Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing

James 3:1-12
Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

Those who want to be teachers in the church must first learn to control their tongues. To master this most uncontrollable and contradictory member of the body is to have perfect self-control. One spark can light a forest fire. A single word can be just as destructive - a deadly venom. The same tongue can bless and it can curse, do good and do untold harm. This inconsistency. James says, is against all the laws of nature.

Why?
James reminds us we should control our tongue, it can be set on fire by hell. corrupts the whole body.
So to be a teacher in the church have to be no fault in what he says.
We can't praise the Lord and curse other people so as fresh water and saltwater flow from the same spring, so if anyone curses others and praises the Lord, his praise is false.

How?
Let us don't live in fresh but live in the Holy Spirit inside our body. When I am a Christian,  "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatian 2:20
