Luke 10:25-42
On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”
But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me! “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Why?
What to do to inherit eternal life: obey the laws of the Lord and love our neighbor, this neighbor is not living beside me but the people around me.
We are easily busy on the service of the Lord, but most important is the Lord, Jesus Christ. Listen to the word of the Lord, closer to the Lord, and witness Jesus Christ in my daily life. The problem is we easily stand in the wrong position, we stand in our own position to look at everything. We should stand in the position of Jesus to see which one is needed.
How?
Let me stand in the position of Jesus to see this world.
