Daniel 9:1-19
Daniel sincerely turned to the Lord God and pleased with him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes. When he read the scriptures, according to the word of the Lord given to Jeremiah, that desolation of Jerusalem would last 70 years.
Daniel prayed to the Lord and confessed that the men of Judah and people of Jerusalem and all Israel, both near and far, in all the countries have sinned against the Lord, covered with shame because has transgressed God's law and turned away, refusing to obey the words of the Lord.
Daniel pleased the Lord see the desolation of the city that bears your Name. We do not requests of you because of we are right, but because of your great mercy. Because your city and your people bear your Name!
The Lord is righteous, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with all who love him and obey his command.
The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him.
Why?
Daniel pleads with God for the return of his people to their homeland. He is completely one with his people, sharing the blame for sin, and his request rests solely on God's mercy.
Daniel prayed for his people and his country, for he is one of them. Judah and Israelite people cover with shame, he is one of them. He thought he has the responsibility to pray for his people.
All of us are sinner, no one is righteous, we pray to the Lord because our God is merciful and forgiving.
How?
I should please to the Lord for my country and my people either for they are sinned against the Lord, even they do not know the Lord.

Vision concerns the distant future
Daniel 8:15-27
This vision will happen later in the time of wrath. God's messenger-angel Gabriel explained to Daniel.
A stern-faced king, a master of intrigue, will arise. He will become very strong, but not by his own power. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power.
The vision of the evenings and mornings that has been given you is true, but seal up the vision, for it concerns the distant future.
Daniel was exhausted and lay ill for several days. He was appalled by the vision; it was beyond understanding.
Why?
This is the first time God' messenger-angel is name in the Bible. It was Gabriel who appeared to Zechariah, father of John, and again to Mary before the birth of Jesus.
V17 This usually refers to the winding up of history, and God's final judgment. But verse 26 relates the vision to the distant future, and 19 to the period when the suffering will be over.
The Bible writers often seem to step clear of time, and view contemporary and future events as one aspect of the total, final events of 'the end'.
Final day is the time of God's wrath.
Daniel saw the vision will happen in near future and distant future.
To be a servant understanding this vision became a burden and harsh worrier. The Lord let Daniel wrote these to let us know that before the final day, Christian will suffering some persecutions. And the world will have more evil doers and full of intrigue.
How?
Pray to the Lord, give us the faith and strength to tell others know the Lord is sovereign Lord, only Jesus Christ is our savior.

The words of the Bible are come true
Daniel 8:1-14
Daniel saw vision of ram and goat in the third of King Belshazzar's reign.
Daniel heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to him, "How long will it take for the vision to be fulfilled - the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, the rebellion that causes the daily desolation, and the surrender of the sanctuary and of the host that will be trampled underfoot?" He said to Daniel, "It will take 2,300 evenings and mornings; then the sanctuary will be reconsecrated."
Two-horned ram which symbolizes Medo-Persia will be superseded by the swift-footed goat- Alexander's Greek Empire. The four horns are the kingdoms into which his empire was divided. The little horn, in this chapter, refers to Antiochus IV, who rules Syria 175-164BC. Which resulted in the Jewish Maccabern revolt. 1 Maccabee 1-6 recounts this period of Jewish history.
2300 days: Antiochu first meddled in Jewish affairs in 171; he died in 164BC.
Why?
Daniel saw similar vision about the future of the two kingdoms, and one more king will rebel Jewish and sanctuary for seven years.
These prophecy are come true after Daniel, which reminds us that all the words of Bible or the words of God will come true.
How?
Have faith in the Lord and Jesus Christ. He is the sovereign Lord. God permitted some rebellion in this world until the vision are fulfilled, so we Christian may learn from it and grow up in our spiritual life.

Everything are good to us - Christians
Daniel 7:15-28
Daniel was troubled in spirit, and the visions that passed through his mind disturbed him.
Daniel want to know the meaning if all this, so he approached one of those standing there.
The ten horns are the kings who will come from this kingdom, the 4th kingdom. After them another king will arise, different from the earlier ones; he will subdue three kings. He will speak against the Most High and oppress his saints and try to change the set times and the laws. The saint will be handed over to him for a time, times and half a time.
But the court will sit, and his power will be taken away and completely destroyed forever.
Daniel was deeply troubled by these, his face turned pale but kept the matter to himself.
Why?
Opposing God's people in different guises throughout history is the 'little horn', until God finally removes its power. It is from this chapter that Revelation 13 draw its imagery.
The saint will have trouble for 2.5 year or 3.5 years, a year, two years an half a year.
Now the time is setting from the date of Jesus birth.
This little horn is anti-Christ.
Daniel was terrified and his face turned pale, for he was amazing these vision, beyond his mind can image. And he may worry the war against saints.
Thanks God, many things happen, but the God controls all of these. The Lord allowed a limited time for the evil one, let Christian has more faith and let us getting better and stronger.
The Lord let Daniel know these vision and wrote it down, let us understand what will happen and how are face it in mind and faith.
How?
Be aware all of these world will be passes away, the Most high, sovereign Lord, His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom. All of the testimony are good to us, Jesus followers. In perspective of the Lord is good, but for the perspective of
us may be bad thing.

Why I am caring about the troubles in this world?
Daniel 7:1-14
Daniel dreamed four beasts in the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon.
1st one is looked like a lion with two wings of an eagle. The heart of human was given.
2nd one is looked like a bear, and had three ribs in its mouth. It was told, 'Get up and eat your fill of flesh.'
3rd one is looked like a leopard, it back has four wings like those of a bird This beast had four heads, and it was given authority to rule.
4th beast is terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large iron teeth, it had ten horns. A little horn came up among them; three of the first horns were rooted before it. This horn had eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth that spoke boastfully.
The image of the Lord:
Thrones were set in place and the Ancient of Days took his seat.
His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze. A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousand upon thousands attended him; then thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated and the books were opened.
The boastful words the horn was speaking beast was slain and its body destroyed and thrown into the blazing fire. Other beasts had been stripped of their authority but were allowed to live for a period of time.
A son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory an sovereign power. His dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. This is the kingdom founded by Jesus Christ.
Why?
First image vision is pictorial representation of history. Again there are four successive empires, and then the kingdom of God is established.
The winged lion is Babylon.
The Bear is Greek Empire of Alexander the Great, on his death divided among his four generals. Seleucus founded a dynasty in Syria. Ptolemy founded a dynasty in Egypt. The other two kingdoms were Greece and Asia Minor.
The ten horns equate with the ten toes of the image in gold man.
God's judgement of the world empires.
The Lord let Daniel review the future of Babylon and the following kingdoms.
The Lord strip the authority of those beasts but allowed them to live for a period of time. It is the mercy of God, and they can't do any evil things.
Ancient of Days: one who was ancient of days did sit on the throne.
How?
All of these world will be passed away, only the kingdom of Jesus Christ will never be destroy, his dominion endures forever. He is the living God!
I am a member in God's kingdom, we are enjoying in his glory and peace through Jesus Christ. Why I am caring to be troubled by this world? Look beyond this word. Dear Lord please give me more visions of heaven.

Reverence the God of Daniel, my God also
Daniel 6:19-28
King got up at the first light of dawn, and came to near den, he called to Daniel in a anguished voice, " Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?"
Daniel answered, " My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions, They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, O king."
The king was overjoyed and gave order to lift Daniel out of the den, And commanded the men who had falsely accused Daniel were brought in and thrown into the lion's den, along with their wives and children. Before they reached the floor of the den, the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones.
The king Darius issue a decree to all the peoples, nation and men of every language throughout the land to reverence the God of Daniel.
Daniel was as safe from harm in the lion-pit as his friends had been in the furnace.
Why?
Daniel was found innocent in the God and have not ever done any wrong before the king. He reverenced the God and obeyed his commends.
Daniel was rescued from lion by the Lord, let the king knows that his God is a living God and will rescue his people. Good witness in that time.
To be a king has something can not do it, but there is nothing God cannot, God is mighty Gog over all in the earth and heaven. He is love and righteousness.
How?
Reverence the Lord, He is the God of Daniel, and He is my God. Under the blessing of the Lord, prosper and peace with me.

Daniel 6:1-18
Daniel were one of three administrators over 120 satraps to rule throughout the kingdom. Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.
The administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charge against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.
They said "We will never find any basis of charges against this man Daniel unless it has something to do with the law of his God."
The king likes Daniel but the other administrator envy and jealous Daniel for his distinguish conducts.
Why?
All his life Daniel has been a man of God. He is now in his eighties, and his enemies still cannot fault him. They can only attack him through his religion. Daniel could have stopped praying for a month, or more ready to compromise now than he was as a boy. So his enemies have him. The king's hands are ties by his own decree, but God's hand is not.
Daniel was working in government, he did so distinguished himself, he had not any grounds could be found for charge against him. Daniel was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.
Daniel respected the king, but he honored the Lord higher than the king.
How?
Learning the faith to God and his trustworthy to his service, he was an example in my life. I hope I could do as Daniel.
