I have no pleasure in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats Isaiah1:1-20

 Isaiah 1:1-20

The vision concerning Judah and Jerusalem that Isaiah son of Amoz saw during the reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

"I reared children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against meThe ox knows its master, the donkey its owner’s manger, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand.”

They have forsaken the Lordthey have spurned the Holy One of Israel and turned their backs on him.

Your country is desolate, your cities burned with fire; your fields are being stripped by foreigners right before you, laid waste as when overthrown by strangers.

Unless the Lord Almighty had left us some survivors, we would have become like Sodomwe would have been like Gomorrah.

“The multitude of your sacrifices— what are they to me?” says the Lord“I have more than enough of burnt offerings, of rams and the fat of fattened animals; I have no pleasure in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats.

Your hands are full of blood!

Wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight; stop doing wrong.
Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless;
plead the case of the widow.

If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the landbut if you resist and rebelyou will be devoured by the sword.” For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

Why?

People of Israel and Judah make fulls and lambs and goats for offering to the Lord, but their hearts turned away from the Lord and rebelled against the Lord. All of these offerings are meaningless to God.

What the Lord like is they turn back to the word of the Lord. Learn to do right, seek justice, defend the oppressed, take up the cause of the fatherless, and plead the case of the widow.

There is a choice for all people of Israelites, listen and obey the word of the Lord or be killed and be captured by foreigners.

What is the purpose of my attending worship in the church every Sunday morning? Does the Lord like my worship every Sunday?

How?

Wash my hands and heart, turn my heart to the Lord and close to the Lord. Fear the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
