1 Kings 18:25-29
Elijah let the prophets of Baal do first for they are many.
Elijah encouraged them "Shout louder!" he said, "Surely he is a god Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened."
So they shouted louder ad slashed themselves with swords and spears, as was their custom, until their blood flowed.
But there was not response, no one answered, no one paid attention, till time for the evening sacrifice.
Baal is important - no more able to produce fire than to sen the needed rain.
Why?
There was their custom to slashed themselves with swords and spears, means their earnest heart.
Those behavior like many cultures in my country, they are doing the same thing as to Baal. People thought their god as man, using man's way to assimilate their gods.
Those gods can not listen, can not see, can not speak!
How?
All of these are the false gods, only the Lord is the true God!

Do not waver between two opinions
1 Kings 18:16-24
Elijah in Mount Carmel.
Elijah said to the people of Israel, "How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him."
Get two bulls for us. Let them choose one for themselves, and let them cut it not pieces and put it on the wood but not set fire to it. I will prepare the other bull and put it on the wood but not set fire to it. Then you call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the Lord. The god who answers will by fire - he is God.
Now Elijah returns - one against 450 -with a challenge. Let's put this the test and see who is the real God.
Why?
Elijah could said the word against the king and made this comparison between Baal and the Lord for he knew that the Lord is the real God. To prove that who is the real God, let Israel and the king make decision. Do not wave between two opinions.
Elijah has faith and strong confidence to claim these before so many Baal's prophet and people.
How?
During the spiritual war let be strong and follow the Lord, keeping the way of the Lord, obey his commandment. There is not God except the Lord!
God doesn't like his people waver between the Lord and others.Only the Lord is the real God!

As the Lord Almighty lives whom I serve
1 Kings 18:7-15
Obediah has worshiped the Lord since his youth. He afraid when he said to the King Elijah is here but the Lord takes Elijah to somewhere could be found, king will kill Obediah.
As surely as the Lord your God lives. Obediah said.
As the Lord Almighty lives whom I serve, Elijah said.
He will kill me for sure Obediah said to Elijah three times.
Why?
Because Obediah could not know where Elijah will be for the Lord's spirit may let Elijah to somewhere and hide him. Then Obediah may lie to the king.
Obediah worshiped the Lord since his youth, but he had not enough faith in the Lord. He said the Lord your God, why not my God?
What are we afraid? we should afraid the Lord instead the kings in the world.
How?

A devout believer in the Lord
1 Kings 18:1-6
In the third year, the word of the Lord came to Elijah:"Go and present yourself to Ahan, and I will sent rain on the land." So Elijah went to preset himself to Ahab.
Obadiah was in charged of Ahab palace, who was a devout believer in the Lord. While Jezebel was killing believer in the the Lord's prophets, Obadiah had taken a hundred prophets and hidden them in two caves, and had supplied the with food and water.
Jezebel is fanatical for her religion. For three years she has done all in her power to eliminate the worship of God in Israel.
Why?
The Lord let Israel third years had not rain, made shame to Baal Israelite were worshiping. These gods could not bless them. There were under political and economic crisis.
Elijah will face against Ahab, it is a hard war. There was another company Obadiah God had chosen even he was in charged of Ahab palace.
Obadiah was using his own way to save God's prophets.
Homosexuals marriage became legal in Taiwan now, it is an evil law before the Lord. To be a God's servant we can do something different to witness the honor of the Lord.
How?
Under any situation, even evil environment God's servant can serve the Lord in different way.

Changing of knowledge to the Lord
1 Kings 17:17-24
Some time later the son of the woman who owned the house becae ill and finally stopped breathing. She said to Elijah, "What do you have against me, man of God
Do you come to remind me of my sin and kill my son?
Elijah stretched himself out on the boy three ties and cried to the Lord,"O Lord my God, let this boy's lie return to him!" The Lord heard Elijah's cry, and the boy's life returned to him, and he lived.
The woman said to Elijah, "Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the Lord from your mouth is the truth."
This is the first account in the Bible of a revival from death. It is a heart-stopping story for the reader, too happily closing with a remarkable expression of faith from one who knew nothing of God before Elijah came to her door.
Elijah may have used the 'kiss of life'; but the revival came in answer to his prayer, not just through a particular method of resuscitation.(復甦)
Why?
This woman did not know the Lord before Elijah came to her house. After this event she knew the Lord and Elijah is man of God, the Lord from his mouth is the truth.
Can I make witness to people and let people know that the word of Lord from my mouth is truth.
The woman confess her sins after this event. It is good to revival life for her and her son.
First, the faith of the woman built on the food , now her faith build on the Lord. It is the changing of knowledge to the Lord.
How?
Faith not only build on the food but on the Lord! God is the master of life and all.

The Lord is my supporter and my savior
1 Kings 17: 8-16
The widow at Zarephath listened to the word of Elijah and did as Elijah had told her. Even she don't have any bread - only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug.
Don't be afraid. Go home and do what you have said. But first make a small cake of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son. For this is what the Lord said: The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord gives rain on the land.
God provides for Elijah's needs first from nature and then through a most unlikely person in the unlikeliest of places. The widow is a foreigner with no one to support her, and Zarephath is in the heart of Baal's own county! By providing for Elijah this way, God also shows his care for the poorest of the poor.
Why?
God let Elijah knew that God provides him his needs and care the needs of the poor widow and her son. Even they had not any support, God is their way and support.
Obey and follow the word of God is the way of blessing under unlikeliest situation.
Who is the real God - He is the Lord in the past, now and the future.
How?

Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab,"As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, there will be neither dew or rain in the next few years except at my word."
Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah: "Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. You will drink fro the brook, and I have ordered the ravens to feed you there."
Why?
Even Ahab forgot the name of the Lord, the Lord let Elijah showed up, let the Israelite knew that the Lord is the God of Israel. God will have drought over Israel for three years. Warning them turn to the Lord.
God let raven to feed Elijah means God will afford the living of Elijah, God's servant. So to be a servant of the Lord don't worry about the living, God can do it.
Get rid of some Baals in the world, serve the Lord wholly, God can recover all problems.
How?

The Lord is reign in heaven over world forever
1 Kings 16:29-34
Ahab son of Omri became king of Israel, and he reigned in Samaria over Israel 22 years.
Ahab did ore evil in the eyes of the Lord than any of those before him.
In Ahab's time, Hiel of Nethel rebuilt Jericho. He laid its foundations at the cost of his firstborn son Abira, and he set up its gates at the cost of his youngest son Segub, in accordance with the word of the Lord spoken by Joshua son of Nun.
In the writer's view, religious life in Israel reaches an all-tie low in Ahab's 22-year reign. The king's marriage to Jerebel of Tyre, effecting an alliance between Israel and its northern neighbor Phoenicia, brings political strength and trade benefits. But Jezebel is strongly attached to her own religion, and she persuades Ahab to 'sin against the Lord' by imposing the worship of the Phoenician god Melqart on his people. The scene is set for the appearance of Elijah, and a classic conflict of 'church versus state'.
Why?
During Ahab' time, the spiritual environment worst time, there was an event happened - rebuilt Jericho, and the word of God said by Joshua had come truth. It reminds people that God's word will be done as what he said.
This event reflected that people in Israel did not care about the word of God at all.
God's word is existing forever.
How?
This is the conflict of 'church and state'. The history told us that the Lord is an authorize God, and Jesus is the way, the truth and the life to all of us. The Lord is reign in heaven over world forever!

Good or evil judged on the eyes of the Lord
1 Kings 16:21-28
Omri became king of Israel, and reigned twelve years. He bought the hill of Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver and built a city on the hill, calling it Samaria.
Omri did evil in the eyes of the Lord and sinned more than all those before him. They provoked the Lord, the God of Israel, to anger by their worthless idols.
Although only briefly mentioned here, Omri was one of Israel's most powerful king politically. He introduces a new dynasty and rules for 12 years, fortifying Samaria as his new capital. For 150 years from this time, Assyria refers to Israel as ' the land of Omri'.
Why?
For Omri did evil in the eyes of the Lord so even he was one of most powerful king in Israel, but the writer said he was bad king and provoked the Lord to anger by their worthless idols.
To man Omri is successful in his reign but he was bad king in God's eyes. All men in the world is temporary, only doing right thing in God's eyes may have eternal life as we passed away.
How?

太11：16-19

我可用什麼比喻這世代呢?...硬著頸項的百姓
千年種子教會？ 約12:24 一粒麥子不落在地裡死了，仍舊是一粒，若是死了，就結出許多子粒來。
林前15:37 你所種的不是那將來的形體，不過是子粒，即如麥子，或是別樣的穀。
永遠是種子，卻不能成長結果。
體制化了,一切服事都在進行，卻不快樂
這是耶穌的世代
快樂衣，喜樂油，公義
當領袖的人若是一直順服，怎能成為大器，領導人呢?這是一般人的想法。
其實成為領袖的條件是會順服
跟隨有三種情況：1.緊緊的跟。 2.想跟但是步子跟不上。 3.不想跟而走自己的路
跟的時候可以看到前面的人的錯誤，馬上學會。前者花一生學的，跟的人一下子就學到經驗，得到知識見解
我們要破碎自己，由種子改變發芽長大
大綱：
1.神熱情邀約請，人卻故意藐視
我吹笛你們不跳舞。 我舉哀你們不捶胸
以法蓮是馬後砲，質疑打仗為什麼沒有叫我們？基甸說我叫你們，你們不願意。現在的世代也是如此。以法蓮人對基甸說：你去與米甸人爭戰，沒有招我們同去，為什麼這樣待我們呢？他們就與基甸大大地爭吵。
士8:2 基甸對他們說：我所行的豈能比你們所行的呢？以法蓮拾取剩下的葡萄不強過亞比以謝所摘的葡萄嗎？
二，神行了許多異能，人卻始終不悔改
推羅，西頓早已披麻蒙灰了。
人把恩典當作自然的事。故事：一位老先生自費提供免費飯給乞丐們吃，並且還有肉，提供的老先生已經沒經費了，於是將肉減少，乞丐發現每天提供的飯中肉少了，開始發怨言，為什麼瞧不起我們？
要珍惜每週，每天，包括來教會。
三，神所認識，並願意指示的人
詩篇25 耶和華與敬畏祂的人親密，他必將自己的約指示他們
挑戰
1.凡勞苦擔重擔的人可以到我這裡來，我就使你們得安息。
2.我心裡柔和謙卑，你們當負我的軛，學我的樣式：這樣，你們心裡就必得安息。
3.因為我的軛是容易的，我的擔子是輕省的。
被驗中的故事
神既然驗中了我們，把福音托付我們
帖前2：4 但神既然驗中了我們，把福音託付我們，我們就照樣講，不是要討人喜歡，乃是要討那察驗我們心的神喜歡。
無法了解的未來？… 疑問膽怯

Let me walking on God's way
1 Kings 16:15-20
In the seven day after Zimri reigned in Tirzah. The army was encamped near Gibbethon, a Philistine town. When the Israelites in the camp heard that Zimri had plotted against the king and murdered him, they proclaimed Omri, king over Israel that very day there in the camp.
When Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into the citadel of the royal palace and set the palace on fire around him. So he died.
Zimri introduces a short lived new dynasty and commits suicide when under siege by Omri.
Why?
Zimri has not right to be a king when Israelite heard he had plotted against the king, they proclaimed Omri as their king.
Evil man did evil matter, finally betrayed by his evil way.
Be aware when we criticize others, others may criticize me either.
How?
Pray to the Lord don't let me walk on the evil way like others, made the same mistakes. Let me walking on the way of the Lord.

Using the word of the Lord to manage this world
1 Kings 16:8-14
Zimri, one of his officials, who had command of half his chariots, plotted against him. Elah was in Tirzah at the tie, getting drunk in the home of Arza. Zimri came in, struck him down and killed him. Then he succeeded him as king.
As soon as he began to reign and was seated on the throne, he killed off Baashs'a whole family. He did not spare a single male, whether relative or friend. So Zimri destroyed the whole family of Baasha, in accordance with the word of the Lord spoken against Baasha through the prophet Jehu.
His successor, Elah, rules for two years before his assassination by Zimri.
Why?
For those kings are against the way of the Lord, so they plotted the position and got it by violent, so they were be killed and token by violent either. There were not peace and safety in the county without blessing of the Lord.
Kings of Israel who did anything by their desires and making the God of Isreal angry with their stupid idols.
How?
God choose the one who fear the Lord to be authorized in higher position. Using the word of the Lord to manage this world.

Remember the grace and mery of the Lord
1 Kings 15:33-16:7
Baasha became king of all Israel in Tirzah and he reigned 24 years. He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, walking in the ways of Jeroboam and in his sin, which he had cause Israel to commit.
The word of the Lord came to Jehu son of Hanani against Baasha: "I lifted you up from the dust and made you leader of my people Israel, but you walked in the ways of Jerobaom and caused my people Israel to sin and to provoke me to anger by their sins. So I am about to consume Baasha and his house, and I will make your house like that of Jeroboam son of Nebat..."
Baasha introduces a new dynasty and rules Israel for 24 years.
Why?

God's way beyond my way
1 Kings 15:25-32
Nadab son of jeroboam became king of Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah and he reigned over Isreal two years. He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, waling in the ways of his father and in his sin, which he had caused Israel to commit.
Baasha son of Ahijah of the house of Issachar plotted against him, and he struck him down at Gibbethon, a Philisting town, while Nadab and all Israel were besieging it.
As soon as he began to reign, he killed Jeroboam's whole family. He did not leave Jeroboam anyone that breathed, but destroyed them all, according to the word of the Lord given through his servant Ahijah the Shilonite.
All Israel's kings were automatically bad by the writer's definition, though some were worse than others. After ruling for two years, Nadab is murdered by Baasha.
Why?
God did something through evil men to implement his mission, such as killed Jeroboam's whole family. For God is righteous.
The Lord works out everything for his own ends - even the wicked for a day of disaster.(Proverbs 16:4)
God let righteous men and evil men in the world, both could be vessels of the Lord to make God's way be done!
How?
Right now I have not much project this year, God's way is let my heart calm down and prepare myself to serve Him and strength my faith to the Lord!

Rely on the Lord forever!
1 Kings 15:16-24
There was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel throughout their reigns.
Asa took all the silver and gold that was left in the treasuries of the Lord's temple and of his own palace. He entrusted it to his officials and sent the to Ben-Hadadsone of Hezion, the king of Aram, who was ruling in Damascus. "Let there be a treaty between me and you," he said, "See, I am sending you a gift of silver and gold. Now break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel so he will withdraw from me"
In his old age, however, his feet became diseased.
The war with Israel continues until he succeeds in persuading Syria to change sides. It costs him all the silver and gold from his palace and the Temple, but diverts Baasha's attention and buys Asa time to improve his own defence.
Why?
A king trusted to the Lord, why when he is getting old he forgot the Lord and rely on the king of Aram? When everything is good and smoothly, people may forget the mercy of the Lord, and proud it was my effort.
How?
Pray to the Lord, let my heart trust in the Lord forever no matter what age I will be. God always is my Lord!

Fully committed my heart to the Lord
1 Kings 15:9-15
Asa became king of Judah, and he reigned in Jerusalem forty-one years.
He even deposed his grandmother Maacah from her position as queen mother, because she had made a repulsive Asherah pole. Asa cut the pole down and burned it in the Kidron Valley.
Asa's heart was fully committed to the Lord all his life. He brought into the temple of the Lord the silver and gold and the articles that he and his father had dedicated.
Why?
Fully committed to the Lord is on his position and do what he can do to the right things of the Lord. Even Asa could deposed his grandmother Maacah who had higher social reputation, for she did the wrong things.
Keep doing the right thing even there are family against us.
How?
Let my heart fully committed to the Lord for God is my God, God is my Shepherd, my hope and my strength.

God's promise and inheritance
1 Kings 15:1-8
Jeroboam son of Nebat, Abijah became king of Judah, and he reigned in Jerusalem three years.
He committed all the sins his father had done before him; his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God. Nevertheless, for David's sake the Lord his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem by raising up a son to succeed him and by making Jerusalem strong.
The writer of Kings defines a good king as one who promotes the worship of God; a bad king as one who strays(流浪) into idolatrous practices. One this definition, Abijam's three-year reign is a bad one.
Why?
Abijah reigned in Jerusalem only three years for he committed all the sins, but God raising up a good son to succeed him and making Jerusalem strong. Because God remember David had done for the Lord, so God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem.
Can I have a good son or daughter to succeed me and devote my life to the Lord?
What can I do to devote more the Lord? Preparing myself and focusing to the Lord and follow God's word.
How?
Let me be a good witness before my family!

Live out the Holy life in the world
1 Kings 14:21-31
Rehoboam son of Solomon was king in Judah. He was forty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem. Judah did evil in the eyes of the Lord. By the sins they committed they stirred up his jealous anger more than their fathers had done. They also set up for themselves high places, sacred stones and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every spreading tree.
In the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt attacked Jerusalem. He carried off the treasures of the temple of the Lord and the treasures of the royal palace. He took everything, including all the gold shields Solomon had made.
Jeroboam's rule in Israel, over the reigns of three kings - Rehoboam, Abijah and Asa - in the southern kingdom of Judah. Here too pagan religion flourishes under Rehoboam. The weakened state loses the Temple treasures to the invading Egyptian pharaoh, and north and south are constantly at war.
Why?
Judah should obey the Lord and they are living in Jerusalem where is the Temple of God. But because the king did not follow the command of the Lord and Israel has sins against, so Judah turn away from the Lord as Israel did. Turn to the world and trace the treasure of the world is easy, but follow the command of the Lord need effort and put trust on the Lord.
All of us should keep away from the sins of this world and obey the command of the Lord as we can. Do the best with all my strength, all my mind and all my heart to obey the word of God.
How?

1 Kings 14:11-20
As for you, go back home. When you set foot in your city, the boy will die. All Israel will mourn for him and bury him. He is the only one belonging to Jeroboam who will be buried, because he is the only in the house of Jeroboam in whom the Lord, the God of Israel, has found anything good.
The Lord will raise up for himself a king over Israel who will cut off the family of Jeroboam.
Because they provoke the Lord to anger by making Asherah poles. And he will give Israel up because of the sins Jeroboam has committed and has caused Israel to commit.
It is meaning that all the rest of house of Jeroboam will die violently.
Scatter them beyond the Euphrates: Israel was taken into exile by Assyria after the fall of Samaria.
Why?
Jerobaom solved his son's ill he thought the prophet Ahijah, but he keep gripping the control power to Israel. So he won't turn back to the Lord. His heart has been obscured by his greed.
How?
Don't be a christian worship the Lord and the world, when there is emergence event happened then come the Lord. The Lord knows our heart. So let show the royalty to the Lord.

What is my really following
1 Kings 14:1-10
Abijah son of Jeroboam became ill, and Jeroboam said to his wife, "Go disguise yourself, so you won't be recognized as the wife of Jerobaom. Then go to Shiloh. Ahijah the prophet is there - the one who told me I would be king over this people."
But God has told Ahijah who will come and told her the message of Jeroboam had done.
Jeroboam knew is the Lord let him be king of Isreal. But he done ore evil than all who lived before him. He have provoked God to anger and thrust God behind his back.
So his son will die and God will bring disaster on the house of Jeroboam, and God will cut off fro Jeroboa every last make in Israel, until it is all gone.
Even a blind prophet, if he is true, can see through pretense. Jeroboa's wife gets no chance to ask her question, Ahijah predicted Jeroboam's rise. Now, because he has not been loyal to God, as David was, Jeroboam's whole dynasty 'will be swept away like dung'.
Abijah: means Jehovah is my father.
Why?
Jeroboam looks worship God bur he had changed the way and changed the kernel of worship to other gods. Even he remembered his kingdom was assigned by the Lord, but he did not obey the Lord and follow God's command. Once again God told him through prophet Abijah the warning message about his house.
Anyone who forgot God will lost everything he has, only the Lord is the fountain of blessing.
There is some men who knew the Lord but do not acknowledge Him and do not turn to the Lord, so their destination is dead forever.
How?
Follow the Lord, obey his command, Jehovah is my Lord forever!

The word of the Lord will certainly come true
1 Kings 13:29-34
For the message he declared by the word of the Lord against the altar in Bethel and against all the shrines on the high places in the towns of Samaria will certainly come true.
Even after this, Jeroboam did not change his evil ways, but once more appointed priests for the high places from all sorts of people.
But there are none so blind as those who will not see. So Jeroboam brings ruin and destruction on his dynasty.
Why?
Jeroboam were blind and insisted his way to protect his kingdom. He built and set up more priest by his way on high places. Kept away from the Lord even Jeroboam knew the truth from God.
How?
Keep my heart and my behavior to the Lord Almighty. When God reminded me, be aware it and confess my sin and turn to the Lord.

Obey the word of the Lord an keep the command the Lord gave me
1 King 13:20-28
While they were sitting at the table, the word of the Lord came to the old prophet who had brought him back. He cried out the the man of Go who had come from Judah, "This is what the Lord says: You have defied the word of the Lord and have not kept the command the Lord your God gave you. How?
Discern the word of God is an important thing. It is the way we have to keep God's in my life.
While they were sitting at the table, the word of the Lord came to the old prophet who had brought him back. He cried out the the man of Go who had come from Judah, "This is what the Lord says: You have defied the word of the Lord and have not kept the command the Lord your God gave you. 經文：他們來到伯賽大，有人帶一個瞎子來，求耶穌摸他。耶穌拉著瞎子的手，領他到村外，就吐唾沫在他眼睛上，按手在他身上，問他說：你看見什麼了？他就擡頭一看，說：我看見人了；他們好像樹木，並且行走。隨後又按手在他眼睛上，他定睛一看，就復了原，樣樣都看得清楚了。耶穌打發他回家，說：連這村子你也不要進去。
1.引言
耶穌有時行為讓人覺得很奇怪，疑問很多？
口水經過考證，在古時的確有醫療效果，如小時候手流血了放在口中吸，血比較不會流了。
2.耶穌醫治瞎子，為什麼要兩次，而且第一次用口水，第一次是一般民間療法，民間療法有用，但是功效不完全。傳統療法不完全能醫治人。
生病要去看醫生，感冒要吃藥，精神問題要諮商，心中煩惱找牧師，苦悶找朋友聊，但是這些只能治一部分，只有耶穌可以醫治心靈、肉體。
情感上的傷痛，婚姻的苦，靈性的瞎眼及聾，只有耶穌可以醫治。如可8:17-21

耶穌再次觸摸醫治的結果
A.完全的視力
在順境我們的視力是清楚的，但是在苦難時，有重擔時往往影響我們的視力，以致用不義的方法來處理。我們能清楚看到耶穌嗎？當人們稱讚我們時，我們可以因此高傲，輕看別人，小看耶穌。
B.清楚的視力
「一例一休」目前吵的勞資均不滿意，我們深入思考，什麼是勞動，什麼是休息的含義?其中有多少貪婪?多少利益?
有人認為耶穌是行神蹟的神，我們要認識耶穌的全面性，如新約與舊約的神一樣有慈愛與公義。
應用：
1.耶穌的觸摸： 禱告
2. 上帝的話： 聖經
3. 基督的身體： 教會的小組。讓我們每次參加在靈裏有成長

Discern what is true from what is false
1 Kings 13:11-19
The old prophet answered," I too am a prophet, as you are. And an angel said to me by the word of the Lord: Bring him back with you to your house so that he may eat bread and drink water."(But he was ling to him) So the man of god returned with him and ate and drank in his house.
In this critical time for Israel and Judah, the role of the prophets in vital. The need to discern what is true from what is false is most acute in the case of those who claim to speak for God. But even a lying prophets may sometimes speak and recognize the truth. The prophet from Judah is wrong to accept the old prophet's word when it contradicts God's own word to him.
Why?
May be the prophet from Judah were tied, or he believed that the word of the Lord is changed so the new one is better than the old one that he heard from the Lord by his own.
God's word never changed, his decree and his command are endure forever. There are true and false prophets speaking. All of us should discern what is true from what is false is most acute in the case of those who claim to speak for God.
Knowing the truth then we can discern the false words.
How?
Do my best to read and understand the world of God with Holy Spirit. Someone said it is the word of God said to him, be aware of it.

Do not compromise with the world
1 Kings 13:1-10
The man of God from Judah to Bethel. He cried out against the altar by the word of the Lord: "O altar! This is what the Lord says:'A son named Josiah will be born to the house of David. On you he will sacrifice the offerings here, and human bones will be burned on you." The same day the man of God gave a sign: "This is the sign the Lord has declared: The altar will be split apart and the ashes on it will be poured out."
When King Jeroboam heard what the man of God cried out against the altar at Bethel, he stretched out his hand from the altar and said,"Seize him!" But the hand he stretched out toward the man shrived up, so that he could not pull it back. Also the altar was split apart and its ashes poured out according to the sign given by the man of God by the word of the Lord.
Why?
The man of God who obeyed the word of God so he would not accept any reward from man or king. If desire any profit or benefit and disobey the word of the Lord may induce trouble and dead.
It is the sign from the Lord to tell Jeroboam that God hate what he did in Bethel. But he did not listen. And Jeroboam wanted to use force and money or benefit to earn the man of God. But it was failed.
Do not compromise with the world or bribe anything on the world. For Christian should be the light and salt in the world.
How?
To be an honest Christian to the Lord, trust in the Lord and obey his command.

The downward path of sin against God
1 Kings 12:25-33
Jeroboam thought to himself, "The kingdom will now likely revert to the house of David. If these people go up to offer sacrifices at the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem."
The king made two golden calves. He said to the people, "It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Here are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt." One he set up in Bethel and the other in Dan. He instituted a festival on the fifteenth day of the eighth month, like the festival held in Judah, and offered sacrifices on the altar.
Jerusalem had been the religious center of the united kingdom. Jeroboam, fearful that visiting Jerusalem for the pilgrim-feasts will lead his people to defect, creates two new sanctuaries for the northern kingdom. He also creates an unlawful priesthood. And he makes bull-calves, the symbols of fertility, for the people to worship. His actions encouraged idolatry and, as time went by, Israelite worship became more and more degenerate. The writers of Kings see him always as 'bad king Jeroboam', the one who set Israel on the downward path of sin against God.
Why?
Jeroboam heard the adviser from prophet, but he afraid his kingdom will revert to the house of David, so he built tow golden calves and instituted festival and offer sacrifices. All of these are against the word of the Lord told him. But he insisted to confirm his kingdom, he used his own way and encouraged idolatry. He set Israel on the downward path of sin against God.
What I am worshiping to the Lord in church. It is a religious action or worship the Lord in Spirit and like to come closer to the Lord?
How?
Do not meet the desire of the people but the desire of the Lord!

The best way to solve problems
1 Kings 12:18-24
Only the tribe of Judah remained loyal to the house of David. Rehoboam mustered the whole house of Judah - a hundred and eighty thousand fighting men - to make war against the house of Israel and to regain the kingdom for Rehoboam.
But this word of God came to Shemaiah the man of God: "Say to Rehoboam king of Judah, and to the whole house of Judah and Benjamin, and to the rest of the people. Do not go up to fight against your brothers, the Israelites. Go home, everyone of you, for this is my doing."
People try to fight to reign the kingdom by his way, but the Lord has his way. If we do not follow the way of God, there will be fail and lost more!
The division is permanent, with a constant state of hot or cold war between the kingdoms. Only in the reigns of Ahab-Ahaziah-Joram in Israel and Jehoshaphat-Jehoram-Ahaziah in Judah was the breach temporarily healed through a marriage alliance. And that resulted in the near-extinction of the royal house of Judah at the hands of Queen Athaliah.
Why?
At that moment people of Judah obeyed the word of the Lord, and feared the Lord. Even the king Solomon turn away from the Lord. So when the word of God is coming, they listened and do not flight against Israel.
God's word bring peace and comfort!
God's word bring wisdom and give us the way to walk when we are in trouble or do not know where to go.
How?
Obey the word of God is the best way to live and have peace in the world. It is the best way to resolve problem.

Identify the advice is the way of the Lord
1 Kings 12:10-17
So the king did not listen to the people, for this turn of events was from the Lord, to fulfill the word the Lord had spoken to Jeroboam son of Nebat through Ahijah the Shilonite.
When all Israel saw that the king refused to listen to them, the answered the king: "What share do we have in David, what part in Jesse's son? To your tent, O Israel! Look after your own house, O David! So the Israelite went home.
The nation's history as recounted in Kings fully bears this out. In 11:13 God reduces the kingdom because Solomon has broken covenant and disobeyed his commands. And as Israel strays further and further from the law and worship of God, things go from bad to worse. Internal strife weakens both kingdoms. The nation becomes prey to stronger neighbors, and is eventually devoured by the great powers.
Why?
Rehoboam listen to the advice of the younger set. It turned from the Lord to fulfill the word the Lord had spoken, and it is because Solomon has broken covenant and disobeyed God's commands.
How to identify the suggestion is right and follow the way of God? Keep our heart to observe the decree of the Lord and worship the Lord, focus on the Lord. Let the Holy Spirit to lead us.
When our heart away from the Lord then we can not identify the way of God.
How?
Always keep heart to the Lord and obey God's commands. Then I will know what is the way of the Lord, and what is good advice.

Serving God by serving people
1 Kings 12:1-9
King Rehoboam consulted the elders who had served his father Solomon during his lifetime. They replied, "If today you will be a servant to these people and serve them and give them a favorable answer, they will always e your servant."
Rehoboam rejected the advice the elders gave him and consulted the young men who had grown up with him and were serving him.
Solomon is dead. Rehoboam is king. And the people bring their complaints. The northern tribes find a leader and spokesman in Jeroboam. But negotiations break down in face of Rehoboam's strong-arm tactics.
Why?
Rehoboam has growing in rich environment and he does not love his people, he like the power of king and authority as his father. So he rejected the advice the elders gave him.
To be a leader who will success when he love his people. God likes a king love his people.
The Lord loves his followers love others as God loves us.
How?
