This is the voice of a god, not of a man

Acts 12;12-25

But Peter kept on knocking, and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished. Peter motioned with his hand for them to be quiet and described how the Lord had brought him out of prison. “Tell James and the other brothers and sisters about this,” he said, and then he left for another place.

In the morning, there was no small commotion among the soldiers as to what had become of Peter. After Herod had a thorough search made for him and did not find him, he cross-examined the guards and ordered that they be executed.

On the appointed day Herod, wearing his royal robes, sat on his throne and delivered a public address to the people. They shouted, “This is the voice of a god, not of a man.” Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died.

But the word of God continued to spread and flourish.

When Barnabas and Saul had finished their mission, they returned from Jerusalem, taking with them John, also called Mark.

Why?
The brothers and sisters prayed to the Lord to save Peter from prisoner. But when they heard Peter was waiting outside the door, they couldn't believe Peter could come out.

Peter asked they leave there for Herod to possibly come here to search Peter, it was dangerous to all of them.

It is the Lord who sent a worm to kill Hero for he did not give praise to the Lord. No one will be involved in this dead event.

This is the voice of a god, not of a man: self-aggrandizement and disrespect for God 自我誇大與不尊重上帝. Sometimes God gives a chance to evil men, and sometimes the judgment of the Lord comes upon them soon, like Herod.

Mark was come with Barnabas and Saul, for Barnaba caring the young man to serve the Lord.

How?

Peter, Paul, and Barnabas are good examples for me to follow their idea and ways to treat people.

Don't say the voice of man instead of God's voice.
