Mark 7:24-8:10
For it is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to the dogs. "Lord," she replied, "even the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs" . Then he told her, "For such a reply, you may go; the demon has left your daughter."
People were overwhelmed with amazement. "He has done everything well," they said, "He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak."
Jesus feeds the 4000 people. I have compassion for these people, they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat.
Jesus is in Gentile territory: Mark's account moves from the idea of clean and unclean foods to that of 'clean and unclean people (non-Jews). God's kingdom is inclusive(包容的.)
The man's speech defect was the result of his deafness, as is often the case. Saliva was popularly thought to have healing power: Jesus treats the man in the way his contemporaries expect.
Why?
Jesus tested the gentile woman, but she has faith to Jesus, so the kingdom of God is inclusive to them. Jesus is the savior to all who believe in Him. No limited to Jew but to all people.
Jesus has done everything well. For Jesus has compassion to people who follow him and the needed people.
Jesus makes the deaf hear and the mute speak, only Jesus comes from heaven can do it.
Not only overwhelmed with amazement but turn to Jesus, for He is Son of the Lord!
How?
Come to Jesus, for Jesus loves me and do not be afraid, Jesus know my pain and my sorrow, Jesus gives me peace and joy.

It is what comes out of a person that defiles them
Mark 7:1-23
You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!
Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.
Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them.
What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of person's heart, that evil thoughts come - sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person.
Mark adds an explanatory not for non-Jewish readers. The washing rituals had to do with religious 'cleanness', not simply hygiene or table manners. But it is possible for the observance of 'tradition' to empty God's plain command of all meaning. Jesus points out that humanity's real problem is not dirty hands but the deep-down pollution of washing can clean. The unclean food is as much part of Jewish thinking that even the disciples need further explanation.
Why?
Observe humans traditions sometime missed the real meaning of the commands of God.
Each church has their own tradition because of church are made by men. But be careful do not let tradition makes the truth missing.
Outside dirty can not defile others, but what comes out of a person that defiles others. Such as thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, greed, malice...etc.
How?
Be careful keep our heart with clean mind and soul! Don't let tradition defile out heart!

Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid
Mark 6:45-56
Jesus walks on the water!
Jesus made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd. After leaving them, he went up on a mountainside to pray.
When they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, because they all saw him and were terrified.
Jesus spoke to them,"Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."
They were completely amazed, for they had not understood about the loaves; their hearts were hardened.
It was some time between 3AM and 6 AM. Again it is the disciples need that calls out Jesus' love. And again he demonstrates his supreme power over creation: he is Lord of wind and water.
Why?
Jesus always keep good relationship with the Lord, so he chose leave the crowd and went up on a mountainside to pray.
Jesus amazing appearance let people afraid, thought he was a ghost, but it shows he is the Son of God, Jesus is not general man. Jesus is a man and who is the God either.
Jesus knew that it is time his disciples need him to save them, to calm down the wind.
Jesus come to save us, so don't be afraid, Take courage!
When people's heart were hardened, they do not understand what Jesus is doing.
How?
Some time keep alone to pray to the Lord and take courage for Jesus is with me!

Jesus meets their hunger for teaching and for food.
Mark 6:30-44
Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.
You give them something to eat. They said to him, "That would take more than half a year's wages! Are we to go and spend that much o bread and give it to them to eat?" "How many loaves do you have?" he asked. When they found out, they said,"Five and two fish."
Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves.
They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up 12 basketful's of broken pieces of bread and fish. The number of the men who had eaten was five thousand.
The 12 report back, and Jesus sees their need for rest and a time away from the incessant demands of the crowds.
His plan is foiled - yet instead of being annoyed or irritable with the pursuers, his heart goes out to them. Jesus meets their hunger for teaching and for food.
Why?
Jesus asked his disciples go to a quiet place and get some rest. It is not go to the crowd to accept their gifts or demand from crowd.
Jesus sees their need for rest and a time away from the demands of the crowds. The demand of the crowd are unlimited.
Jesus meets their hunger for teaching and for food. This is our mission either today.
Jesus has enough faith to pray to the Lord and give thanks, than broke the loaves, it is satisfied 5000 people's need. It is mission impossible.
How?
Praise to the Lord, we need faith to do the work of the Lord and meets their hunger for teaching and food.

Who Jesus is?
Mark 6:14-29
John the Baptist beheaded.
Herod himself had given orders to have John arrested, and he had him bound and put in prison. He did this because of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, whom he had married. For John had been saying to Herod,' it is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife.'
The king was greatly distressed, but because of his oaths and his dinner guests. This is the consequence of Herod have John arrested first.
The context of the question of who Jesus is. Guilt and superstition(迷信) make Herod Antipas think Jesus is John come to life again. Herod, wife of his half-brother Philip. John had denounced this as incest(亂倫), and been imprisoned for his pains. But Herodias wanted to still the preacher's tongue permanently and did not miss the opportunity when it came.
Why?
The question is who Jesus is? Herod thought Jesus is John come to life again, for he felt guilt about killed John.
Guilt and superstition makes peoepl some way to explain who Jesus is.

Authority over impure spirits
Mark 6:7-13
Then Jesus went around teaching from village to village.
Calling the Twelve to him, he began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over impure spirits.
Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you leave that town. And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, leave that place and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.”
Why?
Jesus visited and teaching village to villege. This is the missions.
Jesus also sent his disciples to preach gospel with the authority to over impure spirit.
With Jesus name we have authority overcome devil.
How?
Jesus name is the power, the love and the hope to people in darkness.

There is no way to the skeptics
Mark 6:1-6
Prophet without honor.
What's this wisdom that has been given him, that he even does miracles! Isn't this the carpenter? Isn't this Mary's son and the brother of James, Joseph? Aren't his sisters here with us? And they took offense at him.
Jesus said to them, "Only in his hometown, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honor." And he was amazed at their lack of faith.
I Jesus home town it is not a case of 'local boy makes good' but 'who does this jumped-up carpenter think he is?' It was not in line with Jesus' purpose to make a display of his powers in order to convince skeptics.
Why?
Jesus hometown are familiar with his family so they look down all men their include Jesus.
Even Jesus has wisdom to teach them but they still insist not confess their sins and give honor to Him.
Jesus does not make effort to convince skeptics. So if they do not faith in Jesus let them do what they like.
How?
How hard of man's heart! Jesus is my way, my truth and my life!
