Oholiab has the skill and ability to do the word of Tabernacle which is the Lord given them.
God himself find the right men to do the work.
People being freewill offerings to complete the material of Tabernacle. So the Tabernacle is built by all Israelite not only Moses or the skill men.
God's work is a group work, God like his follower come together, we are family.
How?
Work together in God's family shows the Love and Spirit of the Lord.

Bring to the Lord freewill offerings for all the works

Exodus 35:1-29
Moses assembled the whole Israelite community and said to them to obey Sabbath regulations and take materials for the Tabernacle.
Everyone who was willing and whose heart moved him came and brought an offering to the Lord for the work on the tent of Meeting, for all its service, and for the sacred garments.
All the Israelite men and women who were willing brought to the Lord freewill offerings for all the work the Lord through Moses had commanded them to do.
These chapters record how the instructions given in chapters 25-31 are carried out to the letter. The craftsmen set to work, the people pour in their gifts, and the Tabernacle, its fittings and the priests' robes are all completed exactly as God has laid down.
Why?
God like the willing offering to the Lord and it is pleased to the Lord.
More important is execute the commandment of the Lord, not only knew or heard but do it as the Lord commanded.
How?
Do the word of the Lord and bring to the Lord freewill offering are the blessing to us.

Moses' face was radiant, God's glory

Exodus 34:18-35
No one will covet your land when you go up three times each year to appear before the Lord your God.
Moses wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant - the Ten Commandments.
Moses' face was radiant after spoken with the Lord, and they were afraid to come near him. So Moses put a veil over his face when he speaking to them.
Israel's firstborn belong to God, but are'bought back' from him - there is to be no child-sacrifice as in Canaan. They must not forget Sabbath law in the coming busy seasons of sowing and harvest.
The first fruits are to be brought to God, since it is he who makes the land fruitful. Israel is not to resort to the Canaanite practice of boiling a kid in its mother's milk to increase fertility.
Moses' long communion with God shows in his face when he returns to the people; he begins to reflect something of God's own glory.
Why?
Keep mind about the Lord in our heart, then God will protect us without defeat or loss.
Second time Moses got the tablets of the covenant - Ten Commandments. This time is was written by Moses.
The veil is isolation between us and the Lord, after Jesus came, this veil was removed, we can speak with the Lord through Holy Spirit.
How?
When we have long communion with God, we can reflect something of Jesus' glory.

The Lord, the compassionate and gracious God

Exodus 34:1-17
Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.”
Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the and where you are going, or they will be a snare among you.
Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land; for when they prostitute they will invite you ad you will eat their sacrifices.
Do not make cast idols.
The tablets are engraved afresh in token of God's renewal of the covenant. This particular selection of laws is influenced by Israel's recent idol-worship, also by the coming temptations of Canaanite religion.
Why?
Moses commended God's love and faithfulness and compassionate. His love is longer and deeper than punish the wicked or guilty children.
God will make wonder among Israel and blesses his follower.
Do not make a treaty with those who against you. Careful to make a treaty whom I do know, it may be a snare to me.
How?
God is love, his word is my strength and my light. Praise to the Lord!

The glory of God

Exodus 33:12-23
If  you pleased with me, teach me your ways to I may know you and continue to find favor with you.
How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us?
The Lord said to Moses, "I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name."
The Lord said, "I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. But you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live".
God will not go back on his promise, but Israel has forfeited his presence. And without that, the promised land is nothing.
Again Moses pleads for the people at a time of crisis. God's answer encourages him to press a personal plea for a revelation of God in all his splendor(光輝)
Why?
Moses asked good questions to the Lord and the Lord pleased his questions.
God is the Lord, he has the authority to do what he wants, so who may get mercy and compassion depends on the mind of the Lord. God is love.
Each name of man is meaningful to the Lord, it is the identical name.
God is holy could not be seen by sinners, so Moses could see the back of the Lord only.
How?
God knows my by name, his glory and honor endure forever. God is the Lord! Praise to the Lord!

God is good, everything God made are good to man

Exodus 32:30-33:11
Go up to the land flowing with milk and honey. but I will not go with you, because you are stiff-nicked people. My angel will go before you. However, when the time comes for me to punish, I will punish them for their sin.
Israelites stripped off their ornaments at Mount Horeb.
Now Moses used to take a tent and pitch it outside the camp some distance away, calling it the "tent of meeting." Anyone inquiring of the Lord would go to the tent of meeting outside the camp.
Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.
Danger of wearing Ornaments:
God's original plan and purpose is for man to use jewelries, gold and silver as means of exchange, just as we used Euro, Pound sterling, Dollars, Naira and so on. When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Lord asked them to demand for areas of their labor from Egyptians, He wanted the Israelite's to use the treasures they had gathered to buy things from other nations as they proceed to the promised Land. They will need to buy weapons, build houses, build the Lord temple.
The cessation of the practice with Moses appears to have lasted for an indeterminate period with amulets in general going underground or, more correctly, under garment. Most of the Anglo-Saxon people no longer understand the origin of the practice.
Why?
God listened to the prayer of Moses, but God will punish those people at his time according to what they did.
God won't go with them, instead sent his angel go before them. In order avoid Israelite be destroyed. No one is righteous on the world, all are sinner.
God face to face speak to Moses, by the way of explanation 'clearly and not in riddles.'
How?
God is good to man, but people usually use it in wicked way for their sin.

God takes account of human response

Exodus 32:1-29
When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, They got up to indulge in revelry, Aaron allow then to made a calf as their gods by gold and silver from their earring.
God's angry burnt to Israelite, but Moses sought the favor of the Lord.
Moses said to those who come to him, the Levites, "Each man trap a sword to his side. Go back and forth through the camp from one end to the other, each killing his brother and friend and neighbor."
The Lord replied to Moses, "Whoever has sinned against me I will blot out of my book. The Lord struck the people with a plague because of what they did with the calf Aaron had made.
Only six weeks after making their solemn covenant-pledge with God the people are clamouring(吵著) for a replica of the old gods of Egypt. "They were a slave people, still with the minds of slaves, even if God had set them free'.
And Aaron, God's high priest, not only makes the bull-calf, but identifies it with God.
Death is the penalty for those who break covenant - but Israel is saved by the selfless prayer of Moses.
The broken tablets dramatically proclaim the broken covenant. Such sin cannot go wholly unpunished.
Why?
The prayer of Moses 1)according to God's promise and God's concerning 2)Close to the Lord 3)Bear each other when face the challenge of life and dead 4) Serve the Lord and serve the people, the key point is God is love
God takes account of human response, not so much 'changing his mind' as acting in a different way.
Who is for God? Moses' own tribe the Levites, rally to him. What follows is 'holy war': an example is made of a few - maybe ringleaders(頭目), more likely worshippers caught by chance. "Brother' means follow-Israelite. But even family ties are less important then loyalty to God.
Moses not only prayed to the Lord sought for mercy from the Lord and he asked Levites kill his brothers who worships the bull-calf.
How?
God is more important then family-tie when fellow family are turn away from the Lord.

The Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge

Exodus 31:1-18
God's servant filled with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts.
Obey my Sabbath, this will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the Lord, who makes you holy.
When God chooses people for a particular work he also equips them to do it.
Spirit of God on verse 3 is one of the earliest references.
These craftsmen's skills are spiritual gifts for the service of God, and the names of the two go down in history.
Why?
God equips his chosen men for a particular work. First is the Holy Spirit, them the skill, ability and knowledge.
The way of Sabbath day of rest is kept is an index of the nation's spiritual health. Obedience in this is a test of their obedience to God in other ways too.
God gives everyone who follow him a sign between God and us. One is the tithe, and special miracle in our life.
How?
Thanks God give me sign and let me know God makes me holy, and God is my Lord for ever.

Sacred anointing oil

Exodus 30:17-38
Incense: Take fragrant spices—gum resin, onycha and galbanum—and pure frankincense, all in equal amounts, and make a fragrant blend of incense, the work of a perfumer. It is to be salted and pure and sacred.
Anointing Oil: Make these into a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer. It will be the sacred anointing oilYou shall consecrate them so they will be most holy, and whatever touches them will be holy.
Why?
Incense includes salt to prevent spoiling or corruption.
Anointing Oil used to consecrate all the vessel in the Tent of  Meeting. For those are Holy before the Lord.
All the instruction of Anointing Oil and Incense could not be made for others, it is limited used for the God's work.

God cares everything detail

Exodus 30:1-38
The altar of incense, Atonement money, basin for washing, anointing oil and incense.
Each one who crosses over to those already counted is to give a half shekel, according to the sanctuary shekel. This half shekel is an offering to the Lord.
Receive the atonement money from the Israelites and use it for the service of the Tent of Meeting.
Do not pour anointing oil on men's body and do not make any oil with the same formulas. Do not make any incense with this formula for yourself.
Why?
God is holy so all the things are to be made for God's only in Holy Place.
Everyone should pay his duty to the Lord, so it may used for the service of the Tent of Meeting, so as the tithe to the Church today.
God cares everything very detail so we have to do everything very detail.
How?
Pay to the Lord belong to the Lord.

God is my Lord

Exodus 29:35-46
Taken seven days to ordain Aaron and his sons.
For seven days make atonement for the altar and consecrate it.
Offer on the altar regularly each day: two lambs a year old. Offer one in the morning and the other at twilight. With the lamb offer a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with a quarter of hin of oil from pressed olives, and a quarter of a hin of win as a drink offering.
They will know that I am the Lord their God.
Hin : about 1 quart (about 1 liter)
Why?
Seven days is the number of the Lord, like 40 days. To ordain and consecrate priest and altar.
God consecrates the Tent of Meeting and the altar, let Israelites know that He is their God.
God sent Holy Spirit enter our heart, let us know that God is my Lord.
How?
Set apart from the world for I am belong to the eternal instead of this world.

God is to be approached only in the ways he lays down

Exodus 29:1-34
A bull for sin offering, a ram for burnt offering to the Lord, another ram for ordination.
Consecrate those parts of  the ordination ram that belong to Aaron and his sons. This is always to be the regulation from the Israelites fro Aaron and his sons. It is the contribution the Israelites are to make to the Lord from their fellowship offerings.
Everything about this elaborate ceremonial points to the 'otherness' of God. He will be with his people, but there can be no familiarity. God is to be approached only in the ways he lays down. Sin disqualifies everyone from entering God's presence. The priests and every item of equipment must be specially set apart for God's service. So Aaron and his sons must be cleansed, robed and their sins expiated by sacrifice before they may take office. The living God is no impotent image to be worshiped as human beings think fit. God lays down the only terms on which it is possible for him to take up residence with his people
Why?
The ear for hearing and obeying God; the hand and foot to work for him.
How?
Worship the Lord his way he lays down, but not our imagination.

HOLY TO THE LORD

Exodus 28:15-43
The Breastpiece

The breastpiece will not swing out from the Ephod.
Make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it as on a seal: HOLY TO THE LORD. Fasten a blue cord to it to attach it to the turban; it is to be on the front of the turban. It will be on Aaron's forehead, and he will bear the gilt involved in the sacred gifts the Israelites consecrate, whatever their gifts may be.
Weave the tunic of fine linen and make the turban of fine linen. The sash is to be the work of an embroiderer. Make tunics, sashes and caps for Aaron’s sons to give them dignity and honorMake linen undergarments as a covering for the body, reaching from the waist to the thigh.
Why?
All of the garments and building and equipments in the Tabernacle are let the Holy to the Lord!
How?
Holy to the Lord and give God's servants dignity and honor.

Represent dignity and honor to be a servant of the Lord

Exodus 28:1-14
Aaron and his four sons will be Priests, serve the Lord. Make sacred garments for Aaron to give him dignity and honor.
The Ephod:
If God's Tent is to be a place of beauty and splendor, his priest must also be fittingly robed. His garments are intended 'to give him dignity and honor' - not on his own account, but as befits(造福) the One he serves and represents.
Why?
The precious stones engraved with the names of the twelve tribes point to his other function, as representative of his people, making atonement for their sin.
How?
To be a priest, a minister of the Lord, represent dignity and honor.

Keep the lamps burning before the Lord from evening till morning.

Exodus 27:1-21
The Altar of burnt offering. 5 x 5 x 3 cubits long, wide and high.
The courtyard of the tabernacle. 100(S)x 50(E) x 100(N) x 50(W) cubits. The entrance of the courtyard, provide a curtain 20 cubits long of blue, purple ad scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen with four posts and four bases.  All the posts around the courtyard are to have silver bands and hooks and bronze bases.
Oil of the Lampstand. Israelites to provide clear oil of pressed olives. Aaron and his sons are to keep the lamps burning before the Lord from evening till morning.
Why?
Keep the laps burning before the Lord from evening rill morning. Keep prayer before the Lord and worship his holy name around the world.
In Tabernacle where each one is made by Gold and acacia wood because there is Holy Place.
The people of the ancient Near East were skilled in spinning, weaving and using natural dyes(染料) (scarlet from the cochineal(胭脂蟲) insect; purple, for the wealthy from the murex(骨螺) shellfish). Fine embroidery(刺繡) was also produced. Precious and semi-precious stones were rounded, polished and engraved. Gold and silver were beaten and worked into elaborate(縝密) designs. All these skills God called into play form the construction of his Tent.
How?
Keep prayer everyday is to honor God's holy name and keep the close relationship with God.

The tabernacle

Exodus 26:7-37
Set up the tabernacle according to the plan shown you on the mountain.
Hang the curtain from the clasps and place the ark of the Testimony behind the curtain. The curtain will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place. Put the atonement cover on the ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy Place. Place the Table outside the curtain on the north side of the tabernacle and put the lampstand opposite it on the south side.
Ark of the Covenant(Testimony)/Covenant Box: This is a wooden chest with carrying poles, covered with gold and measuring about 1.22m x 76cm x 76cm. 'Testimony conveys the underling idea of witness, and the Ark contained the two small stone writing-table on which the 'ten words' were recorded; also a pot of manna, and later Aaron's staff. The 'cherubim' were most likely human-faced winged sphinxes representing God's messenger-spirits. The Ark was the visible symbol of God's presence.

How?
Today the Tabernacle is in our heart, worship the Lord with heart and spirit.

The framework of The Ark, Table and Lampstand

Exodus 25:23~26:6

The framework of the actual tent was hung with linked curtains of linen, over which was a cover of cloth made from goat-hair, topped by two weatherproof coverings.
Many of the materials used were brought by the Israelites from Egypt and willingly given, so that God's Tent might be as worthy of him as they could make it. Where there are no banks it is practical to covert wealth into jewellery, which can be worn and carried round easily. Wood is scarce in the Sinai desert: the acacia is one of the few trees which grow there. Their own herds provided skins.

Everyone whose heart prompts them to give offerings

Exodus 25:1-22
Offerings to Tabernacle: from everyone whose heart prompts them to give.
Instruction of the Ark. There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the covenant law, I will meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites.
God has brought the nation out of Egypt. He has set out the terms of his covenant and they have been agreed. Now, as a visible sign that these are his people. He give Moses instructions to make him a special tent: God is to have a home like theirs and live among them.
God will guide and be with then wherever they go -and they will know God is no local deity(神) whose power is limited to Sinai.
Portable, prefabricated tent-shrines similar to God's Tent were constructed in Egypt even earlier than this. Here, although the description is detailed, some practical points are missing- it is not a complete blueprint. The roof of the tent, for example, may have been flat or raised with a ridge-pole.
How?
Offering to the Lord are one whose heart prompts to give, not the law or rule but for duty and thanksgiving.

Make covenant with the Lord

Exodus 24:1-18
The 70 elders and Moses, Aaron, Nadab and Abihu made covenant with the Lord, they said "We will do everything the Lord has said; we will obey."
They saw  the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like a pavement made of sapphire, clear as the sky itself.
The people's assent to the covenant is formally sealed by a special sacrifice, and by the covenant meal eaten by their representatives in the presence of God.
The blood sprinkled on the people and on the altar unites the two parties to the agreement. In effect, each is swearing to keep it on pain of death.
Nadab and Abihu: Two of Aaron's sons who later died, disgraced.
They saw the God of Israel: Having a meal with someone is the essence of fellowship in the Near East. The writer is almost lost for words to describe the indescribable communion which followed the sacrifice and fulfilled the covenant.
Hur: Obvious a man of standing in Israel. He and Aaron help up Moses' hands in prayer during the battle with the Amalekites.
Forty days and nights: Certain numbers have special significance in the Bible. The round number 40 occurs at almost every new stage in Israel's history: e.f. at the flood, the time of the spies in Canaan, Elijah's journey to Horeb, Jesus' time in the wilderness, and the time between his resurrection and ascension.
How?
God is Holy and fulfill with glory and honor above all!

Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water

Exodus 23:20-33
God sent angel with Israeltes. God's name is with him.
Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, and none will miscarry or be barren in your land, I will give you a full life span.
I will hand over to you the people who live in the land and you will drive them out before you. Do not make covenant with them or with their gods.
God's undertakings for his obedient people.
The Red Sea here is clearly the Gulf of Aqaba. These 'ideal' boundaries - the Gulf of Aqaba to the Mediterranean; Sinai to the Euphrates - were briefly realized under David and Solomon.
Why?
God had told them do not make covenant with them, but Israel forgot and made covenant with Gibeonite(Joshua 9)
Worship the Lord our God, no any good thing lack in our life.
God's blessing will be on my food and water, it is on my daily life.
How?
Worship the Lord my God, his blessing will be with me.

Six days do your work, but on the seventh day do not work

Exodus 23:1-19
Laws of Justice and mercy. Justice and human rights.
Do not deny justice to your poor people in their lawsuits.
Have nothing to do with a false charge and do not put an innocent or honest person to death.
Six days do your work, but on the seventh day do not work, so that your ox and your donkey ma rest and the slave born in your household, and the alien as well, may be refreshed.
Law of three main feasts - Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits and Harvest.
Three times a year you are to celebrate a festival to me.
1)The Feast of Unleavened Bread.
2)The Feast of Harvest with the firstfruits of the crops you sow in your field.
3)The Fest of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather in your crops from the field.
Three times a year all the men are to appear before the Sovereign Lord.
Why?
The land is entitled to a rest of its own: God preserves and provides for the creatures of the wild as well as humankind.
Christians have to appear before the Lord every morning.  Make more close relationship with the Lord.
Do not deny justice or do nothing to the false charge, for we are the servant of the Lord, God care the poor and needed people. Have mercy on those men.
We need rest so as the slave and field and ox etc.
How?
Obey the law and do the right thing we should do.

God is compassionate

Exodus 22:18-31
God is compassionate. You are to be my holy people. So you have the holy behaviors.
You must give me the firstborn of your sons. Do the same with your cattle and your sheep.
Social and religious obligations.
Witchcraft is condemned in the New testament too but the death penalty was a ruling for these early times.
Bestiality(人獸交) and homosexual acts were both capital crimes in early Israel.
Why?
God is compassionate so do to others with love and compassion, especially to the widow and fatherless children. Do not like moneylender.
God is holy so we have to do the right things and let God's name be honored.
How?
We are God's people so do the matter like Jesus, fear the Lord and obey his commandments.
