Luke 5:1-11
Jesus chose Simon's boat and said to him, "Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch."
Simon answered, 'Master, we've worked hard all night and haven't caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets."
When Simon Peter saw this he fell at Jesus' knees and said, "Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!"
Jesus said to Simon "Don't be afraid; from now on you will catch men." So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.
Matthew and Mark simply record Jesus' call to the fishermen to follow him. Luke's story shows that this was based on more than casual contact. In the first of the three miracles recorded in 5:1-26. Jesus moves in on Peter's area of expertise. The huge catch, made against all the norms, brings Peter to his knees. God is at work, and Peter is no saint.
Why?
Jesus moved into Peter's area of expertise, and Peter didn't rejoice but he fell at Jesus and said 'I am a sinful man!' It is the work of God in heart of Peter.
Peter was follow the word of Jesus even Peter is a professional fisherman. This is the key point.
Peter accepted Jesus' word then left everything and followed Jesus. Take into action immediately.
How?
What is my relationship with the Lord, can I hear the calling of the Lord and follow Jesus? The key point is knowing that Jesus is the Lord in everything.
