Some times later

Nehemiah 13:1-14
After Nehemiah return to king of Babylon, some time later he asked his permission and came back to Jerusalem. He found Elishib the priest had been put in charge of the storerooms of the house of God, he had was closely associated with Tobaih, and provided him with a large room formerly used to store the grain offerings and incense and temple articles and also the tithes of grain.
Nehemiah gave orders to purify the rooms and put back into them the equipment of the house of God.
Nehemiah rebuked the officials and asked them,"Why is the house of God neglected?" Then he called them together and stationed them at their posts.
O my God, and do not blot out what I have so faithfully done for the house of my God and its services.
Why?
12:44-13:3 are by way of editor's notes. At verse 4 we are back with Nehemiah.
After 12 years of the governor, Nehemiah goes back to the court of King Artaxerxes. He is there some time.On his return he finds 1)abuses that threaten(defend) the law of God, 2)the nation's identity and 3)the priesthood. The people have already gone back on many of the promises so recently made to God.
The leaders of people did not give tithe to the Levites so the storeroom is empty, and Elishib was closely associated with Tobaih, let him put his own property into the house of God.
People easy forget their vows to the Lord when the Spiritual leader is away from them, people needs to be reminder to remember the Lord.
Some times later is not very longer but people has gone back to their old living styles, defended the law of God, neglected the house of God.
Do not read the word of God, some times later will forget the Lord.
How?
Reading Bible and meditate it every morning, keeping worship the Lord in church each Sunday. Let it be the basic living style to keep us fear the Lord and follow his commands.

Purified themselves ceremonially, then purify the people and the wall

Nehemiah 12:1-47
At the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, the Levites were sought out from where they lived and were bought to Jerusalem to celebrate joyfully the dedication with songs of thanksgiving and with the music of cymbals harps and lyres.
When the priests and Levites had purified themselves ceremonially, they purified the people the gates and the wall.
Nehemiah assigned two large choirs to give thanks.
Two processions, each led by a choir, make their way in opposite directions along the broad tip of the wall, meeting in the Temple area for the concluding thanksgiving and sacrifices. It is an occasion of tumultuous joy and noisy celebration.
At that time men were appointed to be in charge of the storerooms for the contributionsfirst fruits and tithes. All Israel contributed the daily portions for the singers and gatekeepers.
Why?
It is not bureaucratic pedantry that has preserved these names The point is that these people and their chronicler are conscious of their roots and of their structure as God's company. This is no rabble烏合之眾 of refugees, settling down anywhere.
All of people of Levites and priests followed the commands of David and Solomon to serve in the temple. Back to worship the Lord with joy and their duty.
How?
Choir is the leader of thanksgiving, and the flight for the Lord. Member of choir and priests need to purify themselves first, them purify the people and other matters. Each Sunday is the Holy day of God.

Make everything clear to serve the Lord

Nehemiah 11:1-36
The leaders of the people settled in Jerusalem, and the rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of every ten to live in Jerusalem, the holy city, while the remaining nine were to stay in their own towns. The people commended all the men who volunteered to live in Jerusalem.
11:3-19 is probably a list of these already living in Jerusalem. The number was increased by a 10 percent levy on the villages around.
Why?
Jerusalem need resident to live there, so they cast lots to decide who live Jerusalem, most people were living in around own towns.
Leader of people should living in Jerusalem, it is easy to handle the management of country.
Each time to list the name of Israelite is a new generation or era in Israel history.
Make clear who is living in the Jerusalem and the list of Levite and priest to serve the Lord. So as the servant of the Lord have list in heaven.
How?
List every thing the Lord has done on me, do not forget it!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do not worry, wait for God's work, I was too hurry to ship my luggage to Taiwan, but because I prepared the luggage so my friend asked me why, and then he told he has new job position to me. All of the is so coincident to me, I believed it is the work been done by the Lord. Xiwu called me last night that he may afford me a job since Aug.2013

Obey the commands of the Lord and will not neglect the calling of the Lord.

Nehemiah 9:32-10:39
In view of all this, we are making a binding agreement, putting it in writing, and our leaders, our Levites and our priests are affixing their seals to it.
The rest of the people- priests, Levites, gatekeepers, singers, temples servants and all who separated themselves from the neighboring peoples for the sake of the law of God, together with their wives and all their sons and daughter who are able to understand- bind themselves with a curse and an oath to follow the Law of God given through Moses and to obey carefully all the commands, regulations and decrees of the Lord.
The people pledge specifically to keep the law's requirements on 1)marriage, the 2)Sabbath, and 3)taxes, tithes and 4)offerings to support the Temple services priest and Levites.
'We will obey that the Lord our god commands... We will not neglect the house of our God.'
Why?
The review of their history in the great confession produces a longing to signup once again to the covenant- agreement with God, so often broken. Nehemiah the governor, priests, Levites ad leaders sign on behalf of the nation. The covenant is ratified in customary style with a curse and an oath.
Now we don't have to make an oath, but in the promise to obey the commands of the Lord for His Love and Grace endure forever.
How?
I will obey that the Lord our God commands and fear our God.
I will not neglect the needy peoples, I will not neglect the calling from the Lord.

Stand up and praise the Lord my God, who is the only king everlasting to everlasting

Nehemiah 8:13-9:8
The second day of the month, the heads of all the families, along with the priests and the Levites, gathered around Ezra the scribe to gave attention to the words of the law, They found written in the Law, which the Lord had commanded through Moses, that the Israelites were to live in booths during the feast of the seventh month. So they did as the word of Moses said, they celebrated the feast for seven days, and on the eighth day, in accordance with the regulation, there was an assembly.
On the twenty-fourth day of the same month, the Israelites gathered together, fasting and wearing sackcloth and having dust on their heads. They stood in their places and confessed their sins and the wickedness of their fathers.
Eight leaders standing on the stairs said:"Stand up and praise the Lord your God, who is from everlasting to everlasting."
Why?
In the course of study, they rediscover the original instructions for the Feast of Tabernacles.  For the first time since Joshua they make leafy shelters to live in, as a reminder of their ancestors's desert-wandering after the exodus from Egypt.
Here, reversing the usual order, feasting is followed by fasting, joy by sorrow. The nations's repentance is genuine. Wrongs are righted and the people turn to God in confession and worship.
After been exiled Israelite really repent to their sins and the wickedness of their fathers. It is the recovery from their loss and turn back to the blessing of the Lord.
No matter where you are, no matter what you have done, when you repent and turn to the Lord, the sin is released and get the freedom and blessing from the Lord.
The reconstruction the wall then recovery of their heart and return back to the Lord is very important. Only the blessing of the Lord may keep us live peace and joy for ever. Repentance have to be done from the leaders to every one in the nation.
How?
Stand up and praise the Lord my God, who is the only king everlasting to everlasting.

Delight to serve the Lord, do not constrain myself, go go go! Be still before I speak.

Nehemiah 8:1-12
Ezra the scribe read the Law before the assembly, all the people listened attentively to the book of the Law. Levites instructed the people in the Law while the people were standing there, they giving the meaning so that the people could understand what was being read.
Nehemiah said to people, "This day is sacred to the Lord your God. Do not mourn or weep". For all the people had been weeping as they listened to the words of the Law.
Nehemiah said "This day is sacred to out Lord . Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength."
The Levites calmed all the people, saying,"Be still, for this is a scared day. Do not grieve."
This action in these chapters takes place only a few days after the work in the walls in finished. It is the 'seventh month', the beginning of the religious new year with its important festivals.
Ezra, the priest and law-scholar of the book of Ezra, reappears to take the lead in religious affairs. These chapters, written in the third person, break into the memoirs of Nehemiah which are  taken up again from 1:27
Why?
When the learn the full measure of God's standards the people are overwhelmed with grief at the extent of their failures. (Just as King Josiah had been, long before; 2 King 22)
People when suffered the stress and failure they are easy to repent and understand the meaning of the word of God.
It is sacred day so do not weep or mourn, when we repented , we should turn to joy for new life is in me.
The joy of the Lord is my strength, it is not the joy of myself, but do what the Lord delight. What is it? Help needed person, do the righteous matter, love others with faithfulness. Even the sinner or weaker in faith.
I have to confess that 1)my thinking is too self-concentrate, I should consider what the listener reaction will be to my word spoke. Thanks the Lord gives me such a wise wife to remind me. 2)I am too care my face, my honor, somehow personal honor or glory is nothing when I do the right thing, why should I afraid so much?  Delight to everything I am facing, joy of the Lord is my strength. Be still, do not grieve or worry.
How
Delight to serve the Lord, do not constrain myself, go go go! Be still before I speak.

Integrity and fear the Lord

Nehemiah 7:1-73
Nehemiah put in charge of Jerusalem his brother Hanani, along with Hanaiah the commander of the citadel, because he was a man of integrity and feared God more than most men do.
God puts it into his heart to assemble the nobles, the officials and the common people for registration by families. He found the genealogical record of those who had been the first to return.
The whole company numbered 42,360, beside their 7,337 menservants and maidservants.
Some of the heads of the families contributed to the work. The governor gave to the treasure of gold and bowls and garments for priests. Some of the heads of the families gave to the treasury for the work of gold and silver. The total given by the rest of the people was gold and  silver and  garments for priests.
The priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers and the temple servants, along with certain of the people and the rest of the Israelite, settled in their own towns.
Why?
The work competed, orders given and duties assigned.
Nehemiah decides to create a register of all the families present, discovering as he does so an earlier listing. Almost identical to the list in Ezra 2 refer to the first and main, party of Jews to return home in 538 following Cyrus' decree.
Assign a duty to keep the guard of the door of wall, Nehemiah chose rule is the man of integrity and fear the Lord much more than others.
Nehemiah' heart has a mind to do some mission, for he always prey to the Lord, he has good communication with the Lord, so may have the right mind to serve the Lord.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Integrity is a concept of consistency of actions, values, methods, measures, principles, expectations, and outcomes. In ethics, integrity is regarded as the honesty and truthfulness or accuracy of one's actions.
In discussions on behavior and morality, one view of the property of integrity sees it as the virtue of basing actions on an internally consistent framework of principles
The word "integrity" stems from the Latin adjective integer (whole, complete).[2] In this context, integrity is the inner sense of "wholeness" deriving from qualities such as honesty and consistency of character.
How?
Learned from Nehemiah how to choose trusty men and do what should to do according to the heart he has.
