Jeremiah 13:1-27
The Lord asked Jeremiah used a belt to metaphor 'In the same way He will ruin the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem, they will be like this belt-completely useless!'
Every wineskin should be filled with wine. When they asked 'Don't we know that every wineskin should be filled with wine?' Everyone in Jerusalem will fill with drunkenness, all against the other, God will allow no pity or mercy or compassion to keep from destroying them.
Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard it spots? Neither can you do good who are accustomed to doing evil.
Why?
God makes use of may teaching methods to get his message across. The prophets sometimes act out their message. The garment Jeremiah conceals so that it will be spoiled is variously translated loin-cloth, belt and shorts.
Actions often speak louder and Jerusalem will be thoroughly ruined, like his garment. He was full of grief at announcing God's vengeance, through he had earlier cried out for it: If you will not listen... I will cry bitterly.
The people was pride so they did not listen to the warning of the Lord.
The Lord used parables, belt, wineskin and skin of Ethiopian and leopard could not changed to describe the stiff-necked people of Jerusalem.
How?
Humble ourselves is the basic step in present of the Lord. Humble then we can hear the voice of the Lord.
Pay attention to the Lord ! Have I heard His voice, His call? Do more! Give more! Be more! Who am I? What is my position? (from the 12/30/2012 Pastor Jimmy sermon in Church)

Do not ask the Lord why
Jeremiah 12:1-17
Jeremiah complained to the Lord, why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why of all the faithless live at ease? How long will the land lie parched and the grass in every field be withered? Moreover, the people are saying, "He will not see what happens to us."
The Lord answered Jeremiah, Do not trust them, though they speak well of you. I will forsake my house, abandon my inheritance. Over all the barren heights in the desert destroyers will swarm, for the sword of the Lord will devour from one end of the land to the other; no one will be safe.
The Lord will uproot them from their lands and I will uproot the house of Judah from among them. After I uproot them, I will again have compassion and will bring each of them back to his own inheritance and his own country. And if them learn well the ways of my people and swear by my name, they will be established among my people.
Why?
The discovery leads Jeremiah to question God about the way evil people get on in the world. He is neither the first, nor the last, to puzzle over this.
In answer, God tells him there is worse to come! Nonetheless, he will punish, and afterwards restore.
The Jordan runs below sea-level from Lake Galilee to the Dead Sea; and in Old testament times the river was bordered by dense, steamy thickets which were the haunt of wild animals.
House, inheritance, vineyard: Metaphors for the nation.
The Lord has compassion to his people, even they have done evil, he uproot them, after punished them he bring each of them back to their own land.
How?
Do not ask the Lord why, the Lord has his own plan and mercy to all of his creatures. Learn his way and swear by his holy name. I will be established among his people.

The Lord, his righteous endure forever
Jeremiah 11:1-23
Israel and Judah do not obey the terms of the covenant- God made with their forefathers when they had been brought out of Egypt. They have returned to the sins of their forefathers, who refused to listen to God's words. They have followed other gods to serve them.
They have as many gods as they have towns of Judah; and the altars you have set up to burn incense to that shameful god Bass are as may as the streets of Jerusalem.
Do not pray for this people nor offer any plea or petition for them, because I will not listen when they call to me in the time of their distress.
Because the Lord revealed their plot to Jeremiah, he knew it - they planed to cut him off from the land of the living, for at that time he showed he what they were doing. Jeremiah pray to the Lord, let him see the vengeance upon them, for he has committed his cause.
The men of Anathoth said 'Do not prophesy in the name of the Lord or you will die by our hands', so the Lord said,' Nor even a remnant will be left to them, because I will bring disaster on the men of Anathoth in the year of their punishment.'
The evidence of sins what men of Judah have done are very clear and serious, so the wrath of the Lord poured upon them, even no one left there.
Why?
The terns of God's covenant-agreement with his people, made at Sinai after the exodus, are still in force.
By persistent disobedience to God's law, and by idol-worship, Judah has broken that agreement and come under the curse.
Jeremiah must go and tell the people. Nor does God want him to pray on their behalf. it sounds as if God has had may such pleas from the prophet!
Jeremiah's message aroused such intense anger that the people of Anathoth, his home town, were prepared to kill him if he didn't stop. It i God keeping his promise to protect the prophet, who alerts Jeremiah to the danger.
How?
The Lord is good, his wrath came is for his righteous, people die in his own sins, the Lord had let them know his warning. Jeremiah pray to the Lord for his people, so I should continue pray for my friends and relatives turn to the Lord. The Lord

A man's life is not his own
Jeremiah 10:1-25
Do not learn the ways of nations or be terrified by signs in the sky, though the nations are terrified by them. Do not fear them; they can do no harm nor can they do any good. Talk about the idols.
The Lord is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King. When he is angry, the earth trembles; the nations cannot endure his wrath.
They are all senseless and foolish; everyone is senseless and without knowledge; every goldsmith is shamed by his idols.
Jeremiah's prayer: I know, O Lord, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps. Correct me, Lord, but only with justice- not in your anger, lest you reduce me to nothing.
Why?
Idols made by human hands, no matter how elaborate they may be, are lifeless, powerless, motionless, speechless. Not so the God of Israel.
It was he, not they, who created earth and sky. Now this same God is poised to destroy them.
Jeremiah's prayer on his people's behalf
Before I understood the Lord, I was terrified by the gods, their face and image. Now I know the truth, then I do not fear those idols. I fear the Lord, he is my king, my fortress and my savior.
How?
O Lord, man's life is not his own, it is in your hands, please judge me only with justice - not in your anger. May my life glorify your name.
Do not learn the ways of nations or be terrified by signs in the sky, though the nations are terrified by them. Do not fear them; they can do no harm nor can they do any good. Talk about the idols.

Boasts about that he understands and knows God almighty
Jeremiah 9:1-26
Beware of your friends; do not trust your friends. For every brother is a deceiver, and every friend a slanderer. You (Jeremiah) live in the midst of deception; in their deceit they refuse to acknowledge me.
What man is wise enough to understand this? Who has been instructed by the Lord and can explain it? Why has the land been ruined and laid waste like a desert that no one can cross?
Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justices and righteousness on earth for in these I delight," declares the Lord.
The whole house of Israel is uncircumcised in heart, they has same punishment as other uncircumcised nations.
Why?
Jeremiah shares God's own deep grief at his people's sin and its tragic consequences.
Society is sick: sick s a direct result of the nation abandoning God an his laws and going their own way. So inevitable has judgment become that the professional mourners can already be called in.
All Judah and Israel are full of deceit and lie.
Despite the outward mark of his covenant, God's people have made themselves like the pagan nations around. And like them will be punished.
People pursues the wisdom, strength and rich, all of these are shame when they do not know the Lord.
How?
Real wisdom is acknowledge the Lord, it is not the wisdom on the world. What I am pursuing for? let pursuing to acknowledge the God almighty.

Why those events happened? It is a reminder to us from God
Jeremiah 8:1-22
All the bones, kings, officials, priests or people of Jerusalem, will be exposed to the sun and the moon. They will not be gathered up or buried, but will be like refuse lying on the ground.
When men fall down, do they not get up? When a man turns away, does he not return? Why then have these people turned away? why does Jerusalem always turn away? They cling to deceit; they refuse to return.
The stork, dive, swift and thrush observe the time of their migration. But my people do not know the requirement of the Lord.
The wise will be put to shame; they will be dismayed and trapped. Since they have rejected the word of the Lord, what kind of wisdom do they have?
Why are we sitting here? Gather together! Let us flee to the fortified cities and perish there! For the Lord our God has doomed us to perish and given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against him. We hope for peace but no good come, for a time of healing but there was only terror.
Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people?
The Lord and prophet asked may "why". These stiff-necked people.
Why?
It is not always clear here whether the speaker is Jeremiah, God or the people.

Reform your ways and your actions
Jeremiah 7:1-34
The Lord says: Reform your ways and your actions, and I will let you live in this place. Do not trust in deceptive words and say,"This is the temple of the Lord!"
Go now to the place in Shiloh where I first made a dwelling for my Name, and see what I did to it because of the wickedness of my people Israel.
This is what the Sovereign Lord says: My anger and my wrath will be poured out on this place, on man and beast, on the trees of the filed and on the fruit of the ground, and it will burn and not be quenched.
This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I gave your forefather this command: Obey me, and I will be your god and you will be my people . Walk in all the ways I command you, that it may go well with you. But they did not listen or pay attention. Instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil heart.
Why?
The people refuse to repent. They are aided ad abetted by religious smooth-talkers: the scribes, the 'wise' to whom they turned for advice. the prophets and the priests. All alike are motivated by self-interest.
Shiloh was the place where the ark of God was sit there, but it was captured by Philistines in the fighting field, the place was destroyed. So the Jerusalem will be like Shiloh.
Reform our ways and actions, take care the aliens and fatherless, helpless people. It is more important than worship and sacrifice the Lord.
This is the Temple of the Lord, this is the church of God. Instead, walk in all the ways God command us. All the way, no part of the ways.
The Lord is Sovereign Lord, is the Lord almighty. He reigns over place, man, beast, trees and the fruit of ground, everything.
How?
Obey and walk in all the ways God has commanded us.

Find rest for your souls
Jeremiah 6:16-30
Find rest for your souls- ask where the good way is and walk in it.
The Lord has brought disaster on this people, the fruit of their schemes, because they have not listened to his words and have rejected his law.
The bellows blow fiercely to burn away the lead with fire, but the refining goes on in vain; the wicked are not purged out.
They are called rejected silver, because the Lord has rejected them.
Why?
His call to walk 'the good way' has met with flat refusal. So God has rejected his people and turned them over to the invading armies. Even Jerusalem will be besieged.
Incense and sacrifice that the Lord doesn't care it when people is walking in wicked way.
The good way is walk on the way of God's words, obey His commands. Live with righteousness and love, caring the poor and fatherless children and women.
No only the Israelite suffer this disaster, but also evil doer will perish for his own sins and schemes.
The Lord discipline us like refine the silver, it is burn through fierce fire, if the wicked are not purged out will be rejected by the Lord.
How?
Let my soul be rest, walk on the good way. God is full of love and mercy, waiting for our repent. Don't let Him disappointed and don't let us be rejected.

To whom can I speak and give warning?
Jeremiah 6:1-15
The Lord gave sign to Israel, "Flee for safety, people of Banjamin! Flee from Jerusalem! Sound the trumpet in Tokoa! Raise the signal over Beth Hakkerem!" and let them know enemy attack them at night, the fortress will be destroyed.
To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to me? Their ears are closed so they cannot hear. The word of the Lord is offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it.
From the least to the greatest, all are greedy for gain; prophets and priests like all practice deceit.
So they will fall among the fallen; they will be brought down when I punish them.
Why?
All God's warnings have fallen on deaf ears.
Banjamin was Jeremiah own tribe, occupying land just north of Jerusalem. Tokoa, Beth Hakkerem are two hills south of the city.
Noon: There was not usual to attack in the heat of the day.
People are fall among the fallen, everyone is greedy for gain. So all of us are sinners.
Many people are dislike the word of the Lord, it is really offensive to them. All of these situation was happened in history. People always couldn't learn from history.
The Lord still hope his people could be saved, but they don't listen to his word and warning.
I find pleasure in God's word, and like to listen the word of God.
How?
Please get rid of my greedy for gain in my heart, don't let me fall among the fallen. I rather stay in the shield of the Lord, don't like to live in the palace of the wicked one.

Fear the Lord for he gives us regular rain and the regular weeks of harvest
Jeremiah 5:10-31
The Lord brought distant nation against house of Israel and Judah, devoured them everything. It is an ancient and enduring nation, a people whose language you do not know, whose speech you do not understand - Babylonian.
Why the lord done all this to us? you will tell them, 'As you have forsaken me and served foreign gods in your own land, so now you will serve foreigners in a land not your land.'
The Lord asked reader if your people have stubborn and rebellious hearts, they turn aside and gone away, what will you do in the end?
Their evil deeds have no limit; they do not plead the case of the fatherless to win it, they do not defend the rights of the poor.
Foolish and senseless people, who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear.
Should you not tremble in my presence?
Let us fear the Lord our God, who gives autumn and spring rains in season, who assures us of the regular weeks of harvest. It is week's harvest, no very long time. He assure us, promises us, never fail.
Why?
God and his prophets alike are disregarded. It is false prophecy the people want to hear. God has no option but to punish.
Justice and care for the helpless have always been God's special concern, enshrined供奉 in the law and upheld by the prophets.
Remember that all of the nature are created and subdue to the Lord, if there is not blessing of the Lord, where is the rain and regular harvest. People may thought these were my effort and talent to gain it. Is the Lord gives us the chance, the health and the talent, wisdom and the good environment.
How?
Tremble in presence of the Lord and fear the Lord for he gives us regular rain in season and assures us of the regular weeks of harvest.

Who deals with honesty and seeks the truth?
Jeremiah 5:1-9
If there is one person who deals with honesty and seeks the truth, the Lord will forgive this city.
Prophet thought, "These are only the poor; they are foolish, for they do not know the way of the Lord, the requirement of their God. So I will go to the leaders and speak to them; surely they know the way of the Lord, but with one accord they too had broken off the yoke and torn off the bonds.
The Lord said "Why should I forgive you? your children have forsaken me and sworn by gods that are not gods. I supplied all their needs, yet they committed adultery and thronged to the houses of prostitutes."
Should I not punish them for this? declares the Lord.
Why?
There is no one who deals with honesty and seeks the truth. The poor they are foolish, for they do not know the requirement of the Lord, the leaders who know the way of the Lord, but they all have broken off the covenant of the Lord.
So there is no reason the Lord won't punish them.
God searches in vain for a vestige of truth and justice among his people The nation is steeped in idolatry; happy with a rotten society; untroubled by conscience. There was a dark and wicked nation.
How?
Am I a man who deals with honesty and seeks the truth in this dark world. Strength me, O Lord, let me be a light in this dark nations, may my life could be useful to show the way to you. Even a little light in the dark is very significant.

My people are fools; they do not know me
Jeremiah 4:19-31
How long must I see the battle standard and hear the sound of the trumpet? The battle and the disaster follows disaster; the whole land lies ruins.
"My people are fools; they do not know me. They are senseless children; they have no understanding. They are skilled in doing evil; they know not how to do good."
I looked at the earth and it was formless and empty; and at the heaves, and their light was gone.
This is what the Lord says:"The whole land will ruined, though I will not destroy it completely. Therefor the earth will mourn and the heavens above grow dark, because I have spoken and will no relent, I have decided and will not turn back."
What are you doing, O devastated one? Why dress yourself in scarlet and put on jewels of gold? Why shade your eyes with paint? your adorn yourself in vain. Your lovers despise you.
A picture of Jerusalem, unrepentant still; still seeking foreign aid.
Why?
Jeremiah is given a preview of the nation's collapse before the Babylonian army which fills him with unspeakable horror.
Knowing the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
For the wicked people of Israel, the Lord has decided to destroy all land so there were mourn and ruined feature. The earth was formless and empty, even at the heaven the light was gone. No hope and living one is existing there.
Even though the Lord did not destroy the land completely. The Lord gave chance to his people come back again to this promised land.
How?
Remember the mercy of the Lord, don't be a fool, know the Lord, my savior is the most important thing in my life. My portion is within Him.

How long will you harbor wicked thoughts?
Jeremiah 4:1-18
If you return to the Lord, if you put your detestable idols out of my sight, and if in a truth, just and righteous way your swear, 'As surely as the Lord lives,' then the nations will be blessed by him an in him they will glory.
Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, circumcise your hearts, or my wrath will break out and burn like fire because of the evil you have done - burn with no one to quench it.
How long will you harbor wicked thoughts?
Your own conduct and actions have brought this upon you. This is your punishment. How bitter it is! How it pierces to the heart!
Destruction and devastation are about to fall on Judah. Jeremiah is fiven a preview of the nation's collapse before the Babylonian army which fills him with unspeakable horror.
Why
All Jewish boy babies were circumcised when they were eight days old, as a sign that they had entered into covenant relationship with God. However, can turn a person into God's child without an accompanying 'circumcision' of heart, mind and will.
Dan the northernmost town in the land; first in the path of the invader.
Return to the Lord, live and speak with truth, just and righteous way is the only way to get the blessing from the Lord, it is the only way to have peace ad glory among the nations.
Circumcise our heart is more realistic than flesh circumcise. The Israelite has failed in circumcision in flesh for human's wicked.
How long will you harbor wicked thought? It is a question from prophet and from the Lord. Why people always are stick-necked, their heart is blocked and their sight are in the dark? Jesus Christ is the light of hope in this world. The decision made is ourselves.
How?
Pray for the people around us and our friends and relatives, let them turn their heart to the Lord. That is the only way to be blessed.

Return to the Lord, acknowledge your guilt, the Lord will heal you
Jeremiah 3:1-25
Faithless Israel is more righteous than unfaithful Judah. Her unfaithful sister Judah did not return to me with all her heart but only in pretense," declares the Lord.
Go, proclaim this message toward the north: "Return, faithless Israel,' declares the Lord, 'I will frown on you no loner, for I am merciful' declares the Lord,' I will not be angry forever. Only acknowledge your guilt- you have rebelled against the Lord your God, you have scattered your favors to foreign gods under every spreading tree, and have not obeyed me,;" declares the Lord.
"Return, faithless people; I will cure you of backsliding." Yes we will come to you, for you are the Lord our God.
Why?
King Josiah's religious reforms, far-reaching though they were, did not change the heart of the nation. The people God says, did not come back to him in sincerity. It was just pretense.
V16, In which the law was kept in the inner sanctuary of the Temple It is no longer needed when God's law is written on every heart.
Even now God will save his people if they really repent. He will bring them back from exile a united nation whose worship is a living reality, not a mere ritual.
Israel and Judah are rebelled to the Lord like prostitute with many men. But if they confess their sin return their heart to the Lord, even they were under exile and distress, the Lord will bring them back. Even now the Lord are waiting for rebellion people turn to Him. For the Lord is merciful, he will not be angry forever.
How?
Proclaim the good message that "return to the Lord, acknowledge your guilt, the Lord will heal your of backsliding." The Lord like the real repent heart not pretense.

You of this generation, consider the word of the Lord
Jeremiah 2:14-37
Israelite brought these disaster on themselves by forsaking the Lord when he led them in the way?
You have as many gods as you have towns, O Judah. Every town has at least one foreign god.
They say to wood,' You are my father' and to stone,' You gave me birth.' They have turned their backs to me and not their faces; yet when they are in trouble, they say,' come and ave us!' Where then are the gods you made for yourselves?
You of this generation, consider the word of the Lord: "Have I been a desert to Israel or a land of great darkness? Why do my people say, 'We are free to roam; we will come to you not more?"
You says,' I am innocent; he is not angry with me.' But I will pass judgement on you because you say,' I have not sinned.' Why do you go about go much, changing your ways?
You will also leave that place with your hands on your head, for the Lord has rejected those you trust; you will not be helped by them.
Why?
They would sooner turn to Egypt and Assyria for help than to God. The vine of Israel has gone wild. Life wife turned common prostitute, the nation has run after foreign gods.
The Lord asked them many questions about their sins, they have denied their sins. consider the words of the Lord, He is speaking to us.
When we turn away from the Lord how can we asked the Lord protects us. Such as the massacre in element school of Newtown, Connecticut, for US has compelled the Lord out the school.
How?
Consider the word of the Lord, meditate His commandments and confess our sin before the Lord. I am a sinner.

Where is the Lord?
Jeremiah 2:1-13
Chapter 2-24 are all prophecies against Judah and Jerusalem. Jeremiah begins with a tender portrayal of 'first love': the time when the nation was faithful to God, when God led them towards their new land, protecting them from harm.
But in Canaan Israel betrayed God. And now God states his case against them. The heathen nations are at least loyal to their idols. No so the people of the living God. Their offence is set before them in a series of vivid pictures. They prefer their own polluted water to God's fresh spring.
Where is the Lord? The priests did not ask, House of Jacob did not ask.
Israelite have committed two sins: 1) they have forsaken me, the spring of living water 2) they have dig their own cisterns, broken cisternsæ°´ç®± that cannot hold water.
Why?
Other nations fear their gods, even false gods, but Israelite forsake the living God. Under the blessing and mercy of the Lord, people forget what they received are cheap and feel it is not important. When we lost we will realize that is very important.
Israel is a chosen nation among the world by God, but they have forsaken the Lord. This is the biggest sin they committed.
How?
Where is the Lord? Do I keep this in my mind? Fear the Lord and remember the grace of the Lord, all of the world and all I have are God's creation, if I am in the Lord, I have everything. God loves me.

Stand up and say to them whatever He commands
Jeremiah 1:9-19
The Lord's hand touched mouth of Jeremiah and said "Now I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant."
God let Jeremiah saw 1)the branch of an almond tree: I am watching to see that God's word is fulfilled. 2) a boiling pot tilting away from the north: From the north disaster will be poured out o all who live in the land. Hebrew for watching sounds like the Hebrew for almond tree. 'shaqed/shoqed'
Because of my people's wickedness 1)in forsaking me, 2)in burning incense to other gods and 3)in worshiping what their hands have made.
The Lord asked Jeremiah Stand up and say to them whatever He command. Do not be terrified by them , or terrify you before them. They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you.
Why?
God shows and explains to the prophet what he is going to do: what Jeremiah must tell the people. They will not want to hear. They will be against Jeremiah from the outset. But God will protect him.
The prophet's ministry is negative and positive, destructive and constructive, about judgment and promise. He will speak to his ow people and to the nations.
In this period of Jewish history trouble always came from the north: first the powerful armies of Assyria; then the Babylonians in Jeremiah's day.
The Lard's angry burst to the Israel for their sins and the Lord compels them out from the promised land and will build ad plant them again with new heart in the promised land. God's promise never changed but His discipline is always their to let them know that He is the Lord.
How?
Do not forget the Lord is God. To be a prophet is a difficult mission but do not afraid of them for God will protect him. God's blessing and protection is over everything. Stand up and say to them whatever the Lord commands.

Woe to me that I dwell among those who hate peace and with deceitful tongues
Psalm 120:1-7
Many psalms, like this one, are full of reference to the sins of the tongue - lies, scandal, slander, hypocrisy. The follower of God may suffer as much from what people say as from what they do.
I call on the Lord in my distress, he answer me. Save me, Lord, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues.
Deceitful tongue will be punished with warrior's arrows and burning coals of the broom fire.
Woe to me that I dwell in Meshech, that I live among the tents of Kedar! Too long I lived among those who hate peace. I am a man of peace; but when I speak, they are for war.
Why?
V5 A poetic way of saying he is living among savages!野人
Surrounding me are deceitful men, their tongue with sins. I dwell among those environment long time to worse to me, for those people hate peace. They like quarrel and gossip, it is easy to war against each other. Even what I said that they hate the peaceful words.

Rules persecute me without cause, but my heart trembles at your word. I rejoice in your promise like one who finds great spoil. Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous laws.
Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.
May 1)my cry come before you, 2)my supplication come before you, 3)my lips overflow with praise, 4)my tongue sing of your word, 5)your hand be ready to help me. According to 1)your word, 2)your promise, 3)your decrees, 4)all your commands, 5)I have chosen your precepts.

The unfolding of your words gives light
Psalm 119:121-144
I am your servant; give me discernment that I may understand your statutes.
I love your commands more than gold than pure gold, and because I consider all your precepts right, I hate every wrong path.
Your statutes are wonderful; therefore I obey them. The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.
Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me.
Streams of tears flow from my eyes for your law is not obeyed.
Your statutes are forever right; they are fully trustworthy; give me understanding that I may live.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
Psalm 119:89-120
I will ponder your statutes.
I meditate on your law all day long. Your commands make me 1) wiser than my enemies, I have 2)more insight than all my teachers and 3)more understanding than the elders.
To all perfection I see a limit; but your commands are boundless.
I gain understanding from your precepts; therefor I hate every wrong path.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
Your statutes are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart.
You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.
All the wicked of the earth you discard like dross; therefore I love your statutes. and trembles in fear of you.
Why?
Ponder and meditate God's word gives us many benefits save my life, make me wiser, more insight and understanding than others- my teacher and elders, enemies.
The word of the Lord has the power to lead us from the snare of the wicked one have set.
Words of the Lord are a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. Even it is a lamp, but in the darkness a lamp is very bright and enough to guide the way to me.
Psalmist like the words of the Lord as his refuge and his shield, it is my also. Me and my family believe in the words of God forever.
The Lord is righteousness, explained which on is right and wrong, He will judge the wicked of the earth by His words.
How?
Meditate and ponder words of the Lord, put my hope in God's word, not on the people.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.

put my hope in your word
Psalm 119:49-88
Your promise preserves my life.
Though the wicked bind me with ropes, I will not forget your law.
Do good to your servant according to your word, O Lord. Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I believe in your commands. Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word.
Though the arrogant have seared me with lies, I keep your precepts with all my heart.
May those who fear you rejoice when they see me, for I have put my hope in your word.
My soul faints with longing for your salvation, but I have put my hope in your word.
He uses then different words to describe it : God's law, his testimonies(instruction), precepts, status, commandments, ordinances)decrees), word, ways(paths), promises and judgments(rules).
In the psalm we see how eagerly and persistently he applies himself to the task of understanding the law. He learns it by heart. He longs for more. Nothing is allowed to deflect him from it.
The psalm's focus on the truly happy life as one deep-rooted in reverence for God connects it with other's wisdom' psalms.
Why?
Do good and right witness to honor the Lord when people sees me, they will know that my hope in God's word and Christian sees rejoice.
Though other astray or they bind me with rope, I still obey words of God, the avenge is belong to the Lord, the Lord will do penalty to wick one.

Do not let me be put to shame
Psalm 19:1-48
Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord. Blessed are they who keep his status and seek him with all their heart.
Fast from the busy-- 1)Hidden our word in my heart 2) rejoice in following your statutes, 3) with my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth 4) Meditate on your precepts and consider your ways.
Preserve my life according to your word. Preserve my life in your righteousness.
I have set my heart o your laws. I have put my hope in your laws I have sought our your precepts.
Pray to the Lord, give me understanding and I will keep your law and obey it with all my heart.
Why?
There are 22 eight-verse sections. Each section begin with a successive letter of the Hebrew alphabet, and each verse within the section begins with the same letter.
Within this stylized pattern the psalmist makes a series of individual, though not isolated or disconnected, statements about the 'law' and the individual-interspersed with frequent prayers.
Here give us the way how to read the word of the Lord, study and pray to the Lord.
How?
Meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. O Load, give me understanding and I will keep your law, do not let me be put to shame.(v31)

It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man
Psalm 118-1:29
His love endures forever!
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the lord than to trust in princes. man's help, prince's power.
In my anguish I cried to the Lord he answered by setting me free. I was pushed back an about to fall but the Lord helped me.
The Lord is with me; he is my helper. What can man do to me?
The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.
The Lord has chastened me severely, but he has not given me over to death.
The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone.
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
You are my God, and I will give you thanks; I will exalt you, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Victory hymn. The hymn was sung in procession by king, priest and people.
As they approach the Temple, the king recalls the victory won with God's help.
The processing, carrying branches, moves from the gateway to the altar.
Why?
The relationship between me and Lord: He is my God, my strength,my song and my salvation, my helper.
The Lord disciplines me but he doesn't give me over to death. He helps me grow up in my life.
Every day is the Lord made, let us rejoice and be grad for he is good. I am glad for the Lord is my God, his love endures forever, he sets me free.
The stone: The despised nation of Israel has become the great power. By Jesus's day Israel, in turn, had forfeited喪失 their privileged position.
How?
The Lord is my helper. What can man do to me? If I fear the Lord, walking on his way. I will give thanks to God, exalt his name, more important to me is trust in the Lord.

Praise the Lord an extol his name
Psalm 117:1-2
Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples.
For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.
Praise the Lord.
Who should praise the Lord ? all nations and all peoples.
Why we should extol his? For the great of his love toward us and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.
Why?
Some do not know the Lord so they do not praise the Lord and worship Him.
The psalmist calls all nations to praise the Lord. In his love ad constant care for Israel he shows his purpose for every nation(Romans 15:11). “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles; let all the peoples extol him.”
How?
Praise the Lord, for the love toward me and his faithfulness endure forever.

Be at rest once more
Psalm 116:1-19
The Lord protects the simplehearted ; when I was in great need, he saved me.
Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.
The Lord have delivered my soul from death, that I may walk before the Lord in the land of the living. I believed; therefore(even when) I said, "I am greatly afflicted."
How can I repay the Lord for all his goodness to me?
I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord. I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people.
I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the Lord.
Precious in the sight of the lord is the death of his saints.
I am your servant, the son of your faithful son.
Why?
Be at rest once more, even when I am greatly afflicted, because I believe the Lord.
Every saint's life is precious in the sight of the Lord, how great is my Lord.
To repay the Lord for all his goodness to me, I will lift up the cup of salvation, proclaim his salvation, I will call on name of the Lord, exalt the name of the Lord in the presence of all his people. Publicly exalt the name of the Lord.
Simple hearted people is the people with faith in Lord and without wicked mind. Child or folly.
Saved from death in answer to prayer, the psalmist comes to make his thank-offering in the Temple. The memory of that terrible time when the grave 'closed in' on him, with fear and danger all around, is vividly present as he pours out his heart in gratitude to God.
How?
Present my thanks to the Lord, praise the Lord in all of my life. My life is in His hands. How can I repay his goodness to me? I love God with all my heart, all my mind and all my strength. Be at rest whenever I meet.

He is our help and shield
Psalm 115:1-18
Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him. Why do Nations say " Where is their God?" Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them- the idols.
Trust in the Lord-- he is our help and shield.
The heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth he has given to man.
He will bless those who fear the Lord- small and great alike.
It is not the dead who praise the Lord, those who go down to silence; it is we who extol the Lord, both now and forevermore.
Why?
The dead who cannot praise the Lord, includes who does not know the Lord is like the dead man.
The heavens belongs to the Lord, man can not get there except through the Lord or Jesus. But the earth he has given to man, man needs to manage this earth.
This psalm gives an indication of the way may psalms must have been sung - with a single voice leading and the congregation joining in the response. A powerful contract is drawn between God almighty, loving, faithful - and the lifeless impotent idols of 'the nations'
The Lord will bless those who fear him- small and great alike, no matter what am I, the situation or the position or the rich or poor.
How?
Extol the Lord, from now to forevermore. Praise the Lord from my heart and my mind. He is my help and my shield!

Tremble at the presence of the Lord
Psalm 114:1-8
The Lord brought Israel out of Egypt, foreign tongue, Judah became God's sanctuary, Israel became his dominion.
The sea looked God fled, the Jordan turned back, tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.
The God turned the rock into the pool, the hard rock into the spring of water.
Psalmist praised God's leading Israel and his mighty hands.
Why?
This is the festival which marks the escape from Egypt at the exodus. The people remember how God freed them when they were slaves and made them his own people.
Is the Lord who frees his people from the slave to the holy place.
The Lord turned the impossible to the possible. Nothing is impossible to the Lord, Jehovah my God.
How?
Trust in Thee, in Him there is no dark, in Him there is nothing difficult. He is my savior, my redeemer. Tremble before the Lord.

He sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look the earth
Psalm 113:1-9
From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.
The Lord is exalted over all the nations, his glory above the heavens. Who is like the Lord our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, stoops down弯腰 to look the earth.
He raise the poor from the dust and lefts the needy from the ash heapåžƒåœ¾å †; he seats them with princes, with the princes of their people.
He settles the barren woman in her home as a happy mother of children.
Praise the Lord.
Praise the for his caring to the needy and the poor, left them with prince and settle the barren woman has children.
Who is like the Lord our God.
Why?
God is above and beyond his creation, yet he is infinitely aware of human misery. His love reaches to 'the dust', to lift up the poor and needy.
Feeling the heartache of the childless wife, God brings her joy.- respect instead of disgrace.
How?
Praise the Lord for He is feeling our needy and lift up the poor, He is compassionate to all needy.

Good will come to him who is fears the Lord and generous
Psalm 112:1-10
Blessed is the man 1)who fears the Lord, 2)who finds great delight in his commands.
Good will come to him 3)who is generous and lends freely.
Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man. Surely righteous man will be remembered forever.
He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is secure, he will have no fear; in the end he will look in triumph on his foes.
The wicked man will see and be vexed, he will gnash his teeth and waste away; the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.
Why?
Righteous man is he who fears the Lord and find great delight in his commands.
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who finds great delight in God's commands, and who is generous and lends freely.
The wicked man will see and be vexed and the longing of the wicked will come to nothing. I don't have to anger about the wicked man, the Lord is justice and he has sovereignty over the world.
Happy are those who obey God and care for others. Their reward is sure. They can withstand life's knocks, secure and unafraid.
How?
