Defended the cause of the poor and needy

Jemeriah 22:10-30
He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. is that not what it means to know me? declares the Lord.
Josiah will has gone from this place:"He will never return. He will die in the place where they have led them captive.
Jehoiakim son of Josiah will have the burial of a donkey - dragged away and thrown thrown outside the gates of Jerusalem.
Even if you, Jehoiachiin son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, were a signet ring on my right hand, I would still pull you off. I will deliver you into the hands of those who want to kill you, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and the Babylonians.
Record this man as if childless, a man who will not prosper in his lifetime, for none of his offspring will prosper, none will sit on the throne of David or rule anymore in Judah.
This prophecy is earlier than chapter 21 Jeholakim reigned from 609 to 597 - the year Jerusalem first surrendered to Babylon.
The doom-laden diatribe(誹謗) to verse 13 contrast Jehoiakim - who sees his kingship in terms of cedar wood palaces - with his godly father, Josiah. No one will mourn his passing or honor his death.
Verse 24, concern Jehoiakim's 18-year-old sin Jehoiachin who reigned only three months before he and his mother were indeed taken into exile with may other captives.
Why?
Jeremiah prophecy destination of  kings of Judah, those who defended the cause of the poor and needy. So no prosper in his lifetime. none will sit on the throne of David.
For their evil were huge and serious, they did not listen to the warning of the Lord, so were be discarded.
How?
Fear the Lord for God is righteousness and sees heart of everyone on the earth.

The way of life and the way of death

Jeremiah 21:1-22:9
I am setting before you the way of life and the way of death. Whoever stays in this city will die by the sword, famine or plague. But whoever goes out and surrenders to the Babylonians who are besieging you will live; they will escape with their lives.
This is what the Lord says to you, house of David: Administer justice every morning; rescue from the hand of the oppressors the one who has been robbed, or my wrath will break out and burn like fire because of the evil you have done.
People from many nations will pass by this city and will ask one another, "Why has the Lord done such a thing to this great city? And the answer will be : Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord their God and have worshiped and served other gods.
The year 587, when Jerusalem was under siege in Judah's final struggle with Babylon King Zedekiah turns to the prophet, hoping for a word of comfort, another miraculous reprieve. But none is forthcoming: God says defeat is certain. The only hope lies in surrender.
The story of Jerusalem's fall is told in 2 Kings 25 and 2 Chronicles 36
Why?
King of Judah hope God may save them again but this time God show them the way surrender to Babylonians is the only way to live. For they have done evil and did not care the oppressors and needed people.
The story of Jerusalem will be talk by foreigner and other people, they will know why God forsake them. For they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord their God and have worshiped other gods.
How?
Obey the command of the Lord, worship the only God with all my strength, my heart and all my mind.

Sing to the Lord, he rescue the needy

Jeremiah 20:7-18
But the Lord is with me like a mighty warrior; so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail.
They will fail and be thoroughly disgraced; their dishonor will never be forgotten.
Lord Almighty, you who examine the righteous and probe the heart and mind, let me see your vengeance on them, for to you I have committed my cause.
Sing to the Lord! Give praise to the Lord! He rescues the life of the needy from the hands of the wicked.
With hands and feet made fast in the wooden stocks he pours out his heart to God.
Jeremiah was not a thick-skinned. Yet he had to make God's work known -so his role as prophet put him under tremendous pressure.
His lament is an encouragement to all who feel as he does. Voicing his complaint to God brings him through to confident praise God.
Why?
Jememiah called to thr Lord his trouble and suffering with confident heart. He believed God will rescue him from dip.
Jeremiah encourages us under pressure and trouble may praise the Lord.
How?
Praise the Lord every moment. He is my Lord I am his servant and needy.

Life of a clay jar

Jeremiah 19:1-20:6
The Lord says; Go and buy a clay jar from a potter. Take along some of the elders of the people and of the priests and go out to the Valley of Ben Hinnom.
Be aware, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when people will no longer call this place Topheth or the Valley of Ben Hinnom, but they Valley of Slaughter.
Then break the jar while those who go with you are watching, and say to them, This is what the Lord Almighty says: I will smash this nation and this city just as this potter's jar is smash and cannot be repaired. They will bury the dead in Topheth until there is no more room.
Jeremiah then returned from Topheth, where the Lord had sent him to prophesy, and stood in the court of the Lord's temple and said to all the people.
The official in charge of the temple of the Lord had Jeremiah and put in the stocks at the Upper Gate of Benjamin at the Lord's temple.
Next day Jeremiah told him the destination of his family and his.
Jeremiah breaks his pottery jar in another acted parable. Having got people's attention, he explains: God will break the city and people as surely and as irreparably as that jug.
Jeremiah goes straight from the Hinnom Valley to the temple; and there his message lands him in trouble.
Why?
When people's heart is harden, any warning message could not affect him or turn his way back.
Sometime we have our idea and dream to make, without God's approve it is can't be succeed.
God's blessing are based on following his word and do the right things.
Our life is like a clay jar that God made it, when it is useless will be discarded by the master, the Lord.
How?
Be aware the warning from Holy Spirit and always truest in the Lord and go on the way of God's command

Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are we in God's hand

Jeremiah 18:1-23
Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.
If any time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed and if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned.
Like a wind from the east. I will scatter them before their enemies; I will show them my back and not my face in the day of their disaster.
Should good be repaid with evil? Yet they have dug a pit for me. Remember that I stood before you and spoke in their behalf to turn your wrath away from them.
Lord, know all their plots to kill me. Do not forgive their crimes or blot out their sins from your sight. Let them be overthrown before you; deal with them in the time of your anger.
This is another dramatized parable. Like the human plotter.
Again, Jeremiah's vengeful prayer 'Do not forgive...' 'Self-justification, cursing and vengeance in the Psalms' also looks at this issue.
Why?
God has the unquestionable right to remould the spoil nation. We can never simply assume that things will always be the way they are.
God if full with mercy and love, if they repent, he will relent and do not do it he had planned.
We are the clay and God is the plotter, God has shaped us, made us, in his mind and plan. We have not choice to be shaped.
How?
God is good, what he made has his purpose, so obey and follow his command will be the way in my life.

I will not turn from being your shepherd

Jeremiah 17:1-27
But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green.
I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct.
The Lord asked Jeremiah stand at the Gate of the People, through which the kings of Judah go in and out; stand also at all the other gates of Jerusalem. Say to them keep Sabbath day holy.
This chapter contains a mixture of different material: a prophecy of judgment; a Wisdom psalm; a personal poetic prophecy-cum-lament; and an early prose prophecy which offers hope of escaping judgment.
Why?
There is different consequence for those who obey the word of God and turn away from the Lord.
Stand at the gate of the people, say God's word, stand at the cross point of the world culture, let people know the Lord. To be a christian is not stay in church but standout among people to show the love of the Lord and grace of the Lord.
How?
Lord, you are the hope of Israel and me; all who forsake you will be put to shame. I will not turn from being your shepherd.
