What are mortals, that they could be righteous?

Job 15:1-16
Then Eliphaz the Temanite replied: Your own mouth condemns you, not mine;   your own lips testify against you.
What do you know that we do not know? What insights do you have that we do not have?
What are mortals, that they could be pure, or those born of woman, that they could be righteous?
If God places no trust in his holy ones, if even the heavens are not pure in his eyes, how much less mortals, who are vile and corrupt, who drink up evil like water!
The debate grows more heated. Job has needled his friends, and they make no allowances for the stress he is under. It never crosses their minds he may really be innocent. They go on doggedly defending their position and trying to bludgeon Job into submission.
Why?
No one is righteous before the Lord.
Actually, no one knows what is the way of the Lord either.
--------------------------

They feel but the pain of their own bodies and mourn only for themselves.

Job 14:1-22
“Mortals, born of woman, are of few days and full of troubleThey spring up like flowers and wither away; like fleeting shadows, they do not endure.
Who can bring what is pure from the impure? No oneA person’s days are determinedyou have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceedSo look away from him and let him alone, till he has put in his time like a hired laborer.
If only you would hide me in the grave and conceal me till your anger has passedIf only you would set me a time and then remember me!
You will call and I will answer you; you will long for the creature your hands have made. Surely then you will count my steps but not keep track of my sin.
You overpower them once for all, and they are gone; you change their countenance and send them awayIf their children are honored, they do not know it; if their offspring are brought low, they do not see it. They feel but the pain of their own bodies and mourn only for themselves.
Life is short and there is no waling a person from the sleep of death. Job cries to God to hide him away in the land of the dead until his anger is past, and then to restore him.
Why?
Man's life is short and full of trouble, and God has limited his time in the world.
Job please the Lord hide him in the grace and conceal him from his anger, second, look away from him and left him alone.
My pain only I feel it, others cannot imagine it.  People are so small and weak in their life.

What you know, I also know; I am not inferior to you

Job 13:1-28
My eyes have seen all this, my ears have heard and understood it. What you know, I also knowI am not inferior to you. But I desire to speak to the Almighty and to argue my case with GodYou, however, smear me with lies; you are worthless physicians, all of you! If only you would be altogether silent! For you, that would be wisdom.
Why do I put myself in jeopardy and take my life in my hands? Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face.
Only grant me these two things, God, and then I will not hide from you: Withdraw your hand far from me, and stop frightening me with your terrors. Then summon me and I will answer, or let me speak, and you reply to me. How many wrongs and sins have I committed? Show me my offense and my sin.
Job's experience gives the lie to the arguments of his friends. He will put his case to God direct, and God will acquit him. What are the charges against him?
Why?
All Job's friends talk is worthless to him. If Job has sinned against the Lord, tell him what are the charges against him.
Job asked his friends to be silent, for silent could be wisdom, for man's talk usually useless, to suffering people need comfort and empathy.
------------

The tents of marauders are undisturbed, and those who provoke God are secure

Jobs 12:1-25
Then Job replied:
Doubtless you are the only people who matter, and wisdom will die with you!
But I have a mind as well as youI am not inferior to you. Who does not know all these things?

The tents of marauders are undisturbed,  and those who provoke God are secure—   those God has in his hand.
Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding?
To God belong wisdom and powercounsel and understanding are his. What he tears down cannot be rebuilt;
He makes nations great, and destroys them; he enlarges nations, and disperses them. He deprives the leaders of the earth of their reason; he makes them wander in a trackless waste. They grope in darkness with no light; he makes them stagger like drunkards.
Job is stung to sarcasm. His friends are not the only ones who can work things out. God is all-wise, all-powerful. If he turns the norms of wisdom and justice upside-down, what can anyone do about it?
Why?
God has the power to turn the norms of wisdom and justice upside-down.
Doubtless, all his friends said are well known to Jon and others.
To God belong wisdom and power, no one can challenge Him.
Trust in the Lord for God's love endure forever! God's way beyond our way and mind.
-----------------------

Can you fathom the mysteries of God?

Job 11:1-20
Then Zophar the Naamathite replied: You say to God, ‘My beliefs are flawless and I am pure in your sight.’ Oh, how I wish that God would speak, that he would open his lips against you and disclose to you the secrets of wisdom, for true wisdom has two sides.  Know this: God has even forgotten some of your sin. Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty? They are higher than the heavens above—what can you do? They are deeper than the depths below—what can you know? Their sure is longer than the earth and wider than the sea.
But the witless can no more become wise than a wild donkey’s colt can be born human.
if you put away the sin that is in your hand and allow no evil to dwell in your tentthen, free of fault, you will lift up your face; you will stand firm and without fear.
Zophar's words are harshest of all. He has no patience with Job's irreverent talk. Does Job think himself innocent? God is letting him down lightly. Job must put away his sin; then God will restore him.
Everything is black and white to Zophar. He doesn't doubt that his position is right. Yet he hits the mark when he asks 'Can you fathom the mystery of God?', for it is in these terms that God will 'answer' Job and Job will be satisfied.
Why?
Job is innocent but the suffering was coming upon him, so Jon cried to the Lord.
Zophar said God's power and the way is right, "Can you fathom the mysteries of God?" so we don't know the reason for God's works.
But Zophar was defined Job has sinned and criticized Job have to return from sins. His suffering will be restored.
Everything is black and white to Zophar, actually, Zophar even did not know the way of the Lord.
-----------------------

If I sinned, you would be watching me and would not let my offense go unpunished

Job 10:1-22
You must search out my faults and probe after my sin— though you know that I am not guilty and that no one can rescue me from your hand?
Your hands shaped me and made me. Will you now turn and destroy me?  Remember that you molded me like clay. Will you now turn me to dust again?
If I sinned, you would be watching me and would not let my offense go unpunished. If I am guilty—woe to meEven if I am innocent, I cannot lift my headfor I am full of shame and drowned in my affliction.
Are not my few days almost over? Turn away from me so I can have a moment’s joy.
Why?
Job was pain and suffering much shame. So Job asked the Lord let him pass away.

Job though dead could release from this shame and suffering.
Only the Lord can judge anyone innocent or guilty, so Jon asked the Lord to do something to him and release him from life.
Even under such circumstances, Job still respects the authority of the Lord and hope the Lord watches him.
-----------------

If only there were someone to arbitrate between us

Job 9:25-35
I still dread all my sufferings, for I know you will not hold me innocent. Since I am already found guilty, why should I struggle in vain?
He is not a man like me that I might answer him, that we might confront each other in court.
If only there were someone to arbitrate between us, to lay his hand upon us both, someone to remove God's rod from me, so that his terror would frighten me no more.
Then I would speak up without fear of him, but as it now stands with me, I cannot.
Even if he got as far as the court he could not be sure of a fair hearing and impartial administration of the law.
Why?
Job confessed he has sinned, if so why he is struggling but in vain?
If there is a man to arbitrate between Jon and the Lord, Jon may deliver his pain through this messenger. Jesus Christ is the one who stands between God and us. Preaches word between me and the Lord. How great is the Lord, let Jesus be our comforter and the Holy Spirit be with us.
How?
All of us are sinners, but through Jesus Christ and trust in Him, we may come to Him and pray to the Lord,
