Psalm 29:1-11
Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.
The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever. The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.
Why?
"Splendor of His holiness" refers to the majestic beauty and radiant purity of God's character, often described as awe-inspiring and worthy of worship. It emphasizes God's perfect moral character, His separateness from sin, and the divine glory that emanates from Him. This phrase, frequently found in Psalms, calls for believers to approach God with reverence and awe, recognizing His holiness as the foundation of worship.
The Lord blesses his people with peace, so I have gotten this gift in my life.
The Lord is the true God, and a living God forever!
How?
We should worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.
