Ephesians 1:1-14
Paul wrote as a prisoner (probably under house arrest in Rome in the early 60) link this letter with Philippians, Colossians and Philemon.
It seems likely that Ephesians began as a 'circular', written to a group of churches in what is now western Turkey- of which Ephesus itself was the most important.
Because of its clear that the gentile Christians predominated, and that they tended to look down on their Jewish fellow Christians. Hence he stress in this letter on God's glorious plan to bring people of every nation and background together in Christ.
In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will- to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
In accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
You were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession - to the praise of his glory.
Why?
All of this are God's love and grace lavished on us.
Everyone who believed in Him be marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit. Guarantee that we are with Him forever.
We has this grace not for our righteousness but for his love and for his forgiveness.
lavished, abundant give us his love, not only accepted but let us understanding and with wisdom.
How?
I have nothing can boast, praise to be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. May the name of the Lord be exalted.
I have to learn more and more to understand the truth, let others get benefit of Christ through me.
