The Genealogy of Saul the Benjamite

1 Chronicles 8:1-40
Benjamin was the father of Bela his firstborn, Ashbel the second son, Aharah the third, Nohah the fourth and Rapha the fifth.
Jeiel the father of Gibeon lived in Gibeon. His wife’s name was Maakah,  and his firstborn son was Abdon, followed by Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab, Gedor, Ahio, Zeker and Mikloth, who was the father of Shimeah. They too lived near their relatives in Jerusalem. Ner was the father of Kish, Kish the father of Saul, and Saul the father of Jonathan, Malki-Shua, Abinadab and Esh-Baal.
The son of Jonathan: Merib-Baal,(Mephibosheth) who was the father of Micah.
The family of Benjamin: the family line of Saul. Israel's first king.
When the ten northern tribes broke away to form the kingdom of Israel, Benjamin became part of the southern kingdom, joining Judah.
Why?
Saul is the first king of Judah, so he is important to Israelite history.
Benjamin joined Judah became one kingdom.

重要人物是掃羅祖孫三代。
透過歷代誌告訴歸回的以色列人這裏才是他們真正的家。只有在神裏面、在神的應許裏面，才是我們真正的家。
從掃羅的家譜的是帶出大衛。掃羅的歷史為的是給以色列人一個警惕。掃羅一直想到自己的權利地位，一心想用自己的方法維護王位，不是以神為王。同樣以色列諸王不敬畏神，以致敗亡。歸回的人如果還是走掃羅的人，還是走敗亡的路。如我們這蒙恩典的人，成為基督徒，如果以為穩妥、離開神，必然如掃羅一樣失敗。
