The land must not be sold permanently, because the land is mine and you reside in my land as foreigners and strangers

 Leviticus 25:1-28

But in the seventh year the land is to have a year of sabbath rest, a sabbath to the Lord. Do not sow your fields or prune your vineyards. Do not reap what grows of itself or harvest the grapes of your untended vines. The land is to have a year of rest. Whatever the land yields during the sabbath year will be food for you—for yourself, your male and female servants, and the hired worker and temporary resident who live among you,  as well as for your livestock and the wild animals in your land. Whatever the land produces may be eaten.

Consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you; each of you is to return to your family property and to your own clan. The fiftieth year shall be a jubilee for you; do not sow and do not reap what grows of itself or harvest the untended vines. For it is a jubilee and is to be holy for you; eat only what is taken directly from the fields.

In this Year of Jubilee everyone is to return to their own property.

You may ask, “What will we eat in the seventh year if we do not plant or harvest our crops? I will send you such a blessing in the sixth year that the land will yield enough for three years.

The land must not be sold permanently, because the land is mine and you reside in my land as foreigners and strangers. Throughout the land that you hold as a possession, you must provide for the redemption of the land.

But if they do not acquire the means to repay, what was sold will remain in the possession of the buyer until the Year of Jubilee. It will be returned in the Jubilee, and they can then go back to their property.

This chapter looks forward to the time when the nation will occupy the 'promised land'. The pattern of sevens reflected in the festivals is extended to the land. One year in seven it is to lie fallow: a year in which the people, freed from much of their ordinary work,  are to be taught and trained in God's law.

The fiftieth year, following the seventh seven, is an extra fallow year for the land, which reverts to its original owner. It is a time when those who have fallen on bad times have their freedom and property restored. Jubilee, the year of restoration, serves a dual purpose. It reminds the people that the land belongs to God; and it prevents the wealthy from amassing land.

Why?

It is the land belongs to God, man has sabbath day, so as the land has sabbath year to rest. It is right way to restore the productivity of the land. Restore the land functionality.

Year of Jubilee is a freedom year not only the land but also the property return to the owner. For the land is belong to the Lord. The land in Israel is God's blessing and God is the owner. But year of Jubilee didn't executed in Israel history. It is because of the sin of the people.

 How?

Respect everything God created this world, the land, the animal, and trees and all of the man. God is the Lord in all. Love our living environment and we may live better and be blessing.
