2 Chronicles 8:1-10
At the end of twenty years, during which Solomon built the temple of the Lord and his own palace, Solomon rebuilt the villages that Hiram[a] had given him, and settled Israelites in them.
Whatever he desired to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon and throughout all the territory he ruled.
Solomon conscripted the descendants of all these people remaining in the land—whom the Israelites had not destroyed—to serve as slave labor, as it is to this day. But Solomon did not make slaves of the Israelites for his work; they were his fighting men, commanders of his captains, and commanders of his chariots and charioteers. They were also King Solomon’s chief officials—two hundred and fifty officials supervising the men.
This account differs from Kings in verse 2.
Verse 10: The 250 officers plus 3600 overseers add up to the same total as the 550 plus 3300 in 1 Kings 9L23; 5:16
Why?
Solomon built his palace more than built the Temple. But God blesses him, so Solomon di whatever he desired to build in Jerusalem, throughout all the territory he ruled.
Solomon did not make slaves of the Israelites for his work for they are his brother and sister.
Solomon used up all the resources Haram gave him and his father David prepared.
How?
God is the king who does whatever he desired, for God loves us we may live with joy and peace.
