See, I am going to tear the kingdom out of Solomon’s hand and give you ten tribes

 1 Kings 11:26-40

About that time Jeroboam was going out of Jerusalem, and Ahijah the prophet of Shiloh met him on the way, wearing a new cloak. The two of them were alone out in the country, and Ahijah took hold of the new cloak he was wearing and tore it into twelve pieces. Then he said to Jeroboam, “Take ten pieces for yourself, for this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘See, I am going to tear the kingdom out of Solomon’s hand and give you ten tribes. 

I will do this because they have forsaken me and worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Molek the god of the Ammonites, and have not walked in obedience to me, nor done what is right in my eyes, nor kept my decrees and laws as David, Solomon’s father, did.

However, as for you, I will take you, and you will rule over all that your heart desires; you will be king over Israel. If you do whatever I command you and walk in obedience to me and do what is right in my eyes by obeying my decrees and commands, as David my servant did, I will be with you. I will build you a dynasty as enduring as the one I built for David and will give Israel to you.  I will humble David’s descendants because of this, but not forever.

A story reminiscent; and within his own nation, there is Jeroboam, the man destined by God to rule over the ten breakaway tribes after the king's death.

Significantly, the Chronicter mots the negative aspects of Solomon's reign from his account.

Why?

All of the stories is planned by the Lord, even God has given Solomon good wisdom and wealth, but when he turns always from the Lord, the punishment and ruin are coming, it is the consequence of sins.

God chose Jeroboam as leader of Israel and divided Solomon's kingdom into Juda and Israel two countries.

內憂： 內部有人起來造反：耶羅波安。先知說明：十個支派給耶羅波安，並且說明原因，為何將國賜給他。二個支派給羅波安因大衛的緣故。

國本來就不是所羅門的，是屬於神的，只是交給所羅門管理。我們的權利都是神給的，我們只是管家，若我們不聽主人的話，神就會收回。神一直存留他們機會悔改，雖然人已經背約了。既然已經背約，且不公不義為何不全滅掉，還要留兩個支派給他們?因為神仍然愛他們，給他們機會。神輕易把恩典收回。耶羅波安是個沒有信仰的人，神為何要把國交給他?不是人有多好，神才揀選，神要人特恩典，悔改歸向神！神要祝福耶羅波安，白白恩典臨到，同樣我們也是像耶羅波安一樣，耶羅波安代表我們，得到好處後忘記了神!神給人機會，神的愛大到一個程度，即使我們不義。求神堅固我們的心，不要像耶羅波安一樣。
