Trust in the Lord

2 Kings 18:1-37
Hezekiah son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign and he reigned in Jerusalem 29 years. He did what was right thing in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father David had done. He removed the high places smashed the sacred stones and cut down the Asherah poles. He broke int pieces the bronze snake Moses had made for up to that time the Israelite had been burning incense to it.
Hezekiah trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel. There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before him or after him.
Having dealt with Israel, in Hezekiah's reign the Assyrians turn their attention to rebel Judah.
Hezekiah payed 11 tons of silver and one ton of gold to king of Assyria at Lachish. Assyria attacked all the fortified cities of Judah and captured them.
The three Assyrians are masters of psychological warfare. They refuse private talks with Hezekiah's cabinet, and insist on a public harangue. And they play o the people's fear by speaking Hebrew- not the diplomatic language, Aramaic- so that everyone understands. But their boast that God cannot save Judah from Assyria seals their fate.
Eliakim the palace administrator, Shebna the secretary and Joah the recorder went to Hezekiah, with their clothes torn, and told him what the field commander has said.
Why?
Hezekiah is the finest king in Judah. He trusted inthe Lord, removed the high places, other kings of Judah did not remove it.
Jerusalem is a fortified city uneasy to attack in Judah. So the king of Assyria attacked other cities of Judah.
The three Assyrians were boast to threaten Jerusalem, they don't believe the Lord can save Judah from their attack. They said "where are other country's gods?"  They could not deliver their people, for they are not true God.
How?
Listen to the commands of the Lord and carry them out, the blessing of the Lord is coming. Even under the threaten of any enemy, the delivery of the freedom from the Lord surely will come.
Trust in the Lord, he will lead my way in every step. This is always my lesson from the Lord in my life. Don't forget what have done on me from the Lord.
