1 Chronicles 9:1-44
All Israel was listed in the genealogies recorded in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah. They were taken captive to Babylon because of their unfaithfulness.
Now the first to resettle on their own property in their own towns were some Israelites, priests, Levites and temple servants.
Those from Judah, from Benjamin, and from Ephraim and Manasseh who lived in Jerusalem were ...
Of the priests: Jedaiah; Jehoiarib; Jakin;
Of the Levites: 
The gatekeepers: Altogether, those chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds numbered 212. They were registered by genealogy in their villages. The gatekeepers had been assigned to their positions of trust by David and Samuel the seer.
A Levite named Mattithiah, the firstborn son of Shallum the Korahite, was entrusted with the responsibility for baking the offering bread. Some of the Kohathites, their fellow Levites, were in charge of preparing for every Sabbath the bread set out on the table.
This section, relating to the 6th century BC, interrupts the narrative of Saul and David, just beginning. The Chronicler wants to emphasize continuity: this is the exiles' own history; they belong to and have a part in the story. He focusses on the resettlement of Jerusalem, listing the people by tribe and family; the priests; the Levites; gatekeepers; those in charge of utensils and stores and musicians.
Why?
Here is recorded the priests and Levites who were resettled on their own property in their own towns.
Each responsibility is following with their tribes and their inheritance jobs. Even very detail service is described here. It means each job is important in the Temple.
The Lord asks a group of the servant to serve the Lord, instead of one excellent man to serve Him.
Christian should be a group servant in the church.
本章是否家譜的最後一章，以被擄歸回的人。只記載猶大、便雅閔及部份瑪拿西人。
把祭司和利未人分別出來記載。我們也被分別出來成為祭司，不限於利未人服事主。
重新回到應許之地，好似出埃及，我們要悔改歸向神，但是這種犯罪、悔改的次數要愈來愈少。
看守門出現12次表示這工作很重要。利未人將四門看顧，要人自潔才能進入。現在來看我們要保守我們有純正的信仰。
大衛和撒母耳所派要緊的職責，並與他們同在。幫助百姓不要誤闖，防止人沒有敬畏神的心，以致污了聖所。
神殿中的服事似乎不要太少心思，但是神很重視，而記載下來。
家譜的記載停在聖所的服事，因為以色列沒有好好敬畏神，沒有好好保守信仰的純正。這也是今天我們是否重建聖殿，看守聖殿的門。我們教會長老，傳道就是這個角色，保守教會弟兄姊妹有純正的信仰。守住耶和華，以馬內利恩典的神。
