The grain offering

 Leviticus 2:1-16

Bring the grain offering made of these things to the Lord; present it to the priest, who shall take it to the altar. He shall take out the memorial portion from the grain offering and burn it on the altar as a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord. The rest of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons; it is a most holy part of the food offerings presented to the Lord.

Every grain offering you bring to the Lord must be made without yeast, for you are not to burn any yeast or honey in a food offering presented to the Lord. 

Season all your grain offerings with salt. Do not leave the salt of the covenant of your God out of your grain offerings; add salt to all your offerings.

If you bring a grain offering of firstfruits to the Lord, offer crushed heads of new grain roasted in the fire. Put oil and incense on it; it is a grain offering. The priest shall burn the memorial portion of the crushed grain and the oil, together with all the incense, as a food offering presented to the Lord.

The cereal or grain-offering: often an accompaniment to burnt and peace offerings.

Why?

The grain offering is present thanks to the Lord for God's blessing so we may have such grain, especially the first-fruits belong to the Lord. This means we care about the Lord, God is the first priority in our life.

Offering without yeast means the Holy, for yeast means evil minds or bad seed.

Salt is the covenant of our God, so we have to be salt in the world to witness God's love and righteousness.

Honey and yeast may destroy the grain, salt can keep grain longer. So it is the meaning full to God's people.

燔祭要流血，為主而死。

素祭不流血，為主而治。把自己的收穫獻給主。即生活工作的奉獻。廣義說就是我們生活中的一切都可以奉獻給神。將羅14:6-8節說明了。（我們若活著，是為主而活；若死了，是為主而死。所以，我們或活或死總是主的人）

取出一把，也就是一把代表全部，也就是我們的全部都是屬於神的。

酵： 會發酵，變質了，膨脹須有其表。蜜是有甜味，是修飾，做假。我們的信仰不要多加修飾，不要變質的，是裏外一致的。

加鹽： 代表對神的約忠實。立約與鹽的關係：表示不會變質。這忠誠從生活、工作中表現出來。

素祭最能表達一個人的生命，性格、信仰。無法從聚會中看出一個人的信仰，而是從生活工作中看出來，因為最沒有修飾的地方。聚會中我們比較能夠做出屬靈的事，使我們不易分辨。

我們的生活就是信仰、敬拜。即使最微小的工作都可以獻給主！
