God detests anyone who does these things, anyone who deals dishonestly

Deuteronomy 25:1-19

If the guilty person deserves to be beaten, the judge shall make them lie down and have them flogged in his presence with the number of lashes the crime deserves, but the judge must not impose more than forty lashes. If the guilty party is flogged more than that, your fellow Israelite will be degraded in your eyes.

Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.

If brothers are living together and one of them dies without a son, his widow must not marry outside the family. Her husband’s brother shall take her and marry her and fulfill the duty of a brother-in-law to her. The first son she bears shall carry on the name of the dead brother so that his name will not be blotted out from Israel.

If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, you shall cut off her hand. Show her no pity.

Do not have two differing weights in your bag—one heavy, one light. 

For the Lord your God detests anyone who does these things, anyone who deals dishonestly.

When the Lord your God gives you rest from all the enemies around you in the land he is giving you to possess as an inheritance, you shall blot out the name of Amalek from under heaven. Do not forget!

Corporal punishment: compassion for working animals; the Levirate marriage law; fights; fair weights; punishment of the Amalekites.

The lash is to punish guilt, not extract a confession. It must never take away human dignity or self-respect. The 40 lashes later became 39, for fear of inadvertently overstepping the limit.

The Levirate law was intended to prevent the calamity of a man dying without an heir. It was not unique to Israel.

Conflict with the Amalekites is repeatedly recorded from 1 Samul 14 to 2 Samuel 8.

Why?

God asks us to respect each life even punish the guilt man.

A widow is hard to live in ancient times, God asked Israelites have to take care of their widow from their family by marriage, take care of her living and inheritance.

Love everyone and love the animal when they are working for us.

Do not make any deals dishonestly for the Lord detests these matters.

不能又要馬兒好，又叫馬兒不吃草！提醒人神顧念人的辛勞！保守認真付出的人得榮耀與豐富！

延續每個人的名，不希望有人因為沒有後代而被遺忘了。神也願意每個人都被紀念！

抓住人的下體可能造成該人沒有後代，這是很嚴重的事！

在買賣的事情，神不允許神的選民被虧待、欺壓到斤斤計較，所以我們不要爭，神會為我們爭！
