Proverbs 12:1-28

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.

No one can be established through wickedness, but the righteous cannot be uprooted.

A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones. 

The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright rescues them.

Better to be a nobody and yet have a servant than pretend to be somebody and have no food.

From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things, and the work of their hands brings them reward.

The prudent keep their knowledge to themselves, but a fool’s heart blurts out folly.

Why?

A kind word may cheer the broken heart.

Discipline is good for a man who loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.

Better to be a nobody than pretend to be somebody and have no food. This is the real word.

How?

Be a wise man and speak the right word to others.

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one who is wise saves lives

Proverbs 11:1-31

The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him. When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. 

The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.

Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.

Whoever derides their neighbor has no sense,but the one who has understanding holds their tongue.

Whoever puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer, but whoever refuses to shake hands in pledge is safe.

Truly the righteous attain life, but whoever pursues evil finds death. The Lord detests those whose hearts are perverse, but he delights in those whose ways are blameless.

Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion.

One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one who is wise saves lives.

Why?

Righteous attain life, but whoever pursues evil finds death. Righteous relative to life.

Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death. So righteousness is more important than wealth.

Keeping a good relationship with the neighbor is important and keep holding their tongue is wisdom.

詭詐、驕傲放在一起比較對照，設計一些計謀、驕傲是靠自己的性格，詭詐的人通常也是驕傲的人

公平和謙遜放在一起，寧可自己吃虧

天平、法碼在日常生活可見，若是詭詐、就是表裏不一。

這裏沒有提到救恩，義人是倚靠耶和華的人，不是靠自己做什麼！

v11-13 說話有關的事情。往來傳舌的，對照，心中誠實的。傳舌時會加添其他字句，以致最後變質。

聖經要求人不要為人做保，有誰講話不會落空呢?人常常失信，所以怎麼能保證別人，自己都不能保證自己失信了。最後都會落空。恩德的婦女得尊榮；強暴的男子得資財。尊榮勝過資財，婦女與男子，代表地位低與高

乖僻（邪惡）, 完全(正直)的對比

縱使穿戴美麗沒有見識，如豬一樣還是被人牽著鼻環走。

當我們願意更多分享、給予，就更多得恩惠。

倚仗自己財物的對比義人，義人是依靠耶和華的

義人在世尚且受報：人自己在世上所行的，還是要付上代價。如在獄中囚犯信主，他仍然要為他所行的付上代價，最大的死亡的代價耶穌幫我們付了！

Proverbs 10:1-32

A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son brings grief to his mother. Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value, but righteousness delivers from death. The Lord does not let the righteous go hungry, but he thwarts the craving of the wicked. Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.

Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs. Wisdom is found on the lips of the discerning, but a rod is for the back of one who has no sense.

The wealth of the rich is their fortified city, but poverty is the ruin of the poor.

Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.

Sin is not ended by multiplying words, but the prudent hold their tongues. The tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked is of little value.

The fear of the Lord adds length to life, but the years of the wicked are cut short. The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.

Why?

It is clear that love covers all wrong, but hatred stirs up conflict.

Be careful of our tongues, the tongue of the righteous is choice silver.

Fear of the Lord adds length to life for the Lord protects the righteous men.

箴言不易抓出脈絡

不讓父母擔憂，也是不讓聖靈擔憂的智慧之子。

不義和公義在生命的不同，不是過的好不好。以後後人想到的是什麼?

以眼傳神，為何不用說，因為不能正大光明的說！私下設計謀！

行正直路的，步步安穩，是走的不用懼怕！有安全感！

義人的口是生命的泉源，明哲人嘴裡有智慧，義人的口滋生智慧；乖謬的舌必被割斷。強調說話。

懶惰與勤勞：不要因為懶惰而貧窮。聖經沒有說貧窮不好或是富足不好，寧可因為行義貧窮。我們存錢是因為行義路，從神而來的富足。

耶和華不使義人受飢餓，而是要我們殷勤工作。神喜悅人努力工作，雖然我們不是靠行為稱義！

Fear of the Lord and don't speak too many from our mouth. Let wisdom be found on my discerning lips.

Proverbs 9:1-18

Wisdom has built her house; she has set up its seven pillars. 

She has sent out her servants, and she calls from the highest point of the city, “Let all who are imple come to my house!” To those who have no sense she says, “Come, eat my food and drink the wine I have mixed. Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of insight.”

Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults; whoever rebukes the wicked incurs abuse. Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you; rebuke the wise and they will love you. Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For through wisdom your days will be many, and years will be added to your life. If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.

To those who have no sense she says, “Stolen water is sweet; food eaten in secret is delicious!” But little do they know that the dead are there, that her guests are deep in the realm of the dead.

Why?

Compare the wisdom and simple man, wisdom accepts the advice but whoever corrects a mocker invites insults. So say the right word to the wiser, and keep silent to the mocker.

Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

There is no common sense between wise men and mockers or simple men.

How?

Fear the Lord and listen to the word of the Lord, this is the way to peace and joy.

如何處屬靈的失敗 撒12:19

 撒下12:19-20

大衞生命中罪惡最大的。

耶和華因此事甚不喜悅此嬰兒出生。

12:24 大衞安慰他的妻別士巴，前面記載是烏利亞的妻，後面記載大衛的妻。後來孩子同樣的父母，耶和華喜悅。

這當中一定有好的作為。大衞如何面對生命中最大的軟弱。我們都是平凡的人。可以讓我們學習。

大衞是勇士，每次都是他帶兵出戰，此時大衛靈性，體力都不行了，亞比篩救他回來。大衞在平順富足時反而頹廢了。體力，靈性都一樣。

大衞在神面前認罪悔改7天。如他作的詩篇51篇。

大衞在孩子死後起來，事與願違，我們的態度如何？大衛3沒有抱怨神，沒有抱怨神，潔淨自己後首先去敬白7神，然後吃飯 

勇於承擔我們的錯誤與羞恥。不要想去掩蓋罪

認罪，禱告後，接受神的決定與結果。

For those who find me find life and receive favor from the Lord

Proverbs 8:22-36

The Lord brought me forth as the first of his works, before his deeds of old; I was formed long ages ago, at the very beginning, when the world came to be. When there were no watery depths, I was given birth, when there were no springs overflowing with water; before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was given birth, before he made the world or its fields or any of the dust of the earth. I was there when he set the heavens in place, when he marked out the horizon on the face of the deep.

“Now then, my children, listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways. Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not disregard it. Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway. For those who find me find life and receive favor from the Lord. But those who fail to find me harm themselves; all who hate me love death.”

Why?

Wisdom is created by the Lord the first works of the Lord.

Wisdom is created before this world was created.

Listen to wisdom and keep the way of wisdom, blessed are those who listen to wisdom.

How?

The consequence of life depends on our way of choosing. May my way be the way of the Lord.

Wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her

Proverbs 8:1-21

To you, O people, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind. You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, set your hearts on it. 

For wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.

To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have insight, I have power.

With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity. My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver. I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice, bestowing a rich inheritance on those who love me and making their treasuries full.

Why?

Wisdom is calling the people to come to him all day, but no many people come to him. Most people are simple and foolish.

Wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing we desire can compare with her. It is true.

We have no right to judge so do not criticize others.

If we have wisdom, then we may have riches and honor. Wisdom comes from the Lord.

How?

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.
