Psalm 120:1-9, 122:1-9
I call on the Lord in my distress, and he answers me. Save me, O Lord, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues.
Too long have I lived among those who hate peace. I am a man of peace; but when I speak, they are for war.
Jerusalem is built like a city that is closely compacted together.
There stand the thrones for judgment, the thrones of the house of David.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure.
For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, “Peace be within you.”
For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your prosperity.
Hebrew title, 'by David'. The pilgrim prays for the peace of the city, the center of worship and seat of government for the whole nation.
V8 refers to his fellow-countrymen living in the city.
Why?
Jerusalem is built like a city, where stand the thrones for judgment, the thrones of the house of David.
For the sake of my family and friends, may peace be within you, for the sake of the house of the Lord, I will seek your prosperity. We are Christians we are search for your prosperity and peace among my friends and my family.
How?
To be a real son of God to honor name of the Lord. May God lead my way and my heart with peace and love.
