Isaiah 27:1-13
In that day, the Lord will punish with his sword. In that day "Sing about a fruitful vineyard: I, the Lord, watch over it; I water it continually. I guard it day and night so that no one may harm it.
Be warfare and exile you contend with her - with his fierce blast he drives her out, as on a day the east wind blows. By this, then will Jacob's guilt be atoned for, and this will be the full fruit of the removal of his sin: When he makes all the altar stones to be like limestone(石灰石) crushed to pieces, no Asherah poles or incense altars will be left standing.
For this is a people without understanding; so their Maker has no compassion on them, and their Creator shows them no favor.
The song of the vineyard in 27:2 contrasts with chapter 5. The day will come when God's people for his people will be fulfilled. The present punishment is intended as a corrective. The exile will end. In the final harvest all God's people will be brought home.
Why?
IN that day, the Lord will punish with his sword to clean all his vineyard and let warfare and exile those who contended with her.
Jacob's guile be atoned for, and no Asherah pole or incense altars will be left standing. God's atonement are fulfilled.
To the people without understanding, their Maker has no compassion on them. It is not the fault of the Lord but the sinner's sins make them downfall.
God is righteousness and with full of mercy. In that day everyone have to face the judgment of Lord.
How?
Waiting for the Lord punish with his sword to his enemy and those who hramed his people.
