Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters

Isaiah 55:01-13
Invitation of thirsty.
“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money,  come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare.
Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.
As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughtsAs the rain and the snow come down from heavenand do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,  So is my word that goes out from my mouth:  It will not return to me empty.
This will be for the Lord’s renown, for an everlasting sign, that will endure forever.
Come to me, 'God's invites.' 'I make no charge.' And his responsive people, in turn, call the nations to come.
The vision in these later chapters of Isaiah goes far beyond the events of the actual return from exile, the restoration of Israel which took place then merges into a vision of the final glorious day when sin and sorrow will be no more, and the whole Israel of God will be for ever at home with the Lord.
Why?
You have no momey, come , buy and eat. It is need cost but Jesus Christ has paid for us, so we may come to the Lord freely, without coast, without money.
Oh Man! Why takes effort on what does not satisfy?  People though water and money can satisfy our heart. But only God has the everlasting water and food to us.
God's word like snow and rain come down from heaven and do not return, so God's word is faithful and could be trusted.
God is inviting everyone come to Him. When we turn to the Lord, it will not return to God empty. God has given me prosper and plenty. I wll praise to the Lord forever!
How?
God has given what he promised, for I follow his way and I will continue do what God's delight.

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken

Isaiah  54:01-17
Do not be afraid; you will not be put to shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood.
For your Maker is your husband the Lord Almighty is his name—the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.
“For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back.  In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord your Redeemer.
Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication(表白) from me,” declares the Lord.
God pledges himself in tender, unswerving, enduring love to his people. Though 'mountains and hills may crumble' God's love for them will never end. In peace and security the foundations of a new and dazzling city are laid.
Why?
God pledges himself to his people, Do not be afraid, you will not be put to shame.
Even there was brief moment God let them suffered, but with deep compassion God will being them back. It is let people know that He is the Lord who loves them.
God's love is unfailing love and I will not be shaken. Stand on the rock of salvation of Jesus Christ.
To be God's servants will heritage all good from the Lord.
How great the promise from the Lord, " You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood."
How?
God has the unfailing love to me, so do not be afraid, I will not be put to shame. My Lord is my heavenly father.

We all, like sheep, have gone astray

Isaiah 52:13-53:12
See, my servant will act wisely; he will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted. Just as there were many who were appalled at him his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any human being and his form marred beyond human likeness.
Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfiedby his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.
Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressorsFor he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
This fourth Servant Song is the best=known of all. The scene shifts from the joyous home-coming to the lonely figure who paid the price of it. How different this is from the people's understanding of the future king: no acclaim, only rejection - a figure despised and ignored. Could God's hand be in this? Yes. 'It was my will that he should suffer'. He 'will bear the punishment of many and for his sake I will forgive them.
The New Testament echoes Isaiah, seeing in Jesus the ultimate fulfillment of these words. He it was who willingly gave his life that all might be forgiven.
Why?
Jesus is the Lord, our savior. Isaiah described the Servant of the Lord, he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
No one like Jesus who knew his mission and fulfillment the will of the Lord.
There is echoes between here and the New Testament about Jesus Christ.
All of us are like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way, but God has laid on him the iniquity of us all. What we can say? No. Obey and trust in the Lord and follow his way.
How?
Praise the Lord, walking with Jesus Christ to honor holy name of the Lord.

Depart, depart, go out from there, the Lord will go before you

Isaiah 52:1-12
Awake, awake, Zion, clothe yourself with strength!
For this is what the Lord says:You were sold for nothing,  and without money you will be redeemed.
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good newswho proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
Depart, depart, go out from there! Touch no unclean thing! Come out from it and be pure, you who carry the articles of the Lord’s house. But you will not leave in haste or go in flight;
for the Lord will go before you, the God of Israel will be your rear guard. It is time to shake off grief and lethargy. There is good news, God is about to escort his people home.
Why?
Awake and depart, go out from there! The captivity is ended, God will deliver his people to home.
God is go before us, we leave from captivity or slavery will no leave in haste or go in flight, like Israelite left Egypt and return from Persia and Media.
God's people was sold for nothing for their sins and be slavery in Babylonian. Now the Lord bring them to home with peace and they don't need pay anything. Like Jesus give us a way to the Lord and we don't need to pay, just need believe Jesus is the son of God.
How?
Depart, depart, go out from there, go out from my comfort land and position and go on the way of the Lord. God is go before me!

I am he who comforts you

Isaiah 51:12-23
“I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you that you fear mere mortals, human beings who are but grassthat you forget the Lord your Makerwho stretches out the heavens and who lays the foundations of the earth, that you live in constant terror every day because of the wrath of the oppressor, who is bent on destruction?
Awake, awake! Rise up, Jerusalemyou who have drunk from the hand of the Lord the cup of his wrathyou who have drained to its dregs the goblet that makes people stagger.
This is what your Sovereign Lord says, your God, who defends his people:“See, I have taken out of your hand the cup that made you stagger; from that cup, the goblet of my wrath, you will never drink again. I will put it into the hands of your tormentors,  who said to you, ‘Fall prostrate that we may walk on you.’ And you made your back like the ground, like a street to be walked on.”
The terrible time of suffering is past.
Why?
God gave Israel good news that the terrible time is over. The wrath of God's cup will be past away.
Why they suffered such disaster is because of their sins and make God wrath. But God is full of mercy and love, God promise that they never drink again this wrath cup.
All human beings who are but grass, remember the Lord my maker, who created the heaven and earth. My life is depends on the Lord.
God is my comforter, my strength, listen to his word and follow his way.
How?
Remember God who is my Lord, Maker of me!

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, the heavens will vanish like smoke

Isaiah 51:1-11
Listen to me, my people; hear me, my nationInstruction will go out from me;
my justice will become a light to the nations.

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like fliesBut my salvation will last forever,  my righteousness will never fail.
But my righteousness will last forever, my salvation through all generations.
Awake, awake, arm of the Lord, clothe yourself with strength!
Those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
God always keeps his promises. As he kept his word to childless Abraham and Sarah, so he will save his people and with them alll the nations.
Why?
Listen to God's word and lift up our eyes to the heavens, God is always keep his promises. God's salvation will last forever, his righteousness will never fail.
Awake and be strong, clothee myself with strength!
Do not listen to the word among people, but the word of the Lord. This is generation of many information, but be careful, only God's word is my way and my strength.
Thia world will passed away, the heaven will vanish like smoke, But God's salvation will last forever, God's righteousness will never fail. This is my promise from the Lord.
How?
Listen to God, and lift up my eyes to the heavens. My Lord is a living God.

Was my arm too short to deliver you? Do I lack the strength to rescue you?

Isaiah 50:1-11
Because of your sins you were sold; because of your transgressions your mother was sent away.
When I came, why was there no one? When I called, why was there no one to answer? Was my arm too short to deliver you? Do I lack the strength to rescue you? By a mere rebuke I dry up the sea, I turn rivers into a desert; their fish rot for lack of water and die of thirst.
Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgracedTherefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.
Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the word of his servant? Let the one who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord  and rely on their God. But now, all you who light fires and provide yourselves with flaming torches, go, walk in the light of your fires and of the torches you have set ablaze. This is what you shall receive from my hand: You will lie down in torment.
In the third Servant Song, for the first time we glimpse his suffering and rejection. But nothing can deflect him from his purpose.
Why?
Was my arm too short to deliver you? Do I lack the strength to rescue you?  God can save us God is the sovereign Lord, but for our sins and transgressions so we were suffered and be sent away.
Isaiah gave us the way that the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced.
Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the word of his servant?  This is the key to be blessed.
There is dark and not light, people though it is the day light or torch, but God is the light of our soul and heart. God's light can show our inner sins and transgression in our mind. But very sad that most people still hard their neck and heart, walk on their won way. They thought that is right way, but to the downfall.
How?
Fear the Lord and obey the word of his servant.
