Deuteronomy 9:1-29
The Lord your God is the one who goes across ahead of you like a devouring fire.
The Lord has brought me here to take possession of this land no because of my righteousness, but on account of the wickedness of these nations.
Moses stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights; he ate no bread and drank no water to listen and get the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant that the Lord had made with you.
Moses fell prostrate before the Lord for forty days and forty nights twice; he ate no bread and drank no water, because of all the sin you had committed. Moses feared the anger and wrath of the Lord, for he was angry enough with you to destroy you.
Israelite made the Lord angry at Teberah, at Massah and at Kibroth Hattaavah, and when the the Lord sent you our from Kadesh Barnea. So many times they have been rebellious against the Lord ever since I have known you.
Why?
