Mark 7:24-8:10
For it is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to the dogs. "Lord," she replied, "even the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs" . Then he told her, "For such a reply, you may go; the demon has left your daughter."
People were overwhelmed with amazement. "He has done everything well," they said, "He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak."
Jesus feeds the 4000 people. I have compassion for these people, they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat.
Jesus is in Gentile territory: Mark's account moves from the idea of clean and unclean foods to that of 'clean and unclean people (non-Jews). God's kingdom is inclusive(包容的.)
The man's speech defect was the result of his deafness, as is often the case. Saliva was popularly thought to have healing power: Jesus treats the man in the way his contemporaries expect.
Why?
Jesus tested the gentile woman, but she has faith to Jesus, so the kingdom of God is inclusive to them. Jesus is the savior to all who believe in Him. No limited to Jew but to all people.
Jesus has done everything well. For Jesus has compassion to people who follow him and the needed people.
Jesus makes the deaf hear and the mute speak, only Jesus comes from heaven can do it.
Not only overwhelmed with amazement but turn to Jesus, for He is Son of the Lord!
How?
Come to Jesus, for Jesus loves me and do not be afraid, Jesus know my pain and my sorrow, Jesus gives me peace and joy.
