1 Chronicles 26:1-31
The Gatekeepers lists capable men, Meshelmiah: 7 sons and relatives, 18 in all. Obed-Edom had 8 sons and descendants , 62 in all. Hosah had 4 sons and relatives were 13 in all. Total were 93 in all.
Six Levites a day on the east, four a day on the north, four a day on the south and two at a a time at the strorehouse, four at the road and two at the court. 14 men a day and 8 men a time at other places.
A number of Levites were to act as doorkeepers, taking turns on guard outside the Temple and storehouse. Presumably they were there to keep order. They also received gifts.
Tresures, clerks and magistrates are appointed to look after the Temple finances and legal affairs and to keep the records.
Why?
All service in God's Temple was a high honour - including that of these 'gate-keepers'
The Temple treasuries - gifts and taxes from the people, and the spoils of war were vast.
Samuel, Saul, Abner and Job predate the Temple, so presumably these gifts were for the earlier Tent.
How?
All service in God's home is a high honour.

Leaders in inspired prophecy
1 Chronicles 25:1-31
The ministry of prophecying, accompanied by harps, lyres and cymbals.
Asaph, Heman and Jeduthun who prophesied under the king's supervision.
All these men were under the supervision of their fathers for the music of the temple of the Lord, with instruments.
Along with their relatives - all of them trained and skilled in music for the Lord - they were numbered 288. Young and old alike, teacher as well as student, cast lots for their duties.
There were 24 worship groups, each group has 12 members.
Why?
Music, both instrumental and vocal, was important in Jewish worship, as it was in social life generally. The Temple musicians were 'leaders in inspired prophecy', proclaiming God's message.
Asaph, Heman and Jeduthun were amongst the famous: they are named in the Psalms. But status does not come into the Temple service. Teacher and pupil alike share an equal place.
David, himself a skilled musician, must have taken special delight in this part of the arrangements, which he supervised personally.
To be a worship member is an important ministry before the Lord, it works as leaders in inspired prophecy.
Casts for their duties with the same position in worship God.
Those who are trained and skilled in music for the Lord. So we have to prepared ourseves to serve the Lord in worship music.
How?
It is a honor and holy service in church to lead congregation worshipping the Lord.

All servants of the Lord are same
1 Chronicles 24:20-31
Theses were the Levites, according to their families. They also cast lots, just as their brothers the descendants of Aaron did, in the presence of King David and of Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of families of the priests and of the Levites.
The families of the oldest brother were treated the same as those of the youngest.
Why?
Serve the Lord in the same position, same way and same treatment. No matter what is the families and age.
How?
Christians are the same before the Lord, serve the Lord is with the heart, no relate to any physical condition.

Ministering order of descendant of Aaron
1 Chronicles 24:1-19
The sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. But Nadab and Abihu died before their father did, and they had no sons; so Eleazar and Ithamar served as the priests.
With the help of Zadok a descendant of Eleazar and Ahimelech a descendant of Ithamar, David separated them into divisions for their appointed order of ministering. A large number of leaders were found among Eleazar's descendants than among Ithamar's.
There were 24 appointed order of ministering when they entered the temple of the Lord.
Twenty-four groups of priests all tracing their family lines back to Moses' brother Aaron, the first high priest - were to be in charge of the Temple sacrifices, each serving for two weeks a year, The order was decided by lot.
Why?
The fact that Eli's family was descended from Ithamar partly accounts for the reduced numbers. Because of the sins of Eli's sons, many of their descendants met a violent death.
Decided by lot an acceptable method to make decision.
How?
Serve the Lord has the regulation and separated schedule, share these serves with other groups. Let the service has good quality and won't be a heavy burden.

Serve the Lord from 20 years old
1 Chronicles 23:14-32
Moses is son of Amram, Amram is son of Kohath.
The descendants of Levi, the workers twenty years old or more who served in the temple of the Lord.
The Levites no longer need to carry the tabernacle or any of the articles used in its service. According to the last instructions of David. The duty of the Levites was to help Aaron's descendants in their service of the temples, the side rooms, the purification of all sacred things and the performance of other duties at the house of God. And so the Levites carried out their responsibilities for the Tent of Meeting, for the Holy Place and under their brothers the descendants of Aaron, for the service of the temple of the Lord.
From the earliest days of desert-wandering, the job of the Levites had been the care and transport of the Tabernacle. They had also served the priests - in later times at the many shrines scattered throughout the land. Now the Ark was to have a permanent home, and worship was to be centralized in the Temple at Jerusalem. So David allocates new duties to the Levites: the care-taking and maintenance of the Temple; appointments as magistrates, janitors, musicians and choristers; and general assistance of the priests.
Thirty was the age at which a Levite began his work, David changed this to 20, once the Temple was completed.
Why?
David was walking with the Lord and be loved on in present of the Lord, so he set last service instruction of Levites.
How?
Serve the Lord may more younger from 20 years old.

Serve the Lord in any position and honor His Holy name
1 Chronicle 23:1-13
David gathered together all the leaders of Israel, as well as the priests and Levites. The Levites thirty years old or more were counted, and the total number of men was thirty-eight thousand.
24000(63%) be the supervise the work of the temple of the Lord.
6000(16%) be officials and judges.
4000(10.5%) be gatekeepers
4000(10.5%) of it are to praise the Lord with the musical instruments.
The Chronicler makes no mention of the struggle over the succession recorded in 1 King 1. The focus right through these chapters is the Temple and the worship of God.
The next five chapter record David's organization of the nation's religious and civil administration.
V6-24 provides check-list of these who belong to the tribe of Levi and are therefore qualified to enter God's service.
Why?
Serve the Lord at Temple is main mission of Levi, David divided them as four groups, mainly to the work of the temple of the Lord, next is the official and judges, others are security and praise team.
How?
No matter what position I am doing is part of roles in God's house. The most important is how to honor the Lord.

Discretion and understanding
1 Chronicle 22:1-18
May the Lord give you discretion and understanding when he puts you in command over Israel,so that you may keep the law of the Lord your God.
If you are careful to observe the decrees and laws that the Lord gave Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged. David said to Solomon.
David said to all the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon" God has handed you rest on every side. For he has handed the inhabitants of the land over to me, and the land is subject to the Lord and to his people. Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the Lord your God. Begin to build the sanctuary of the Lord God.
It probably belongs to the time of Solomon's co-regency with his father, which may have lasted some years, David never stopped longing to build God a house fit for him.
He accepted the set-back of God's refusal and turned all his energy and enthusiasm to the things he could do: deciding the plan; amassing materials; deciding the plan.
Why?
You have shed much blood: This does not imply that Solomon was morally better than David, or that David's wars were not justified. These very wars bought Solomon's reign of peace in a strong kingdom, and with it the freedom for king and nation to concentrate at last on the great task of building God's temple.
David reminded his son Solomon many times to observe the decrees and laws of God, but alas he turned to the gods in last of his life.
David really understood his kingdom is come from the gift of the Lord, it is the blessing of the Lord, so he devoted his all to prepare any materials to build the house to the Lord.
How?
Thank the Lord's mercy and love, with the Lord I can do nothing. May I have discretion and understanding to keep the keep the laws of the Lord, my God.
