You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.

Psalm 412:1-7

I cry aloud to the LordI lift up my voice to the Lord for mercy. I pour out before him my complaint; before him I tell my trouble.

When my spirit grows faint within me, it is you who watch over my way. In the path where I walk people have hidden a snare for me. Look and see, there is no one at my right hand; no one is concerned for me. I have no refuge; no one cares for my life.

I cry to you, LordI say, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”

Listen to my cryfor I am in desperate need; rescue me from those who pursue me, for they are too strong for me. Set me free from my prison, that I may praise your nameThen the righteous will gather about me because of your goodness to me.

Why?

David stayed in the cave for there was no way to escape so David cried to the Lord for help.

Yes, the Lord is my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.

May the Lord set me free from my prison, that I may praise your name. This is my prayer either.

Because of God's goodness to me so I praise the Lord and pray to the Lord.

Even in a worse situation, there was no hope, no help, no friend, David knew the Lord was the only hope to him. So David prayed to the Lord deeply from his heart. You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living. No the land of the dead.

How?

Pray to the Lord for my God is good, and the Lord listens to everyone who trusts in Him. may be the answer is not as we expected, but it is always good to me.
