1 peter 1:1-12
To those who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by his blood.
He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
Through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, through now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kings of trials. These have come so that your faith of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire - may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven.
Even in times of suffering, there is so much to gladden the heart and to thank God for: his fight of new life; the resurrection of Jesus which give us ‘living hope’; a legacy we will one day possess, which is ‘kept safe’ for us by God himself. Trials have a purpose: The dark days are short in comparison with the joy to come.
The prophets spoke of this gift of salvation, predicting Christ’s suffering and glory.
Why?
Living hope: it is gift from the Lord through Jesus’s resurrection.
Rejoice through grief, trials, so that our faith of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire. Result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
The secret of living hope and gospel is revealed to us by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven.
How?
Give praise to the Lord for the salvation and living hope and faith through Jesus Christ..
