Ephesians 5:21-33
Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wife, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church
Husband loves wife as Christ loved the church without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. - Honest and sincerely.
A man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. This is a profound mystery - but Paul was talking about Christ and the church.
Each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
There is no verb in verse 22 in Greek: first the wife and then the husband is used to illustrate Paul's instruction in verse 21. So the Christian wife gives her husband complete respect and loyalty; the Christian husband cares for his wife with unselfish, undemanding love. Each depends on the other, and both model themselves on Christ.
Why?
'Submit yourselves to one another.' Paul says, speaking to all his readers, men and women alike.
Submit is complete obey and respect to the head. To be a husband must love his wife without selfish and caring his wife.
How?
Love my wife first caring her mind and her joy, then keep honest to my wife. For I am follow Christ loved church with stain or wrinkle or other blemish.
I have to confess that I was too selfish in past a few years to treat my wife. Please forgive me, Dear Lord.
