Micah 5:1-15
Bethlehem Ephrathan, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient days. (He is the Jesus Christ.)
The remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples like dew from the Lord, like showers on the grass, which delay not for a man nor wait for the children of man. Like lion among the beasts of the forest, when it goes through, treads down and tears in pieces, and there is none to deliver. -- the time is limited.
God will in anger and wrath executes vengeance on the nations that did not obey.
Micah speaks of a deliverer - the ultimate deliverer - who will come like David of old, from Bethlehem.
Historical perspectives blur, as so often in the prophets, and current events melt into those of the near and far distant future.
In the messianic peace, even the Assyrian will be overcome, but Judah too will be purified 'in that day'.
All that they have relied on in place of God will be destroyed: armies, defences, witchcraft and false gods.
Why?
God announce there will be a new ruler comes from Bethlehem who is Jesus Christ.
At the end day Jesus will judge this world, he will not wait for men and delay for a man.
Jesus Christ will be king of nations and executes vengeance on the nations.
How?
Jesus Christ is the king of kings, God's plan and God's way beyond my perspective and my way. What should I do is pray for the people who may turn to the Lord before end of that Day.
