Daniel 7:1-14
Daniel dreamed four beasts in the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon.
1st one is looked like a lion with two wings of an eagle. The heart of human was given.
2nd one is looked like a bear, and had three ribs in its mouth. It was told, 'Get up and eat your fill of flesh.'
3rd one is looked like a leopard, it back has four wings like those of a bird This beast had four heads, and it was given authority to rule.
4th beast is terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large iron teeth, it had ten horns. A little horn came up among them; three of the first horns were rooted before it. This horn had eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth that spoke boastfully.
The image of the Lord:
Thrones were set in place and the Ancient of Days took his seat.
His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze. A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousand upon thousands attended him; then thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated and the books were opened.
The boastful words the horn was speaking beast was slain and its body destroyed and thrown into the blazing fire. Other beasts had been stripped of their authority but were allowed to live for a period of time.
A son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory an sovereign power. His dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. This is the kingdom founded by Jesus Christ.
Why?
First image vision is pictorial representation of history. Again there are four successive empires, and then the kingdom of God is established.
The winged lion is Babylon.
The Bear is Greek Empire of Alexander the Great, on his death divided among his four generals. Seleucus founded a dynasty in Syria. Ptolemy founded a dynasty in Egypt. The other two kingdoms were Greece and Asia Minor.
The ten horns equate with the ten toes of the image in gold man.
God's judgement of the world empires.
The Lord let Daniel review the future of Babylon and the following kingdoms.
The Lord strip the authority of those beasts but allowed them to live for a period of time. It is the mercy of God, and they can't do any evil things.
Ancient of Days: one who was ancient of days did sit on the throne.
How?
All of these world will be passed away, only the kingdom of Jesus Christ will never be destroy, his dominion endures forever. He is the living God!
I am a member in God's kingdom, we are enjoying in his glory and peace through Jesus Christ. Why I am caring to be troubled by this world? Look beyond this word. Dear Lord please give me more visions of heaven.
