1 Samuel 8:10-22
Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking him for a king.
But the people refused to listen to Samuel. “No!” they said. “We want a king over us. Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.”
When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the Lord. The Lord answered, “Listen to them and give them a king.”
Then Samuel said to the Israelites, “Everyone go back to your own town.”
Why?
Even the Lord knew his people did not respect Him and wanted a man to be their king, the same as this world, The Lord accepted them but asked Samuel to follow their request. For the Lord has his way and his chosen man.
The Lord warned them what would happen and that there is a burden to them if they had a king over them, But most people didn't listen.
Usually, we will make a decision and not ask the Lord, if it pleases the Lord, our God will bless us, if it is not good to us the Lord will help us, but we have to suffer much difficulty and trouble. If before the action we pray to the Lord and listen to the answer of the Lord we may escape from suffering and trouble.
How?
Give praise to the Lord, God is good and we have to be humble under the Lord!
