Ephesians 2:1-10
All of us were dead in our transgressions and sins. in which we used to live when we followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions.
For it is by grace we have been saved, through faith- and this not from ourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Why?
Because of our disobedience and sin, we were 'spiritually dead', cut off from God. But in and through Christ God has brought us to life again.
He has made us part of his new creation. We are saved to live as God wants, here in this world - and to reign with Christ in the spiritual realm.
Ruler of the spiritual powers: Satan, whose rebellious spirit is actively at work in the world of human beings.
We could be saved is through Christ and faith, both are the gift of God, not by our works, so no one can boast for it. We are God's workmanship, His new creatures to live in Christ.
How?
All of us, include me is a sinner, it is the grace of God saved me. No boast of anything but live with thanks and humble myself to live for the Lord.
